  1. Hey guys, has been a bit quiet in here! Just letting you all know that we are still taking entries for the 22nd of June and entry forms can be found at www.hughescarshow.com We have some great side shows lined up for the day including: a 1/4 scale jet powered dragster that runs 200MPH+ and has it's own parachute, a massive slot car track with scale V8 super cars, RestoreFX doing a demo of their great products and much more! And don't forget it is for a great cause!
  2. Hey guys, sorry for being a bit quiet we got totally rained out on the weekend and we were all madly ringing entrants and trying to sort out a new date for the show! So we can now confirm that the show will now be held on SUNDAY 22nd JUNE @ Kelso Oval! If someone can tell me how to change the name of this thread to reflect the new date that would be awesome!
  3. You guys should all come over to the Hughes Charity Car Show that is on at Kelso Oval on Sunday and support the NSW Rural Fire Service!
  4. @ djvoodoo: Sounds good mate! Also just reminding people that I need entry forms back asap! You can pay on the day if you like but I need the forms back before the day. I look forward to entering a whole lot of skylines into the show and shine!
  5. Hey guys, Just wanted to share the great article we got in today's paper with you all Just to remind you that we are still taking entries, and entry forms can be found here Even if you are paying on the day i need an entry form back from you asap!
  6. I hate to spam the crap out of this thread with self promotion but.... We can now let people know that Koenigsegg Australia is on board as a sponsor of the Hughes Charity Car Show and the owner will be bringing his black 2005 CCR down to Kelso Oval on Sunday 6th! If you are not sure what this 800+ HP Swedish Hypercar looks like:
  7. It would be great to see SAU NSW representing as a club at the show! Also thought I would show you guys the run we got in the Bankstown Torch Newspaper A big thank you to the Torch and the guys from Queen St Customs for bringing down CARTEL and the 911, and yes that is me in the middle, however that isn't my S2000, it belongs to my fiancee (the supra was not in good enough shape for a shoot!) If anyone wants more info or entry forms please pm me or email at [email protected]
  8. At this point we are saying Wednesday 2nd April, however we are allowing people to send back the competed entry form and then pay on the gate. We just need to have an idea you are coming and to put you in certain categories etc etc
  9. Hey guys! Great to see the enthusiasm! I will give you some more info on myself and what we are hoping for: I am coordinating the event on behalf of my boss, Craig Kelly MP, and it is up to me to get as many people there as possible and raise as much as possible! Working in politics means we need to raise huge amounts of money for election campaigns etc and after last year's election we were thinking that we should put those skills to good use and raise a ton of money for a community group or volunteer organisation, give something back to the community while raising awareness about those unsung heroes that are out there day in and day out lending a helping hand to those that need it. Because our electorate (Hughes) covers from Liverpool to Sutherland, Bankstown to Heathcote we are pretty much an area that relies on the NSW Rural Fire Service each summer to protect homes and save lives, there are a lot of people in Hughes that are only still here because of the selfless work of RFS volunteers. So we thought what better organisation than that, so our boss tasked myself and another guy (big ford guy, has a 300kwt Xr8) to set up a charity car show that will raise some dough and get the community involved with helping out the NSW RFS, while also getting to see some awesome cars and maybe win some prizes! I am also a car nut, I have a Supra that I get to the track in every now and again (and is about to have a single turbo put on it, shooting for 500rwhp) so I was more than happy to help put this together. If you would like any more info please PM me or shoot me an email at [email protected] or check out the website www.hughescarshow.com @ Terry:Currently we have a brigade from Menai coming down on the day with their trucks (and in yellows) and they are also helping out by collecting the money from spectators etc I think RFS head office at Granville was sorting that stuff out, I will also shoot you a PM. And as far as I know the HWP guys from around the bankstown area have been invited to come and show off a pursuit car and talk to people about road safety. Cheers guys!
  10. Hey guys! I just wanted to let people know about a car show that I am helping to organise and run that is coming up on Sunday April 6th. The show is the Hughes Charity Car Show and we are raising money for the NSW Rural Fire Service, every dollar we raise goes to the NSW RFS! Entry for cars is $15, Spectators: Gold coin donation at the gate. The day will revolve around a show and shine competition with 17 categories, including: Best Japanese Car on Display, Best Interior, Best Paintwork and a peoples choice category. Most cars entered will be in at least 5+ categories. There will also be a best club on display award so if any of the skyline clubs or even this forum wants to come down we can enter you in the club category! Each category winner will be taking home $100 in prizes provided by our fantastic sponsors including: Shannons Insurance, Bankstown City Council, Panania Diggers, Torch Publishing, Queen St Customs, BP Milperra, RINCAP Automotive, Bennett Elder Smash Repair, Tyrepower Revesby, Peter Warren Ford, Peter Warren Jeep, Benchmark National Revesby and Villaggio Bar Cafe. The day is being put on and hosted by the Federal Member for Hughes, Craig Kelly MP. It would be great to see a huge turn out from this forum in support of the NSW Rural Fire Service! For more information and entry forms please visit our website at www.hughescarshow.com or shoot me a PM or email at [email protected]
  11. Thanks for the reply, ill keep looking around as the funds wont be available for a little while (prob closer to the end of the year). I like both cars but for totally different reasons, the gtr appeals as the best you can possibly get; quick, as well as being a very good track car outta the box, while the supra is a lot cheaper and i do like the look of the supra, esp the inside which i find quite lacking on the r34's. Also if i go the supra route im looking at half the price for a clean RZ and then enough money to go single and look at 700-800 horses which is very very tempting, i guess it comes down to if i want to be able to go around corners or not.....
  12. Hey guys signed up here so i could learn a little bit more about skylines. In a few months i'm going to be buying a new car (read: most probably importing one) and recently i have been considering a skyline as this possible car. Im only a fan of the r34's and in particular the GTR's, however from looking at some GTR's they will be stretching the budget to the limit so i need to arm myself with as much info as i can find on them and then see if its worth the money. If anyone is wondering the other cars im looking at are: Jza80 RZ supras and Evo's, now i know a lot of people are going to flame me over the supra but its been a dream car for a while and a lot more affordable than the GTR with room for a mod budget straight out, same goes for the Evo (prob a 7) but many people are saying spend the money and buy a GTR. So yeah will be kicking around here learning as much as possible and asking a lot of dumb questions probably! Now for the first one, how possible is it to daily an r34 GTR? not that i will be, the BMW will stay in that role but its a good indication of how driver friendly a car is for me. thanks guys andy
