  8. Hi, had enough of the auto in my R31 . .want to change it to manual and have all the parts required EXCEPT for a NEW flywheel, can anyone here recommend a place in perth to get one from? im not looking for a lightened flywheel just a standard type for street duties thanks in advance
  9. put a bulge in the bonnet where the cam cover will hit it, do it in metal and without buchering the reo too much and the cops wont bother you
  10. maybe a bit off topic but why doesnt anybody opt for reground stock cams? they can be remanufactured to whatever lift and duration that you want and best of all they will fit back into the motor that they came from without CAS hassles as discussed above
  11. yaeh its not too hard to replace. . .ive used pliers on the tube and just wriggled and twisted it till it pulled out of the block whilst applying upwards pressure, bit harsh on the tube tho, had an engine once that had a "o" ring at the point where the dipstick tube meets the block, if you have one of those then you may only have too change that
  12. my plugs were brown on the ends due to the octane booster and (i believe) the injector cleaner i had put in the tank, no biggy
  13. if you are unsure of your skills then play it safe and take it to a workshop
  14. yaeh, might be easier to drop the 25 in there, but change the welsh plugs on it before you do!
  15. just printed that off. . .thankyou, your trans could be low on fluid/need a flush or tired and worn out, there is a good thread on R31 skyline club that has info on this trans, worth a look
  16. it helps with exhaust gas velocity and keeps the heat out of the engine bay. . .but it can cause the exhaust pipe to crystalise/fatigue and eventually fail
  17. take a look a the plugs, they may be worn/fouled and need replacing
  18. i was actually asking that of wori. . . but yeah the spring is an important part of correctly tensioning the belt otherwise the factory wouldnt have put it there in the first place
  19. a good quality degreaser is a good start and when you have washed / dried that off then use paint stripper to remove the hard to shift gunk . . .its always worked for me
  20. so your saying im wrong?
  21. geez id be pissed off about that, you have a long uphill battle in front of you that youd want to be prepared for ! , david v goliath!
  22. the spring puts tension on the pulley, probably not a good idea to go without it
  23. Hi, looking for a stock r32 GTSt car radio, willing to pay for postage and handling (to Perth) on a good used working unit, pls PM me if ya have one for sale thanks
  24. could be any of a hundred things, a good auto electrician can sort it for you
  25. use a rubber based underbody sealant, are you intending to respray the paint chips after you rub them back?if so then i would look at using maybe 600 grit wet n dry sandpaper
