  1. Went for the first Car wash in Japan after getting her, It's not easy to just wash your own car on your driveway in Japan so made my way to the nearest self service car wash. Gotta work on what type of products to buy in Japan since I can't read most things haha, Just a bit of self-satisfaction, next up would be a good service just in case, and possibly a suspension refresh and detailing to swap over any rusted bolts and bits!
  2. Thanks man, gonna take good care of it and enjoy her as much as I can
  3. Hey, It wasn’t on the cheap side, good ones are getting less in numbers due to so many being shipped out to the US, I’d say around 4 million yen, was the price I paid. I suggest if anyone is looking to import a R32 GTR from Japan, you have to dig pretty deep, the ones on the surface are pretty crazy in pricing for a clean one, and the shitters still go for around 2- 2.8 million yen.
  4. Hey Rob, cheers for the input, ill look into some yahoo auctions to see if I can pick up a deal, might drive to Nismo tomorrow to check out the options
  5. Hi Guys, It's been a while, I am a Kiwi who moved over to Japan a few years back and have settled in Tokyo. I have always loved the R32, have owned a couple of GTST's before and since I am in Japan now, decided to go for gold and score the best possible BNR32 I can get my hands on. The car arrived on a truck a few days back and gotta say, as it is my dream car, no words can explain my joy at the moment, Nismo and Nissan have been on the ball resupplying the parts for the R32, and I have no shortage of parts supply if something needs attention for now... I guess that is one of the advantages of living here, During the whole purchasing ordeal, there has been a lot of processes involved and Japan in my opinion, has their way of doing things, so no let's wing it attitude sits in well with these folks lol. It took a couple of weeks to get the Japanese version of WOF called "Shaken" but overall, besides the RIDICULOUS parking costs, all was pretty smooth. I miss NZ where you can just park on your own driveway, In Tokyo, you will be doing well if you find one below $300 per month. Now Let's Talk about the car, Pretty standard, nothing in the engines has been touched, currently tuned to 380ps. Model 1991 Skyline GTR R32 BNR32 Milage: 47000km Engine: Stock Turbo: Twin HKS 2510, HKS turbine outlet Cooling: ARC intercooler, HKS IC piping kit, Intake: ARC Super Induction box Exhaust: Apex front pipe, Apex RS muffler, Suspension / Drivetrain: HKS reinforced clutch (I think it's a twin push type early model, absolute B**itch to drive in in traffic, real narrow biting point and very sensitive), Ohlins suspension, Tein pillow ball tension rod Brakes: Winmax brake pads Electrical: HKS EVC5, Tomei Speedometer, Trust gauges in the glovebox, Defi Boost gauge on Steering wheel column Will provide pics soon Interior: Nismo seat covers, Italvolanti steering wheel Wheel: Volkracing CE28N 8.5X17 +22 , Tires: Dunlop Direzza Z3 255-40-17 I may have missed something but this is the current status of the car. I don't plan to go tracking but want to escape the city on the weekends to explore the less populated areas of Japan, I will probably be on the sensible side when it comes to driving on foreign lands. I absolutely love the car after taking it out on the highway, it was an absolute pleasure to dive, the sound, the pull everything was better than I hoped. I should be posting the slight issue on another section but as I have your attention, I wished to ask you guys quickly. On the way back, from the very awesome drive, some car far ahead had an accident in the tunnel and I ended up being stuck in heavy traffic, I have a clutch setup which seems to be one of the worst most sensitive (only on 1st year, either from standstill, or rolling very slowly), unforgiving setups I have ever driven, NOT fun stuck in traffic jam for an hour, If you guys have any suggestions for a street usable/friendly clutch ideas, please feel free to let me now, something that does not give you a dead leg even if you are stuck behind traffic, and something that allows a smoother start on 1st gear, right now, I have to give it gas about 2-3000rpm and release the clutch very very gently or the ting just tries to launch and hop etc. I have heard the Nismo twin plate? ones were good, but not sure it will be better than my old HKS setup and in what way, my one feels very sensitive (narrow biting point if that makes sense) they can be a pain to drive in traffic etc.. Anyways, Thank you for reading my post and I wish to catch up with any GTR owners based in Tokyo! hit me up if you are around.
  6. hi as above, I need a GREDDY Multi D/A Gauge 3 in 1 preferably the boost face. hope someone has one to sell me...
  7. Yeah its stock, just wanted to know before I push it too far, but been keeping it well below 6000rpm
  8. Just a quick question, what would the safe boost level be for my current set up? Is it about 1bar? Or 11-12psi?
  9. hello all, I recently got my hands on a 93 R32 GTST and wanted to fix some issues bugging me The car is tidy with no major faults but need help detecting some issues before I take it to a workshop. The issue is in the ignition. The car starts up fine when cold, but when she gets warm after driving around, starting her back up is noticebly harder like 5 seconds plus. Some members of the forum suggested it may be the cas but not too sure and want some help to see if it really could be the case. I'm located in christchurch and wanted to meet some people to talk car stuff locally. Please let me know if anyone can help or want to meet up etc thanks for reading.
  10. thanks, will see if i can find someone local from here.
  11. I could only find the Ross tuff bond trigger kit that costs like 3000 installed which seems like overkill for a non track car who isn't hunting for massive power
  12. I've read up on some articles and most will probably agree the rb engines don't have the greatest design when it comes to the reliability of cas. What would be the most cost effective way of reducing this problem? Would it be worth installing a trigger wheel of some sort? The car starts fine when cold, But when it's been driven for a while it seems to take longer to start thereafter, so hadouken suggested a possible cas issue. I just wanna see if there are any options before I go out and buy a new cas that costs around $500 just to see it have problems in a year or two
  13. Thank you! I will start a new thread soon, can't really call it a build but will do a few nice touches to the car as time goes
  14. Well thank you, it's been a lot of help. And as for tints.. Guess that's next after an alarm
  15. I dont think I will, its not like i'll boost unnecessarily in town, I think turbo timers are rarely needed for a daily driver to be honest Anyone have tints on their car? I heard its pretty good for uv protection and heat minimization as well..?
  16. good advice, will do, and of course, i'll have to alarm it. i'm getting a Autowatch on it tomorrow, had to fix a AFM issue first
  17. always the first to answer!, thanks hadouken~ GTR Bonnet huh?, well guess so, the car came with GTR lights and bumper after all... maybe its worth gettin a grill and a bonnet + latch
  18. hey guys, I've posted some new pics on the forum http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/459359-back-again-with-a-new-ride/ does anyone know what the can looking thing in the 7 th picture is?
  19. anyone know what that can looking thing is in the 7th picture? cheers
  20. hi all! just wanted to say hello again, I joined SAU 6 years ago but since then alot has happened and I sold my Skyline R32, which I regretted. Now i'm back with my fresh new import! I've been wanting to get another R32 for a while, and found this 1993 GTS-T with genuine 67km on the clock! It seems like it had a few minor mods like Greddy Strut brace, ARC super induction box, Sickspeed oil reservoir (still dont know what it does) and aftermarket intercooler. Look forward to making it a daily driver, not after ridiculous power, and want to leave the engine alone as much as possible. I like a quick spooler. planning on a Nistune + Z32 AFM upgrade with a HKS 2530 if I can find one..... but seems non existent these days, If anyone has any sggestions, please let me know
  21. ah! Cam angle sensor.... that makes sense, ill have a look in to it. thank you
  22. Just confirmed, it's worse when the car is warm. It starts fine when it's cold... I'm puzzled... I thought it would be worst in the opposite situation.
  23. Hi all, as per title, wanting to upgrade my stock ceramic turbo in to a 2530. Need the full bits to make it work with the rb20det. Can pay good price, pm me or let me know if you have them in very good condition or by off chance, new.
