  1. So, we have a separate gearbox computer right? Is there any way it would work to swap with the 350z one despite the 2wd/4wd difference? I would love it if mine changed exactly when I wanted not when it decided it felt like doing it.....
  2. Yep, the service was awesome.....thanks again craig! Removing and reinstalling the vb really is quite easy, it's just messy and transmission fluid is seriously stinky. I took craigs advice and left a drop sheet down, then tossed it afterwards. It took me a little while to get the fluid levels right as what I assumed was the cold level (the cross hatched area on the dipstick) meant that once hot, the levels were totally wrong and didnt line up with the "hot"'markers...... Once that was sorted though, the car is sooooo much better to drive. Better in drive, better in manual, super smooth on light throttle, nice and firm when you get your foot into it. In short, get Craig to modify the vb and do the removal/Instal yourself!
  3. How about one of these : Electronic clutch
  4. Justjap seem to have what you want.
  5. Under the air filter there is a perfect spot for my second catch can. Amazingly I also found an unused threaded hole in the chassis rail! Mr Nissan must have known I would need one! The driver's side was more problematic for me as the can I bought is too big. It's jammed in the brake booster compartment for now til I get a smaller one.
  6. So today I got my car back on the road..... It started with the purchase of a legalis exhaust I found on EBay. Fitted up perfectly and sounded great but then there was a fair bit of turbo whine... I decided that I wanted a full exhaust system so I got Scott down in Melbourne to make me up a dump pipe. Before I fitted it though, it seemed pointless to pay for a new front pipe and high flow cat if the turbo was about to crap itself and spit the ceramic blades into it. So off came the turbo (I got a quote from a place in Brisbane for remove, rebuild and refit for $4200............so I removed it my self, with some guidance from Craig (jetwreck) and precision turbos in Sydney high flowed it for around $1300!) While turbo was off, I thought I might as well change the intercooler to the HDI kit. Cameron (iamhe77) got me a great deal and as he also had the plenum spacer kit, I got that as well. This led to two catch cans so my new shiny intake didn't get covered in oil. Finally I was a bit concerned that the injectors might be near their limit so I put an order in with Andy (andy65b) for an informeter to keep an eye on things. End result...... Foot down, bit of lag, holy crap this thing is fast! It now absolutely rips. Thankfully though I bought the informeter. With boost set at the previous level, at 60% throttle it hit 16 psi and the injectors hit 99%....... A liitle too close for my liking. So now back down to 14psi and injectors are at 90% which still gives awesome acceleration! As a side note, there was a bit of a rattle under the car after I picked the car up from the exhaust shop. I assumed the new front pipe was hitting the body but when I checked, it turned out to be the hanger for the tail shaft was extremely loose. The nuts had worked themselves almost off and the shaft was able to move all over the place. I'd recommend checking yours as it would have been a little nasty if it had come loose..... .....and we're expecting a little boy in September......
  7. I'm very keen to do this mod as well...... If somebody (Scott or Aaron) could do a post which summarized "why" and "how to" that would be brilliant. Would also help those searching in the future! Thanks guys!
  8. Hey Sean, I just had my turbo done at precision turbos and asked for the same specs as andy's. I posted it from Brisbane($20 aus post) and it was done within a week for $1350. Should be arriving back today...... Hopefully!
  9. Perhaps the issue at stall is just an input to the ecu from the brake. Maybe the nismo has this turned off but for those of us without "awesome", we could just cut the wire....
  10. Is the throttle restriction in all gears and at all speeds or is it just first gear and under roughly 30km/h as it feels? Perhaps it would be possible to trick the ecu into thinking it was in a higher gear or already going faster whilst still in first? Does the throttle body ever open 100%
  11. How did you remove the throttle restriction ?
  12. I'd really like to check out the banjo restrictor as the whining has been getting louder from my turbo (the whining has been getting louder from the passenger seat since the new exhaust aswell but that's a different story......) I've read that the restrictor is on the block but where is it exactly? Should I approach it from the top or from underneath? Hopefully checking this and doing a flush will extend the life of my turbo a little.
  13. I changed my exhaust today from the Raizer muffler that came on the car to a Fujitsubo Legalis Cat back system that I picked up on Ebay for $600..... OMG!!! The performance difference is MASSIVE. So.......I had a look inside the old muffler.........do you think this might have been restricting flow a little ?
  14. Thanks guys! I just installed a fujitsubo cat back exhaust and the performance difference is HUGE......so i'd like to know what the turbo is up to!
  15. Just trying to instal my new autogauge boost gauge and need some wiring help. There are two connections to the acc and parking lamp wires. Does anyone know the colours of these and a good place to tap into them. I'd prefer not to use the lighter socket....
  16. Unfortunately the cam angle sensors are on the back of the engine, it would be much easier on the front! The passenger side isn't too bad but the drivers side is very well hidden....
  17. I replaced both of mine recently after the same issue........seems to be fine now. Drivers side : 23731-6J906 is now 23731-6J90B and Passenger side : 23731-AL616 is now 23731-AL61A Nissan charged me $350
  18. Me being in Brisbane is not going to help you then.......sorry
  19. The "auto" button is the same as mine but it just prevents the wing mirrors from turning downwards when you are in reverse. "too slow, same as my car compared to scotts!" The small aerial looking socket to the right is also the same as mine which came with a strange looking key which presses into it. Apparently this is an immobiliser. Do you have a key ? Where are you located ?

    M35 Info

This has probably been posted before but I just stumbled upon this site which appears to be an online shop dedicated to the m35 ! (I was trying to decipher Japanese on the yahoo auction site and happened to click on the link!) auto-style (You'll need google to translate)
  21. Thanks for the offer but I'm up in Brisbane. My car has done over 100,000k so I'm happy to have a fresh one.
  22. Thanks! Today I replaced both cam angle sensors after the stalling experience at 60km/h. The passenger side one was fine but the drivers side was a real pain in the ass. Anyway, no error codes or stalling so far so hopefully that problem is fixed. My Stag is also surging a little bit under part throttle which I've heard can be caused by an old 02 sensor so I've ordered a new one from NIssan. Hopefully everything will be in order before my newly purchased Impul ECU arrives from Japan !
  23. Excuse my noobieness but where is the maf sensor on the m35? Is it directly behind the air filter or up on top of the engine after the intercooler pipe?
  24. Yesterday my car stalled while cruising at about 60km/h, luckily on a back street, and then threw this code at me aswell (0340). I want to replace both cam angle sensors as there are no silver or white dots indicating a recall was done in japan. Just want to check that the part numbers above are correct (Scotty seemed a little unsure) so I can order them from my friendly Nissan dealer...
