  1. Tell me about it mate! I think I must be killing black cats and walking under ladders in my sleep...
  2. Well car has made 285rwkw's @ 20psi with a boost leak (injectors not sealing with plenum... farking plenum!), with 11.4 AFR's and only one cam timing change which is very promising... but now water is mixing with oil and we don't know why. I managed 1 lap of Sandown before I had to come in due to some oil spray on the manifold, and checked the dipstick to see a milky surprise. Head gasket as replaced last week, head was decked and ever since then it's leaked. It's coming out again... A dyno vid here, as well as a few pics from Sandown: http://project180sx.blogspot.com/
  3. Looks the goods Trent. Great looking engine bay too
  4. Nathan has told me that it will be announced at the end of the month
  5. Shall do mate. I'm heading there tomorrow so I'll ask him then. I'd say yours makes more power across a broader range at the moment. I think once the boost leak is sorted it will improve a lot though but we'll see.
  6. I wouldn't know Matt, I haven't driven it! I'd say it weighs in around the 1100-1150kg mark with everything taken out, but the cage added in. But I'll get it weighed soon enough once it's working. It felt pretty quick on the 250 or so rwkw's I ran ever so briefly at Sandown so 285 sounds promising. Graph attached mate. It lost some power through the mid range with the cam timing change from it's initial Winton-last-minute tune, but gained a heap up top. Boost response is identical to what it was with 240rwkw's, and on the same boost level it makes a 45rwkw gain. It's also running 11.4 AFR's as we had a boost leak at the injectors so were running on the safe side in case they decided to seal up while I was running, so there should be a bit more in it at the same boost level. Troy: Stay with the 240 mate. This was not worth the expense and hassles, despite the nice figure. I'm sure it will be great when it's all sorted but I could have been racing this whole time and that I won't get back. But as Russ said, if I were to do it again I'd buy a crate engine. 285 Pre-Winton last minute tune 2lt tune, same turbo setup
  7. Well the engine builders don't think it's the sleeves as they don't protrude, and a new head gasket went in 2 days ago. Head was also just faced up when I removed it to fix a minor oil leak. It's very odd... and super frustrating. This is the third headgasket to go into it now (original, second as a precaution after one of the valves was found to be 3mm longer than the rest and head removed, then this one a few days ago), head has been off twice, and entire engine out twice. A buggered oil pump: fixed... then a longer valve: fixed... minor oil leak from head: fixed... then what we thought was a leaking headgasket: fixed... and now milky oil Just had it tuned at 285rwkw's @ 20psi and didn't even get to use it!

  9. Hey Kev, do you recommend doing one of the more beginner courses first, or would this be ok for a fist time with few years driving experience?
  10. Awesome stuff Russ, told you you'd do it mate! Glad you made it through the spin too mate... wowzers. As for my car, gosh darn built engines is all I can say. Oil on manifold forced me to come in after 1 lap, which is lucky I did as I have a water sealing problem so water in the oil. Engine is coming back out this week and going back to the engine builders to find out what the issue is.
  11. A few Vic guys are running them and I've heard nothing but good things from them. I've also spoken with an STi driver, and while he really liked the tyre they had quite a fast wear rate on his and a customers car. The owners of the lighter R32 and S13's I'm referring to above have found good wear though, so I'm not sure. I'll probably be trying out a set after my RE's are gone.
  12. I've shot Darren an email about entering so hopefully all goes well this weekend...
  13. I reckon go black fo them, will look tough
  14. Is it out now mate? Might go pick it up.
  15. You and me both mate!
  16. I don't even know what a money order is Edit: Just looked it up, sounds better
  17. Cheque?? Wowzers! The Piarc Sprints were the same... agreed, get with the times yo! I don;t have a cheque book either... bank cheque??
  18. I'm not going on the 31st so am pretty keen. Do you know if entries are still open?
  19. Damper can be played with, and it will take some harshness from the ride up. If that's not enough though then it's new springs and revalving. From memory adjustment is clockwise - higher, anti - lower.
  20. They're jap spec, so have 6kg/5kg springs and they're to suit an s13. Damper rate is adjustable. Dane
  21. Hey all, Upgrading to some KW's so am selling my Super Streets. They are in absolutely perfect condition. They have done around 1500km's I'd say, so obviously no leaks or damage. You're more than welcome to come and check them out, and as they're still in the car you can feel that they're like new. I bought them around 3 years ago, but only used them for a few months before I pulled the car off the road for a full rebuild. I don't have it back yet so still as they were. They are excellent coilovers for street and light track work. Retailers are selling these for $2100+ with camber tops. My price: $1200 PM or reply here Dane
  22. Garry: You weren't kidding when you said the KW's were pricey. I enquired with East Coast Suspension and they're $6085.00 for the Clubsports for an S13! I guess importing it is...
  23. Thanks for the info Matt. I'd look forward to seeing the dyno if you track it down.
