  1. Actually no i don't think so unless the mechanics did after installing the exhaust ill have a crack see if it makes a difference Cheers
  2. serious? Ok i got a mate think he has a stock working spare ill try that. Yea i know that's issue i did hear on here someone was using a nistune in a auto without issues but i dunno..
  3. It's not that they dont excist its more the point that a majority of private sales and car salesman are known for altering the k's on these .. getting a 94 r33 even r32 what 89? at this time is crazy to think that they have 60,xxx+ks genuine on the clock unless of course as you have said have had a family member special circumstances etc different scenario.. I mean to goto a say any car salesmen for him tell you, hey i have this awesome 94 r33 skyline with 60,000ks on the clock... is kinda hard to belive you know.. it is 2012... and these cars have stopped production.. right. P.S back on topic going to wire in a z32afm see how it goes. Had one i have yet to put in.
  4. Cheers mate, Yea doesnt spit flames lol just heavy backfire on decel smells very rich and fumes out heavy u can see it running up bumper spits out a little soot looks like aswell exhaust and tip of the bumper where it hits covered in it.. (like seeing heat coming up off a road on a hot day really heavy though) .. doesnt smoke out on boost or anything either ... Yea stock bov.. ill jack it up tonight and check
  5. ill check it again cheers regardless, i asked a few questions didnt really get much of a answer in regards to the stock ecu not being effected by the mods being more air flow etc and just a opinion on replacing the turbo before increasing the psi regarding its amount of k's.. Ive read the threads regarding highflowing a stock turbo etc.. There isnt that much i could find regarding ecu with a automatic as most is just got to do with manuals. No problems anyways thanks for input
  6. So is it worth keeping the stock turbo or am i better off just pulling it out and getting it highflowed or even a bolt on though due its age and wanting to increase boost.. or is it just like no point replacing it if theres nothing currently wrong with it. Also ive been told getting it chipped etc is a little hard due to my car being a auto etc? I mean how much faith can i leave in a turbo that has done 185,000ks then to up the boost to put more strain on it..
  7. When i say hasnt been boosted its whole life i mean.... it hasnt had its boost increased at all from factory.. aka "Boosted" sorry you didnt understand, ill check for leaks i doubt it though has been through major service all filters sparks were changed after fmic install as it was miss firing at the time.. Doesnt the stock ecu not run correctly with mods and leans out making it run rich? Was just told dont know if theres any truth to it.. cheers for replies
  8. Yep i had it replaced when exhaust was put on :S Seems fine
  9. Hey guys, Just few questions my r33 s1 skyline seems to be running pretty rich to the point its fumming i guess out the back and staining rear bumber just above the tip, Now im told this is normal due to the mods i have and it not being tuned being ,3" inch xforce exhaust turbo back and Fmic .. hasnt been boosted completly stock, Besides the shocking fuel economy is it anything to worry about in the long run it isnt backfiring fire or anything to that extreme just notice the fumes really strong can see it coming out the back. My plan is to get it tuned after upping the boost as i dont want to tune it till ive done stage 1 mods atleast. Also am i better off replacing the turbo before it dies possibly rebuilding (high flowing) etc or wait till it happens just i say this due to it being a s1 turbo with original ks which is "185,000kms" and i hear these turbos are kinda fragile after such a long use that im scared once i put a bbost controller on and up the boost the turbo wont handle it for long.. Hasnt been boosted at all its whole life just thinking because of its age,l am i just better of replacing it with a bolt or (high flowing) or keeping it till it happens.. It's just a cruiser not a track car but i hear high flowing the stock ones are a cheaper option . p.s sorry about the spelling and bad sentence structure as im on a smartphone Cheer's
  10. Hey guys would a set of 18"s 9.5 and +26 with 255/35 tyres all round fit fine without any issues on a four door r33gtst stock height?
  11. Yep stock bov, Timing belt and harmonic balancer were replaced recently though by "professionals"
  12. Hye guy's, Quick problem ive recently ran into on my r33 when given my car a quick rev the revs will go up as usual but nearly drop so far as to stall? Also at quick take offs from a stop sometimes feels like its going to stall ..(Hasnt yet) Car is auto basically stock besides Fmic, exhaust, I do know the coil packs are original and looking worse to wear could this possibly be the issue? Maby AFM?
  13. The balancer is a composite device made up of metal and rubber parts. There's a layer of rubber which after many ks of use will start to crack etc... Which is a indication to replace it ....
  14. Yea i know it isnt the issue the rubber is starting to crack hince why im changing it, I rarely hear a noise when its warm or gone for a drive its when i start it up and a min later it occurs and sometimes when ever. Bearings were replaced so only option could be the cam cover possibly but ill check again when i do the balancer. I also agree allot people have been hating the gates belt for the common noise etc I'll probably do the same thing.
  15. Yea mine makes the noise regardless of if i use the ac or not but im gonna replacing the harmonic balancer soon so ill have another closer look see if i can find the issue.
  16. Well i originaly thought it was the timing belt or bearing etc... but i had it recently replaced with a whole new gates racing belt kit which came with new Idler Bearing etc which actually appears to have made the noise louder. Can only hear it at idle, drove it the other day got back home had a listen nothing noise wasnt there. Comes and goes it seems. But always comes after a min after a cold start and slowly gets louder.
  17. "I asked the mechanic if he took it off he got pretty nervous and denied it but he said he noticed it was loose..." He noticed it was loose? What a champ, be nice if some mechanics to go above and beyond and tighten some noticeble bolts/clips up geez Like one i had simple thing as a vaccum hose told me my boost gauge had stop working (stock one) get it home and the vaccum hose had split and broken dangiling around near my thermo fan...
  18. Hard to tell from inside, a outside video drive by would be good .. My auto gtst does a bang aswell when flooring it (3inch xforce turbo back) sounds like a loud drone/bang noise or "ka doom" coming from the cannon when it shifts into gear for a second (occurs sometimes) just back pressure i believe..oh btw i always use the 98 octane to from bp
  19. Maby the mechanic for shits and gigglez loosend up the front bar as a sick joke lol.. jk
  20. LOL that's comedy gold how can you not take that serious i just wanna buy it after reading it, i dont even care if it goes LOL
  21. Yea excactly ive always been partial to 4 doors There are heaps of r33 4door gtst kicking around for sale though they are usually little cheaper as allot of people prefer the coupes 7psi from factory if i remember dont quote me on that lol. And to answer you're other question well its just another thing to go wrong i guess lol worst could happen is you're turbo gives out but stock replacements are easy to find and the stock ones do last awhile they can handle upto around 12psi if remember safely. I havent found it more expensive so far compared to my old r33 na i had previously i mean i guess ive spent more on mods because theres more options etc but not in terms of maintence just do regular oil changes with good grade oil and dont go nuts on upping the boost Treat you're car like you would treat a good women and she'll look after you I
  22. Yea i agree with the above i found majority of cases cheaper to buy privately specially if you know what to look for, i got my 4door gtst stock as a rock from a old couple for 6k , also as above its cheaper to buy a gtst even a nicely modified one then to replace the engine for a det specially if you get a mechanic to do it for you, people do it dont get me wrong just all about how much coin you really wanna spend and how much hassel you can deal with.
  23. 190,000ks isnt really that much these engine can do quite allot of k's if looked after and regualry maintained, unless you're considering tracking the car i wouldnt bother paying for a new engine, though in regards to more power, i would personally as stated above get a gtst etc More power less money trying to get big gains then doing internals etc on a NA
  24. How can you tell exactly it doesnt seem to be vibrating or anything but i did the old end of the screwdriver trick to listen in and does seem to be the loudest there? Could it just be in the wrong position or faulty its noticbly louder though since after installing the belt if that helps :S
  25. Hey guys recently changed a timing belt (whole kit) thinking the noise was the belt which had to replaced regardless was original :S This noise seems to be accuring on idle anyone have a idea what else it could be ? Appears to come and go aswell... http://www.youtube.c...h?v=TAceG7N7qGU Cheers in advance
