  1. hehe get back in your corner Roy! Cheers guys DT is the go... sending entry today... would be good if there was a direct deposit option on the entry form tho:/
  2. hey thanks for the reply... sounds like the driver training is the way to go, don't want to be trying to find my line and looking in the mirrors at the same time! I am assuming I don't have to list an expected lap time if I am doing the driver training?
  3. hey guys this would be my first club sprint day, would I be better off signing up for the driver training? Will there be instructors at the track? Do I still get the same amount of laps? Sorry I was going to ask these questions on the WRX forums but it seems my username hasn't been activated yet. I haven't done a circuit driver course either and don't want to be getting in everbody's way if I sign up for the sprints... am I being paranoid?
  4. If no access to dyno I would leave the injectors off and replace the power fc with a stock ecu for the first 500km or so, then install injectors and power fc and dyno tune at the same time... but I maybe overly cautious
  5. size depends on whether or not they need to hone the bores... your engine builder will tell you what size they need once they have stripped the motor... as for differences between Arias and ACL I have no idea... I only have experience with Arias and have been very impressed... pricing is about the same between the 2 brands
  6. yep got one of those the other week... hadn't been having any problems but was a little alarmed by the egg frying temperature of the disks when taken out after a couple of hours playing... its just 3 fans that bolt on the back... seems to extract a lot more air... or I am just a ricer at heart
  7. champion, cheers
  8. hey Roy am I stupid (don't answer that) cos I downloaded the Supp Regs from the first post but no entry form?
  9. Had mine for 3 months, no problems... yet... *fingers crossed*
  10. I am going to try and make this as my first SAU vic track championship round... just need new pads and fluid and we're away... I have never been to Sandown before so I hope you guys don't mind lots of newb questions, cos there will be a lot!

    Miss Juz On Tv!

I saw it, I saw it! nice surprise flicking channels at midnight and then BLAM! try hard Top Gear ripoff... oooh yeah your section was well presented Justine, well done!
  12. ^^that's pretty much what I did when it was rebuild time (bar the metal head gasket, Nissan one is fine IMHO) HOWEVER i do regret not sourcing some GTR rods... I just prepped the stock GTSt rods and stuck them back in there... GTR rods are cheap as chips and will give you peace of mind when your up over 300rwkw and if you want to raise the revlimit above 7000rpm
  13. Team America f*ck yeah! come to save the muthaf*ckin day now.. top film, Trey Parker and Matt Stone for Presidents! hehe imagine them as heads of the UN... gold
  14. there is waaaay to much history in this conflict and way to many atrocities committed on BOTH sides for any rational person to pick sides or start making excuses for one side or another... I find it funny how so many posts start with "i'm not picking sides" but then go on to do exactly that! You would have thought the arab and israelis governments were sick of picking body parts up in the street but it seems there are enough young, dumb, testosterone fuelled heroes on both sides to continue the fighting... fu(king disgusting... maybe North Korea will fire a missile over there and it will all be over
  15. with those mods and no piggybacks you should be running really rich... the safc is usually needed to lean your mixtures out not richen them up... I would say your fuel pump is on its way out or something else is up... that tune is probably bordering on okay but if I was you I would want to find out why it is like that in the first place
  16. It has more to do with developing economies like China and India needing more oil... A few years ago China used to be a net exporter of oil but now they have to import it as well to keep up with demand... same as England in the eighties when they thought the North sea reserves would last forever... most of the easy to get oil has already been used which now leaves the deeper trickier oil, which is slower to get out of the ground and more expensive... and yes the major oil producing countries all seem to have unstable governments (Iraq, Iran, Nigeria etc etc) which is also helping drive the price up... The big question is how much oil do the Saudis have left... they have a nationalised oil company that controls all the fields and they have been reporting the same growing production of oil for the last 50 years which contradicts every other major oil field/producer in the world... so they are keeping something secret... bottomline enjoy your cars people because the current rate of petrol price increase will continue and worsen after 2010 or so... don't blame the oil companies either, blame the government for not preparing us and our economy buuuut back on topic...
  17. like with a lot of social problems what we need is more education... but education is expensive and the government would rather legislate around problems... eg. more fines, P plate restrictions, anti hoon laws etc... so you can't have fun responsibly anymore because someone else has already hurt themselves or worse, so now there is a law against it... to protect us all... from ourselves... I think its a parents job to make sure their child can drive and doesn't have a dangerous car not the governments agh it doesn't matter anyway, did anyone watch the 4 corners on peak oil last night? by the time I have kids they won't be able to afford to drive... and neither will anyone else!
  18. I have SAFC and EBC set to 10psi... on really cold nights (middle of winter) when WOT the ecu will occasionally go into R&R... that's with approx 200rwkw in a 95 GTSt... no stress tho, I just turn the ebc down a couple of psi and all is good again If you are worried about fuel consumption you should grab a SAFC at least, as with your exhaust and cooler you will be running rich already... an SITC controls ignition timing if I'm not mistaken and the SAFC controls fueling
  19. ah you have plenty of time even when the light goes on... you can get a fair way down under the 'E' line as well... its only when you turn a corner, get on the gas and it misses and splutters that you need to fill up LOL
  20. 1jz head was designed by Yamaha and in my limited knowledge flows better than the RB25 head... but I am sure someone who knows abit more will give you some more specific flow rates
  21. I just make sure I always take it to a garage where there are lots of cars faster and more expensive than mine lying around... which isn't hard;)
  22. ah okay, I will cease to refer to them as R compound
  23. I didn't get them for drags I got them as an everday/circuit tire... mate has been wanting to go to Calder recently and I was wondering if I should leave them on or trash and old set... as for outright grip levels I would have to agree they are only marginally better than the Michelin Pilot sports (best tire I have had on to compare with) but as you have stated the feel and sidewall make for a much more predictable drive... I should really reserve judgement tho, as I haven't pushed them on a track yet
  24. haha geez thanks for all agreeing guys... something to think about I guess... in answer to VHR32 they are definately an 'R' compound semi race tire but yes they have a treadwear rating of 200 which makes them the most streetable of the semis but also I would imagine slower ona track compared to RE55s etc... but thats why I am using them daily rather than keeping them in the shed (I only drive like 2kms to work and back)... if anyone is interested they are lovely to drive on the street with, nice and quiet, great in the wet, they also tramline less than other tires I have had... only downside so far is they are worse in choppy side streets as they don't soak up the bumps as well but an okay trade off when you go round a corner and they don't try and roll onto the tires shoulder blah blah... anyway I am very happy, might even take a regular tired set to Calder and do a back to back comparison
  25. oh dear... out of desperation I just tried the socket from a work colleague's Civic... it fits perfectly... I will stop posting rubbish now... thanks Duncan!
