  1. I did Grant. The M3 was a great car and if wasnt able to trade with this GTR, would have happily kept it and enjoyed ownership. The detail on this R32 is amazing, each time I go over I see another kool feature or jst simply the cleaness of it. Will be driven a few days a week but wont see many Kms at all and have my wife cars for rainy days. Looking forward to turning this R32 into one of the best in OZ over the next few years
  2. Hey Guys, Just picked up this R32 GTR with an R33 N1 Eng and R34 N1 Turbos with 35,000kms on them. Car has Volk C28s and VSpec 2 Brembo's up front. Car is full of goodies and is set up for track work and makes 320KW at the wheels. Apexi PFC, Oil Ctach Can, Teflon Breaded Brake Lines, HKS Drag Intercooler,Greddy Cam Gears, Oil Cooler and 11 suspension braces through out make this car drive and handle unbelivably Previous ownership both here and in Japan was th biggest reason for purchasing, as owner in Japan completed a ground up rebuild in 2004 and this was when the N1 gear was added. Interior is immaculate and car is as tight as I have ever seen a R32 to be. No clunkiness with this car at all, doors are tight and quite, as owner in Japan worked for Nissan on changed alot of small rubber parts to make things work like new. Obviously pretty happy with the car abnd look forward to getting out and using it on some track days in the next few months!! Plans are Tint, as well as powder coating wheels black, or upgrading to 18" Black rims and maybe a carbon front splitter. Feedback Welcome-
  3. Ok Guys, now only looking for a nice, well built R32 GTR to trade the M3 for. If there is anyone that would like to own an immaculate M3 and has an immaculate R32, hit me up!
  4. I spent a few hours with this car this morning up at Mt Macedon and was extremely impressed with its look and performance. Very solid car, as far as rattles or normal noise that comes from a 20yr old car, this car had next to none. Very very solid GTR in immaculate condition. I have some thinking to do as I really enjoyed driving the M3 as well
  5. I had a R32 Veilside Widebody Evolution GTR, not sure on its rarity, but I have heard there were only 100 made worldwide??
  6. Sorry FineLine, I didnt see your response. Yeh I understand and I know resale value on any GTR is going to be tough in a few years, as you say, especially with a paint issues. If I was to buy this var, I wouldnt offer more than $25K if I had the money, I am lucky to be in a position to trade my M3 that I paid a damn good price for, although it is a great car, I wont know until I drive the GTR if I actually want to trade. You guys have certainly given me some great feedback to take into account making my decision, so thanks!!
  7. Yeh I hear what your saying Deano1. I know if I was in a position to build a GTR I would spend the $15K on building at opposed to buying an N1 engine for $15K, but thats not an option here. No blunting dude, all good!! I know I am not getting into an amazingly awesome rare GTR, I have already owned one of those, but this thing looks clean and extremely well looked after, so we will see. Obv, if there is a sweet GTR looking to trade with an M3, I am happy to look at options
  8. M.C Ren, I also dont mind the white engine bay, kinda looks super clean. Im thinking as well of Tint, 18" Black wheels and the wine red GTR will look pretty fierce The 28ltr sure does have a great spec sheet, but prob no good as I am looking to trade my M3 for the R32, but we will see on the weekend!
  9. Engine Out doesnt sound like a plan Well I think seeing that it is going to be mainly a daily and the odd track day, hopefully the lack of Oil mods wont play too big a part!! Yeh the M3 is actully a beautiful car and to be honest, this GTR will have to be AMAZING in the flesh for me to consider a trade, but we will find out Saturday morning
  10. NickR33, the thing is I am looking to possibly trade my E36 M3 with this vechile, so I will not be handing over any cash for this vechile. Hopefully you have a hankering for a neat M3 and would look into trading as well:) I will def look into Oil mods for this car if it ends up in my garage. Thanks
  11. JiMiH, Thats another reason that I brought this topic up on this forum, as I can make up my mind without really going through things, and that has been the best aspect of this thread for me. There has been some great points made by you guys and I appreciate you all keeping me honest At the end of the day, its an 1989 GTR and will always be tough to resell in the future for a price that I perceive its worth, but this one will probably be in my garage for a while
  12. Yes, I will be taking a good look and also trying to get in contact with the original owner, who is was high up in the NDOC, about the 3 diff colours. Could be an issue for sure!!
  13. Ten Four, I have owned 4 GTRs before including an rare only edition in OZ GTR, so I know it will be a struggle to sell, but I am looking at this to be a keeper. Marlin, I want to hear of people's opinion on THIS car, not comparing it to their car or their cousin's car. I wanted to know more about the perceived value of the N1 gear and suspension components, as well as how clean this vechile is. I know it is not worth $34K, to me anyway, just wanted to get an approximate value. I would also say it is worth approx $25K to me, so we will see how we go. Thanks again for everyones input, greatly appreciated
  14. Ten Four, you have proven your point of having a modded GTR at some stage and your knowledge on cars-Well Done!! I asked a simple question about the possible worth of this car with the mods it has, colour and white engine bay is no issue to me, if it was I wouldnt even look at it. This is not a Group 1 race car and will probably be used for a few minor track days, but mostly as a nice street GTR, all I am trying to do is to get some thoughts on approx what this car could be worth from an enthusiat point of view, not to compare it to the greatest GTR that was ever built-Yours!! But thanks for the input!!
  15. Thanks (OO)SKYLINE(OO), Yeh it seems like a really well built car but more importantly, it has had an owner over the past 4 years that is super fastidious about his R32, and this is very important for me. Combine the 2 and its worth more than just modifications. I actually quite like the colour, as I have a Veilside Evolution Widebody R32 GTR in the same colour, so Im a fan! I am checking it out on Saturday so will see what it is like in the flesh, a drive around Woodend will give me all the info I need:)
  16. Thanks Mandingo, obv not that mechanical but will look into this is greater detail, really appreciate the info and advice!!!!!
  17. Just Jap is selling the same engine New for $23,000. Can someone please tell me what the N1 Engine has that is so special compared to the standard RB26. Thanks
  18. Really Appreciate the feedback guys!!! Thanks
  19. Deano1, sounds like you got a great deal with the Nismo GTR. Not sure if you know the cost of an R33 N1 engine and R34 N1 Turbos, but they dont come cheap. Let alone brand new VSpec11 Brembo brakes. I know the price is high, but I think you guys are actually underestimating the parts used. Here are a few pics to have a look at.
  20. Ten Four, Im hearing ya!! The owner sent me pics of underneath the car and it is so clean. R33 N1 engine and R34 N1 Turbos with 30,000kms on it as well as complete respray that looks like it was done yesterday. Got to see it in the flesh for sure to appreciate it, but I know the market for GTRs are pretty bad, and the M3 will stay exactly the same or increase over the next few years. Dilemma!!!!!
  21. The benefits of being 36yrs young;) Shouldnt be a problem.
  22. I suppose the cars worth is in the eye of the beholder and I am seriously considering trading my M3 for it!!
  23. That is the car guys, it is amazing!! Looking to trade my M3 with this car, as the owner is looking to get into something more practical! Hopefully will be able to put alot more pics and info of this car on here soon:) I am asking a ball park figure that you think a car like this is worth? Do you think it is worth $35K in the current market?? Cheers
  24. Hi Guys, I am looking to purchase a R32 GTR with the list of mods below. The car was a ground up rebuild from a Nissan worker in japan in 2004 and is in amazing condition!!! The N1 engine has been verified and the pics I have seen, the car looks like it is in show room condition. I have been in Sydney for a 9 days and will be checking it out in person next week. But it is a has to be seen to be believed type of GTR, especially seeing the shell is a 1989 shell. :: Engine :: - Brand new R33 RB26DETT N1 Engine, only done around 28,000kms - Brand new R34 N1 Twin Turbos, same mileage as new engine - Greddy adjustable Cam Gears with clear cam gear cover (comes with original cover as well, see pic with extra parts) - Sard 800cc Injectors - HKS Drag Intercooler (600x300x100mm LxWxD, tube & fin design), 3 Inlet / Outlet - Custom 3 Intercooler Piping - Custom 3.5 mandrel Exhaust System from turbos to 4.5 rear muffler - amazingly subdued off boost but sounds great on full boost, very angry and tough. System is quiet easy on the ears as well with zero drone. - Oil cooler with air guide and remote oil filter for easy replacement - Oil Catch Can - Twin Apexi Pod Filters - Apexi Power FC ECU (tuned by Ben @ Racepace on 20psi = 320awkw ) :: Drive Train / Brakes :: - Standard two piece drive shaft, LSD and 4WD system all very tight and strong never had any problems running current power for the last 3 years of ownership. - Jim Berry Full Monty single plate carbonetic clutch, 3600lbs pressure plate matched to an R31 Fly Wheel beautiful clutch, never had it slip on me once with current power level and operates almost like a standard clutch in terms of pedal heaviness and driveability in traffic. - VSpec 2 Brembo front callipers with Lockheed rotors and pads, standard rear callipers and rotors / pads pulls up exceptionally well, feels like your eyeballs will pop out and its still got more in it before the ABS even kicks in! - Teflon braided brake lines :: Suspension / Bracing / Wheels :: - Tein Coilovers, adjustable stiffness and dampening - 11 structural bracing bars: --- 2 Front & Rear Strut Braces --- 1 Interior Cabin Brace (per image) --- 4 Front & Rear Guard Braces (1 under each guard running lengthwise) --- 1 Brace underneath near rear of engine / front of gearbox --- 1 Mid trans tunnel Brace connecting either side of the tunnel --- 2 Rear subframe Braces (1 each side) - Volk Racing CE28N 17x9 Forged Monoblock lightweight Wheels (includes VR Duraluminium wheel nuts and VR valve caps) wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza RE-01 255/40R17 Tyres. This combination of stiffness and grip makes for a very flat and stable cornering attitude with great response from the tyres under braking, cornering and acceleration. :: Exterior / Interior :: - Lightweight fibreglass bonnet - Aerocatch Bonnet Pins (lockable) - N1 Side Skirts & Vents in front bar - Momo Race Steering Wheel - GTR carbon fibre Gear Knob - Apexi EL2 Mechanical Boost Gauge - Nismo 320kmph Speedometer - Kenwood CD / MP3 head unit with what looks like standard speakers front & back (they do an alright job to provide some good music but this is not a DB comp. car - the music most of the time is the car itself ) - Fire extinguisher mounted to rear cabin brace - Original Nissan GTR floor mats front & back with the original flare case in the front passengers foot well (flare removed) - Original Nissan GTR front & rear seats in excellent, nearly as new condition - bolsters still all firm & solid, top of rear seats are not faded like nearly all other R32s are. - All dash & trim in excellent condition with all accessories, gauges & lights fully functional - heater & aircon work as good as the day it rolled off the factory floor. :: History :: The car was originally gunmetal grey before the owner of it then in Japan did a ground up rebuild of the car in 2004. It was resprayed a metallic factory colour wine red but with lots of pearl and the engine bay was sprayed a stark white, maybe to show off the engine or to show up leaks and issues a lot easier, either way you always get asked the question when popping the bonnet did it use to be white. The only place you can still see the original colour is the rear strut towers. This chap worked at Nissan in Japan and so had access to many new parts for the GTR and is why youll find a lot of the seals and small plastic parts are like new as well as a lot of engine bay components. Basically from there he dropped in the new motor and turbos with most of the listed supporting mods, the only mods added in Australia were the injectors, adjustable cam gears and the boost gauge. A bloke well known in the NDSOC (Nissan Datsun Sports Owner Club) association imported it for himself in 2005 and owned it for a little over a year, taking it to a few show n shines and concourse events. While in his possession he added the injectors and cam gears and had it tuned to about 270awkw @ 20psi. The owner purchased it off of him in 2006 and had owned it for a little while before taking it down to Race Pace as it was getting some injector fuel blow byturned out the wrong O-rings had been used on installation by the previous owner and the injectors needed to be spaced out from the fuel rail a bit. Some new O-rings and some brass washers with rubber inner linings were used to space the injectors by about 2mm and make them seat properly in the head and the issue was resolved. While he was there he had Ben put it on the dyno for a new tune where it was found the CAS was faulty so a new one was installed and after a couple of hours on the dyno, he drove out with 322awkw (still on 20psi) and that was a safe tune. We worked out its about 520HP at the flywheel which Im happy with as its a bit under what an N1 engine is estimated to be cable of handling before needing internal upgrades and so have never pushed it any further. It seems a very streetable power level with the 4WD system and 255 rubber giving great grip and the R34 N1 turbos are very responsive, a combination that nails you to the seat. Sorry about the lengthy report, this is what the owner sent me in an email. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Cheers
