  1. r u interested in a GXE ? in awsumly good condition inside and out but does need a new Engine.
  2. I think there is some good perspective in your bitch comments, but "little boys and their toys"...? and "Dreaming" ? ( You got a face slap or limp wrist to go with that?) Makes me think youve been on Oxford Street for some time "dreaming" about "little boys and their toys"...more so than any good info you have about cars.... If you want to be real, Id agree cars cost money, nothing is cheep or perfect, so thanks for stating the obvious. These threads are for ppl to share ideas and info, stating the obvious really isnt helpful especially with your Bitch attitude/nature. Stick to your boys and their toys and stay away from cars would be my advice to you, then again, guess im also stating the obvious...
  3. P.S a qualified person will advise u on Mods as well, some may be so extreme it wont be a good idea legally... others may be ok, i don't know what rules apply in QLD for mods, it changes per state but someone qualified will know and advise you when they see the car, initially stick to the first post, look for those things, if it seems to check out that far and u like it, then get it inspected. Talk to a reputable mechanic.
  4. Arrr but did i mention the shear fun youll have dont be disheartened!! Ive driven a LOT of cars over time and Skylines are a serious class of their own! Youll probably end up loving the entire experience and stay with it. Its more than just driving a car, you have clubs social events lots of great people youll get to know, forums are fun to get involved in. Most of these cars really are head turners. I get Loads of compliments on my car where ever I go, and its nice to see your car being appreciated. They all have personalities, they all mean something MUCH more than just a car! It’s a whole experience, not to mention the performance side ☺ ☺ ☺ . When I got into these in the beginning I was a bit ‘iffy’ on it all…. And as much as I complain about Police haha! I wouldn’t have any other car regardless! It’s a Awsum experience. If you love to have something different and a car to be admired, you wont regret owning one of these. All you need to do is stick to advice, make sure someone credible/qualified checks the car before you hand over cash, stick to that and youll be fine.
  5. anyhow, if you were in my shoes what would you have liked to know before you purchased your R34?? Cheers Chris Heya, I had them all MTA inspected. They all looked good on the outside! what a shock after an inspection lol. Nowdays its easy for me BUT id still have the engine checked out, id still have a decent or trusted Mechanic check anything before i buy it. But common things, look in the boot under the carpet, around the seals, where the shocks join into the car particularly, youll see rust in many cars ! Same for the front, check the engine bay around the shocks and seals, youll find rust in so many skylines. I have seen some for sale recently in some car yards where they have tried to sand back the rust, then re paint around the struts and put 17K on them, when in reality, those car will never pass another rego, its a case of buyer seriously beware! Check for accident damage under the car, welds out of place or signs of repairs. I have also seen cars come along that are repairable right offs.... good or bad , could be either pending…. but what i found is many had dodgy work done and unless u hoist the car, you wont see it. Paint miss matches, wear and tear, smoke, obvious stuff is always a no go, ruff cars and faded paint! If it is your first, id get it MTA checked, they will come to the cars location. Dont buy something if you dont know a lot about them, these cars come from so many different backgrounds and fk knows what type of life they have had over time. Also, watch out for mods, spacers, BOV, over sized rims, engine mods, etc, most mods are illegal unless they have been RTA engineered. If you get stopped by Police ( and u will at some point) they will go over your car, any mod that does not have a Eng Cert will probably get defected and or referred to other bodies for approval. These will cost you plenty. Even if a car costs 7K id still have it checked by a credible person let alone 17 or 18K`s worth of car, its a lot of money to blow if it turns out to be a lemon. And what suburb are u in ? I know of a white GTT, front mount intercooler, Turbo timer, K& N pod and custom cover, Nismo R tune G Attack coil overs, 18 inch rims, new tyres 90% tread, 3.5 inch cat back HKS Hi flow, service history, DECC and EPA inspected and approved, RTA engineered as well, it is immaculate, this type of car will check out on all of the above and its asking price is 15K ( i think i have a pic of it here ill try to include) and also I know of another one Bay side blue, i understand its pretty decent as well, If u want ill find out all the info for you, both cars in a Sydney GTR shop.
  6. hey mate, if u r serious about buying that car, tell the owner youll take it IF he re gasses it and obviously it is working, get the money ready, go with him to the workshop to have it done so he knows your serious, on that basis im sure he would be happy to get it done. Also, make it clear if the thing doesnt work after it is regassed your not interested or somthing along those lines. G luk.
  7. tooooo early for me ( or too many drinks later ) .... I read da thing twice didnt see it lol... but yup its a nice car! Id be tempted as i need another one, but i decided on a 34 more so.
  8. Same crappy shit ran on Today tonight, about Redbull doing a controlled roof top stunt. They seem to think that somehow it is Redbulls fault now that hoons exist, and they got some parent/s who lost their kid/s ( being hoons) in fatalities who support crushing cars. These people are suffering understandably !!!! but performance cars don’t automatically make someone a 'hoon', the way people drive does not owing a performance car. Its an excuse to further regulate and over control the car enthusiast market, makes cops feel like big brave soldiers and give pollies votes to see legislation passed to car crush (like they care about people). They gave the crushing stats for VIC, QLD and NSW which had about 154 cars crushed per year ( NSW ) with the other states closer to 4,000 cars per year. Seems like the message was to get NSW up to 'speed' with the other states who crush cars. It makes good news for networks that are in debt and cannot afford to produce quality news as well. Cheap crappy stories and life style stories is all the go when you have no money.
  9. Good read on this thread! its been really helpful as im about to do this whole thing as well, what to buy, how to find it, where to go, interstate mebbie and so on and so on ..... it may be a hard task but im not in a massive rush. Some of those cars mentioned in the first post by bob are still around ... like the silver one out at Master Cars, not to trash that car as i have not seen it, but i wonder why its still there after all this time. Ive noticed really decent GTRS sell str8 away when they come along,,. Ill keep my eyes on posts and so on, see what happens.
  10. Im an expert at being defected for my Mods despite having them Engineered. ALL of them! Including EPA, RTA, and DECC inspected and approved, even my rego sticker has a code to match the mod approvals from RTA yet I am still able to be defected because as the charming most professional cops say " we dont think it should comply and if you disagree take it to court" So what good is an ENG Cert really!!!! Waste of money. As for the validity of my Eng Cert, paper work, approvals, written in gold, signed sealed and stamped by every nation on the globe by law….. the RTA have said that all pre existing engineering certs issued prior to 22nd Dec 2011 WILL be honored BUT the car cannot be modded pretty much AFTER that date. I dont see wtf all of this shit means really anyways when one can still be defected by the Police for doing the right thing. I guess in one sense , when I take my car into get the defects removed, the mechanics see the paper work and clear the defect/s where as without the paper work that wouldn't happen.
  11. Heya Will, I feel sorry for u, I was suspended agggggges ago for a parking fine (apparently) and for whatever reason. I didn't get the physical ticket from the window of my car so how would i know i was booked...., as it wasn't there...... People take them and put them on their cars so it looks like they have already been booked to avoid actually being booked. Anyway they said they sent two letters, one from RTA and one from State Debt Recovery to say my license was being suspended. I did not receive either letter, I had no other notices or warnings, etc ( nothing!) . 12 months later on at an RBT I was told my license had been suspended yet I had been driving AOK all that time without knowing (12 months) . I got a $1,000 dollar fine or some crappy amount like that for drive unlicensed but it was dismissed in court ( I took it to court and won) But I paid the parking fine and all was good, BUT i wasn't on my P`s. What i hate is that they cancel licenses by way of Post IF IN FACT they send the letter/s at all…. I really wonder if they send letters in the first place, seriously! so many ppl have this same problem and they cant all be wrong. The system sucks to rely on some letter, they should send things THAT important by registered post, then there can be no arguments and the driver is NOT left unaware, no License and no insurance etc. The system always has sucked when it comes to motorists, great source of revenue!! As for your matter, I'm not a solicitor so i don't know for sure, BUT a Solicitor who deals with Traffic Matters will know the answer and as a first consultation it wont cost you a cent to find out. One thing is true with some of my lil mates who are on their P`s, and that is when they get done speeding, even 8 ks over for one of my friends, the courts don't let them off, the fines might be reduced and even the suspension time but no one I know has ever been totally let off so to speak without spending at least some time off the road… Good luck with it but speak with a Solicitor fo sho!!
  12. That would totally NOT be street legal in NSW , but is that any surprise, really! NSW is the crappiest state for anything 'fun' or that doesnt conform. The cops here would be all over that like a dog in a meat house! If i was gonna buy that, id register a business name up in QLD, pay the extra for business rego and keep it rego`d there, then bring it interstate
