  1. + 1 iseekool's comment. Didn't know you already had a car. When I was on P's I could barely afford my only car lol @Jack, my mate's NA R32 w/RB25DE S2 was basically neck and neck with my MR2 w/original engine (when I had Gen 2 3SGE). He was about neck and neck with other mate's VZ SV6 190kw Alloytec. I've yet to lose to any V6 commo. However I do have a Beams 3SGE which pulls a fair bit harder than my original motor. Never encountered any manual V6 commo's tho but never stopped to check. Anyways jap cars aren't all about straight lines . But yeh I do agree about the VTECs, even I get humbled
  2. Thanks for the reply fellas I guess it was wishful thinking...I know I'm being stubborn here but I reckons I could make it work lol. Shame about the seats not being able to fold down. The Stagea is outta my price range and it's the perfect fusion between performance practicality but I think I'd rather separate that into sports car and van, whereas I'm looking more sports car with some practicality. I'm not always gonna be lugging around this stuff but when I occasionally do I'll just take out the rear seats - how often do you even get pull over for that? Drove around with the MR2 without passenger seat plenty of times haha Anyways if I decide to go ahead an get an R32 4 door I'll let you guys know how much I was actually able to squeeze and take a couple pics RE Attached pic: 2 speakers on the front seat, rear boot actually perfectly accomodates my rectangular guitar case (lucky!) OR a compact e-drum set. It's a stretch but I think the 4Dr R32 can do it!!
  3. Thanks for that. Yeh I've noticed selling cars not quick as it used to be a few years back. Somewhat related so could you please check out my post here? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/433799-can-4-door-r32-skyline-fit-some-music-equipment/ Cheers
  4. Thanks for the reply. "Strongly suspect" isn't the most concrete description but you obviously know helluva lot more than me so I'll your word for it cheers!
  5. Hey mate I'd be interested in this very early next year but I don't think you can wait that long!
  6. As title says, could a 4 door sedan version of the R32 have enough space for some music equipment? Would I be able to fit all at once: 2x 15 inch PAs 2x heavy duty speaker stands 1x 50W Valve combo amp. Maybe another amp of comparable size 2 guitars in retangular cases An acoustic guitar 2 mic stands Guitar rack (fits 6 guitars) Few other small percussions like tambourines etc I don't have much Medium-large storage box (containing leads and power plugs etc) Possibly a keyboard (optional) I probably won't be bringing everything listed here but incase I need to it's always good to know if it's capable. Maybe I should take a pic of all the stuff? Reason for choosing the R32: I considered R31s but I just know that eventually I will be disappointed in the handling coming from an SW20 MR2. I don't want to buy a Van yet without having a fun car to drive around but I can't afford 2 cars at the moment. With the MR2 I could fit 2 PAs speakers and a few more things by removing the passenger seat but still need much more space. Also, I think I've been bitten by the RB engine eargasm bug and I've always wanted to experience a turbo car. At least the R32 is more track ready than either a R31 or a dare say the van lol. Mate just bought an R33 so I want something different and from quick reading the R32s are lighter and more chuckable out of the box. If there are any meets in Victoria coming up soon I'd be keen to check out a few to take some interior measurements Cheers
  7. Sorry to bring old thread up (didn't wanna make another one). Just to confirm, an R33/RB25DET manual gearbox into an R32 auto chassis is a direct swap, no mods?
  8. Everyone's given good advice here, but I'll just add my 0.02222 cents... Unless the rules have changed since 2011, the swap should be fine. My good mate did it back then with no paper work issues at all, just act sensible at Vicroads when you hand in the papers for engine swap. No eng cert required, I actually emailed a local VACC registered engineer about something similar (SR20DE into S14) and he said the fact that I'm putting a less powered engine into the car, it is the least of their worries. More importantly is the chassis integrity but it's a straight swap so problems there mate! Wiring: My mate sent his engine wiring loom to some guy in QLD to make it a plug and play with the R32 chassis. If I remember it cost less than $400 inc postage. Most economical way imo. His forum name is viiictor if u wanna PM but I don't think he's active here anymore I can understand why he'd want to do something like this: NA R32 are much less common than tubbys. Also RB20 will be a slug compared to RB25 Found a clean shell/example RWD>FWD (subjective!). Given a same driver behind the wheel, the only cars that has potential could beat you are those pesky VTECs or an NA MR2. Prob a few more examples I can't think of atm. Also, drifto baby!!! Better to have experience in RWD once you transistion into more power in later years. Maybe he likes R32s over R33s That being said, a difficult popo MAY dick you for it but when my mate had the car, two encounters with the popo there was no problem (2nd time was because of something else related). Mate was just sensible about it. And yes, as everyone says, it will not be cheap so prepare for that. It's better to do something like this with extra money for headroom; you can trust me and everyone else on this with experience. And just another thing before I fack off, ex-P plater to P plater, respect the handling of a RWD, driving limits, peer pressure and speed in general or you may find yourself in a situation you wished never happened. Not trying to make any claims or suggestions for all I know you could be the best driver out there or the worst, but I feel it's almost my responsibily to say these things just incase...so I will leave you with this if you like to read http://treetran.org/2012/10/25/i-should-have-bought-a-beater-p-platers-and-young-drivers-read-this/ Personally, and in summary of that article, I'd just get an R31 Anyways...gl on your future endeavours!
  9. Hi I'm missing 2 centre caps from my rims so if anyone has Grey/Black caps that would be great. GTR or GTSt for an R32 but ideally Grey/Black ones from the GTR R32 like the pic attached PM or SMS/call on 0431673529 I'm located in Melbourne, south east suburbs but willing to play postage. Cheers
