  1. hi, this is an unconventional question, and I don't know if it's actually allowed.... (if not please suggest where I could post), I have an apwe50 2001 elgrand vq35 with spun cam bearing. Weve already replaced the car but I would prefer to sell the e50 going than as a wreck. Anyway what i am hoping to find is a sydney mechanic interested in some weekend work. I'm happy to pay per hour or split the profit, it's only worth $1000 as is. It's range topping XL 4wd with all the bling, inc 'capt's chairs', leather, raised with BFGs, LPG, original paperwork, 155km, so should fetch at least $7k... cheers Adrian, Ashfield 0438 936056
  2. Were having this problem too.. albeit on a 2001 elgrand (well at least its got a VQ35) have been suggested to replace voltage regulator &/or have it bench tested by a cluster specialist please could someone suggest a reputable cluster specialist.. we're near ashfield nsw thanks in advance
  3. much appreciate your time & advice rta technical sugest its also much more likely if the vehicle is a private import and under 10years old i'll pay the cash... thanks again Adrian
  4. hello my newly imported vehicle is in compliance presently. the complier wants to know if i want to pay a few hundred $s to have the vehicle registered first by a dealer, thus avoiding the possibility of viiu i would like to know how frequent/whats the probability of a viiu... appreciate your input & advice regards
  5. not trying to ramp... had another conversation with andrew at tgvi (who are also owned by bruce gearing who owns raws.com.au, well known & respected), gotta say, very upfront & pleasant, understood my reluctance to have vehicle complied 1000km away, however would really like opinions of members here who've had compliance done there http://www.tgvi.com.au/ please! esp as they can comply the latest vehicles - delica & others also spoke at length with peter janos of pjs @ riverwood, although he can only comply delicas up march 04 (really the 03 model), this guy rocks, didnt check if he does skyline, but a very pleasant man to deal with full of practical advice http://www.japcars.com.au/
  6. hi all i'm new new here but i did own a skyline a few years back, now mr familys looking to import a delica with 4 kids i'm on a budget, the old pajero nf has had her day, been in contact with several aussies working for or running auction agent businesses inc lachlan from http://www.autotraderimports.com/auction and phil cathcart http://www.directimported.com.au/about-dir...uto-brokers.php try this site, awesome for historical auction price data mining but you only get 7 days http://jpctrade.com/ i reckon i can manage sorting the customs bit, (friend is a customs agent), so that leaves the big one, finding a reputable RAW - my inner skeptic says thats one without a car yard attached. ive sussed raws.com.au . there are a couple mobility@hornsby, top gear@darra qld i realise the regular brokers - performance, kieran iron chef, j-spec, (nice site), 101, to name just some of the better ones, probably want to keep this stuff up their sleeve, however, if youve done a diy import, and had a positive compliance experience would you please respond with a post or a pm (not sure if i can get pms as this is my first post...?) perhaps even if youve had a poor experience postit so i can omit them thanks in advance adrian ps great site, will be letting the crustys at delica.com know you guys have got your import s..t together pps yes - not all raws will have the evidence packages for delicas, but its a start, i appreciate your advice
