  1. I agree def. import is the way to go. Provided you buy from a Japanese auto auction you wont go wrong.. I imported my 2009, V36 GT37, SP full luxury pack; sourced it myself directly from auction with complete docs, only 23,000km and in mint condition!! I have purchased a number of imports this way over the years and not once have I had a problem with ODO or vehicle condition. I also continually check out the auction market on a regular basis just to see whats available. You can get yourself a good V35 for the price tag you mentioned. But if you have the finances and can upgrade to the V36 I say, GO FOR IT!! You wont look back! You can get a 07-08, V36 SP, less than 40,000km, grade 4-4.5, for max. 45K. My advice, first, decide what you really want and how much you can spend! If you need some more info or help searching your car drop me a line and I'll be happy to help!! You can also check out my V36 which is for sale.
  2. You would be suprised I keep seeing cars week after week passing through and they are still not budging on price. In fact there's one car that has been coming up an a weekly basis for more than 8months now and they still haven't moved from 3.4mil. From previous experiences I have had the Japanese to be very stringent and ridged on price and very few come down. 2200 for compliance is damn cheap!!!!!!!! Its 3500-3800 in Sydney. Alkatraz, you sure did get lucky is all I can say!
  3. sorry typo- certainly would NOT do that herewas what I was meant to write.
  4. Then all I can say is you must have got your car for a very very good buy! Just been looking at daily auction closes and 08s are selling for 2.7mil+. But def. agree with you about being unique. Was living in Europe for a while and always thought it be nice to cruise around in a good HSV but certainly would do that here in Oz. But the great thing about having a v36 and one that has infiniti badges you just see ppl driving past turning and then slowing down waitin for you to drive past so they can see what the car is LOL. and others speeding up in your review mirror trying to source out this beauty. That certainly doesnt happen when your in a bmer, too many around but not with the V36-love it!
  5. def. US would be the place to look, very pricy in Japan and a rare find inOz.
  6. Now lets be honest and realistic, if you have access to japanese auction houses and look at current V36 prices in Japan then adding compliance, duties, freight etc. and all other on road cost top of the range 08 SP V36s, in mint condition, with max of 30,000, one owner and grades of 4.5+ will cost approx.50K+. Now for you say your getting ripped if your paying more than 50 for up to 09 just isnt realistic. I think anyone that has access to japan auction houses and can see how much skylines are selling for will agree. no to mention if your looking for a SP with sunroof price will be slightly higher given that only 10% of V36 have a sunroof. Having owned a 320 convertible can definitely say the interior of the V36 is MUCH MUCH more pristine the dash and interior space of the V36 far out weighs the BMW.
  7. Overall this top of the range SP definitely out passes many European a-likes by far.. esp. when comparing all aspects: performance, aesthetics, luxury, efficiency and price.. You cant go wrong with a V36 370GT. Therefore, I say if you can, definitely get the best of the pack by going for the full option 09 or better. But at the end of the no matter how much one may describe a V36 it is not until you actually see it in the flesh that you really begin to appreciate it!
  8. Infiniti being released in Australia??? That's news to me.. When is this meant to be happening?? Colour is always personal preference. I always thought black looked the best, but having compared it to the others colours, esp. my vibrant red 370gt coupe, I do agree that black does tend to choke the beautiful curves of the coupe. I find sleek the vibrant red really accentuates the sports car appearance of the coupe. It also attracts a hell of a lot of attention on the roads. You just see the heads turning and re-turning as you cruise by. The coupe is very roomy having had a 2door Rav 4, the v36 has massive space and legroom for back seat passengers. But certainly a 4door would be more practical for multiple passengers. I preferred the 09 and think its definitely a much better buy than the 08, especially when Im currently seeing SP 08s selling for anywhere up to 60K. This being the case I definitely went for the 09 model and would recommend an 09 esp. when you add the additional features its well worth it. SP tan leather, woodgrain trim, sunroof, 7 speed semi-auto, and the list just goes on and on and on .. Just look at this little beauty!
  9. No listed on carsales yet. Also as I had said no 2009 coupes on car sales none in the Oz market. SO much so that carsales doesn't have it in it drop down menu option when trying to listed the ad for this car. This beauty wont last long!!!!
  10. Yes I did see it in the carsales like theres 2 a pearl white, and platinum one dont know if its the same dealer. Must say VERY nice!!!!! But I think if it had red leathers that would be the icing on the cake.. Looks like I know what my next machine is gonna be .
  11. Hi Adam, totally agree with Mike, you would need to go for an SP model if you want the complete package- Full leather, heated seats, memory seats, reverse and side camera, xenon, built in sat nav etc.. Just to let you know only 10% of all V36 have a sunroof, which not only make sunroof V36s hard to come by price generally goes up as a result of this. The 2009 V36 have a few additional benefits like the self healing paint etc.. but you wont find a 2009 model in the Australian market. Importers tend to import 07 or 08s. I currently have a 2009 SP which Im selling. I personally sourced and imported it from Japan myself, ensuring I got only best with genuine mileage with complete auction sheet documents stipulating full specs of the car. It is top of the range even its SP class, with additional options; it has tan leather interior rather than the standard black leather and wood grain trim including sunroof and 22" Italian Giovanna chrome rims. Not to mention all the other goodies like heated seats, memory seats, reverse and side camera, xenon, built in sat nav, tiptronic, titanium paddle shifts and full electrics. Its in immaculate condition and has very recently been fully serviced. I can honestly say I dont think you'll find a better condition V36 esp. with this many additional options. PM if you would like to see some pics or need more details.
  12. if you do get it done let us know what u think!!
  13. does any one have knowledge or has seen a V36 convertible here in Oz? Abit of conflicting info out there on the web.. read up on prestige motor sports.com.au no chance of importing it in here doesn't qualify with SEVS but have seen it on the raws site. So whats to go??
  14. Nice set of wheels shame its gotta go.. "I am just hoping the car goes to a good home." totally agree- Thats what we all hope when selling.. Ive put my V36 up for sale in the classifieds section.. Do you reckon Id get more interest n viewings if Id listed it in this section ("Vseries") of the forum??
  15. time to let this beauty go..... In Immaculate Condition, top of the range and recently serviced!! 16. Massive turnout. Saw one small prang on the way down, well maybe not to small, the front end of a Silvia was gone.. I thought the organisation wasnt very good. Too many cars, so police ended up closing off the entrance in to the park. Then ended up closing the road further up 'cos of the traffic pile up. We parked further up the street and walked down to the area, made our donation and got our sticker. Nothing special at the EQUESTRIAN PARK. I thought they could have had more entertainment and events occurring at the grounds. Still a nice day to enjoy a drive in a beautiful Skyline!!
  17. All for a great cause. hope the weather holds out.. looking forward to cruising in da skyline
  18. Skyline Crossover very nice car!! Has been available in Europe for some time now LH drive badged as Infiniti FX35- very stylish. Finally available in RH drive. Been looking at this beauty for some time and just recently saw it has been added to the RAWS list and available for import. Woo hoooo!! Certainly nothing like the Dualis or the Murano.
  19. I would definitely say auto. Manual sports cars like Skylines with high horse power which are mainly driven at low gears in traffic on suburban streets and roads tend to consume more fuel. Also the great thing about being auto - tiptronic rather, you can drive it both as auto while stuck traffic and triptronic when you want to get the edge out of your sports car. This flexibility is not available with manuals. In regards to the interior, suede does not wear well in hot climates. Contrary to leather/suede wearing better, body perspiration in warm weather does not wear well with suede. Suede upholstery has a tendency to stain long term from body perspiration. An SP interior with full leather can easily be wiped down and regularly maintained but you can't do this with suede. Another added bonus of the SP type is it has the added luxury of heated seats.
  20. Thanks Beau, Its an old thread but has been very helpful. Been having the same problem since reformatting my pc- boxes rather than Japanese characters appear. Tried googling it but no go. Your instructions for installing language options have finally put months of frustration to an end. THANKS!!!! Sam
