  1. Hi all My driver's side headlight has stopped working (m35). It's not the HID globe, and there's no power coming out of the connector that the globe clips into. Advice please... Would it be easier to just buy another kit with the ballast and reinstall or start chasing? How complex is the wiring for the lights? Thanks in advance. Andrew
  2. Hi all Some little maggot used a screwdriver to open my m35 driver's door and only stole the loose change in the ash tray. The central locking all still works but the lock is stuffed. Are they the same as 350z? G35? (my m35 is 2002 rx4). If anyone has one with a key that'd be great. I'm quite happy to have another key on the key-ring, just need the lock in case the central fails. Thanks in advance. Andrew
  3. I changed the plugs at the same time and the miss develops as it warms up so I'm suspecting it's the same issue with the cp... Driving me a bit nutty.
  4. Hi all I'm after 1 (maybe 2) genuine m35 coil packs. Having replaced 2 about 12 months ago with aftermarket ones, I suspect one has died. Let me know what you have.(I'm in Sydney). Andrew
  5. Same here. And what Josh said...
  6. Hi all. Thanks for the responses. I've had trouble with the coil packs in the past, and this feels like that. The plugs are only 12 months old and there is no check engine light on. I was guessing coil pack because it felt like last time... It also happens when it warms up which led me to think that it's electrical. It's been running fine since I replaced the couple of coil packs but as they were aftermarket non-genuine it may be one of them (or both). Will make sure they're pushed in and check the condition of the plugs (spark and the connectors) and see if this helps.
  7. Hi all My M35 has developed a miss again, and as it only does it when it's warm, I'm thinking that it may by a coil pack again. Can anyone here in Sydney (north preferably) plug it in and possibly tell me which one? (if that is the problem...) Is it the Consult II for M35s? My local guy suggested finding a stagea specialist to save time (and money). Thanks in advance Kind regards Andrew
  8. Hi all Once again my wife took the car and dinged it under a ute tray. Does anyone have an M35 bonnet for sale in Sydney? If it was dark blue it would be perfect but I'm going to carbon wrap it to match the roof so not essential. Cheers Andrew
  9. Hi all Still got a grumpy stag... My 2002 M35 VQ25det had a wicked miss in it, replaced the coil packs and it was great for a couple of days, then it came back exactly the same. Replaced the coil packs again and same thing, fine for a couple of days then the miss came back just as bad. New plugs have been put in, and all the piping checked and it looks fine. When at idle, it hiccups intermittently, and under acceleration feels okay until it comes on boost where it feels like it's running at about 80% power. It's running better than it was before I put the new coil packs in, but still down on power and not happy. It still sounds like ignition to me. Thoughts? Crappy coil packs? Would the BOV affect it like this? Stuffed turbo? If anyone has a set of totally stock coil packs that they are willing to part with I'll try that first. I'm near Parramatta, but am willing to drive to a Stag guy to get this fixed. It's driving me up the wall! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Cheers Andrew
  10. Hi all I have a spark problem with my m35, and have found the issue - a couple of the rubber boots on the coil packs are perished and the leads aren't doing the joy they are supposed to. After some internet searching, it seems really difficult to find m35/vq25det coil boots, but 350z/vq35 ones are easy to find. Are they the same? Cheers Andrew
  11. Plugs changed and 2 of the coils. New ones are fine but another 1 has kicked it within the week. I think that a set at once would/should make more long-term sense... Error codes don't point at a bigger problem, I think it was the crappy old plugs (now changed) that caused the issues.
  12. Hi guys I'm after some coil packs for my M35, I've had a couple chuck it. Should I stick in some splitfires instead of geniune? And if so, anyone know where I can get some? Also, had a search for a DIY change the coil packs and came up blank... Anybody got a link? Cheers all Andrew
  13. Bought 6 beers for my mechanic mate... I'll ask him and let you know.
  14. Hi all Cheap success! The turbo's fine! Old plugs had caused a couple of coil packs to pack it in. All fixed, purring like a big fat kitten again. Thanks for your suggestions. Andrew
  15. Thanks guys. Afm out to be cleaned in the morning, hoses look ok, although there's plenty of them so I may have missed something. Turbo doesn't seem louder than normal, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Will update as I go...
  16. Hi all My stock M35 decided to run like lumpy porridge for my fiancé on the highway to canberra yesterday. It got us home but is clearly unwell. I can still hear turbo noise under acceleration in the normal spots, but it has no grunt and idles really rough. Also for the last few weeks it's been developing a bit of a flat spot between 3.5-4k. Thoughts? From reading other similar posts I'm thinking afm, hoping it's not the turbo... No engine light and it starts and runs, just badly. Do they typically spit hoses? Any suggestions would be great! Cheers Andrew
  17. Hi guys and gals Just a heads up. I heard there's going to be an inspection station set up on Cowper Wharf Road this whole Easter long weekend. Let's enjoy our cars and not have those little orange stickers on the windscreens. Happy Easter.
  18. Put the extended 350Z mid-pipe in (has been passed around a few cars on this forum I think...) yesterday. As mentioned, bit more note, bit more performance. The thing I noticed was smoother throughout the rev range. I had a bit of a flat spot that's gone now. Dead-easy fit, bolt straight in! EXCEPT... Nuts on the front flange were rusted solid... Rounded off nicely with the right sized ring spanner... Angle-grinder to get them off, then the studs wouldn't come out so had to drill them out. 20 minute job took all afternoon! Still, happy with the results - CHEAP and easy upgrade. Keeps the minister for domestic affairs happy too!
  19. Leather is nice though. Mind you I have fabric and it's great. Maybe leather is better with a dog? I think it's toss a coin time... I love my Stagea and I reckon they're both going to be awesome.
  20. Hey guys I'm after a cheap mid-pipe for my M35 in Sydney - a modified 350Z one or equivalent. Cheers Andrew
  21. Neither of them are IRS, the reason the 1600 stayed more popular for rallying (even though the Stanza won plenty of Southern Cross and World Rally events). Came out standard with L16 (1.6) and the Aus one had bigger brakes than the Jap one. Stanzas were homologated with a 2L motor, so both of these have L20 motors in them. The rally car's L20 is significantly tougher than the coupe (as are all the other bits on it). Wikipedia is almost right - there were 150 coupes apparently. They were supposed to go to South Africa, but arrived in Melbourne and were assembled here, so despite being a messed up import, have Aus compliance plates. Nissan built one for George Fury with a Z18 Turbo in it. I met the guy that owned it a few years ago and he informed me that it had been written off by someone running into it. Glad you like them! I must admit, since buying my M35, the factors of air con, injection and a turbo mean the coupe doesn't get driven as much as she should...
