  1. Can't say I have but there is one that patrols the Chugoku Highway over here...between Osaka and Hiroshima. Now that is one hell of a stretch to patrol, a good 3-4 hours each way .
  2. As the car was bought privately there is no rating...but given the age, kilometres, condition etc...I also rate it as a 3.5. It has a bit of rust and bit rough around the edges but given the age and Ks the car looks good and it runs beautifully. As for the pricing Justin has already indicated approximate, and you can't beat mates rates. Before Justin there was another buyer (a mate) and myself who were interested in picking up this car as a drifter, then Justin mentioned he was in the market for an R32 and rest you all know about.
  3. there isn't much to laugh at my car...and the post was advice to the thread starter...or have you decided to have one too.
  4. Yes this is true, and we will all laugh at you...nobody does it here bar the small % of try hards. For the plain and simple fact it's only for race cars involved in D1...do you see anyone going around with F1 logos/decals or touring car decals!
  5. children!!!...been watching too many Japanese motoring videos have we... funky you forgot Option Wagon
  6. yeah mate, special parking function on the Evos Justin said it would be good to get the front of both cars. Looking forward to getting all 3 cars in the photo
  7. didn't turn out too shabby heh?
  8. My point is HICAS is really an old system just like the whole Attesa 4WD system, you could say at least it still does the job but obviously Nissan felt no need to have 4Ws on a normal family wagon. That's just it, a wagon with an RB engine not a sports car...bar the 260RS, Autech out to prove you can make a brick move or rather the whole whackiness of the Japanese scene. You can try and drift a Stagea, I have and a manual one, dam thing didn't like corners too much. The whole 4WS was another 90's fad, but people still buy it right. But don't you have a 260RS? Jake, your one of the lucky ones then.
  9. and finally...how stupid do you think DOTARS are if you fudge a 40,000km BNR34 VSpec for 2Mil or less. Believe me they also have their contacts here in Japan.

  11. As I said I would check...I was half right, same as Mad Wagon. As we all know the 260RS has Super Hicas, the only other C34 Stagea which has Super Hicas is the 11% of 5MT RS Four S from late 98 onwards. I mentioned the M35 has Super Hicas and the 2 models are AR-X and 250t RS Four V HICAS. Again I ask...Who needs HICAS?
  12. Guys I think none of the C34 had them except perhaps the 260RS...can check tonight. The M35 does...but who needs HICAS??? Did I mention they are so much a nicer car , I know Rezz is sick of hearing me say that...also M35 series 2 is now out!
  13. Justin may not say, sold at mate's rates through a mate of mine...at a very good price including shaken.
  14. Perhaps you could accomodate a smaller pod, but I was suggesting returning it back to a panel filter with a CAI. I would if I could but I went with a WRC straight induction box. Pods IMO don't make that much of a difference. Alot of the Super Taikyu Evos are running with the factory airbox and making 410ps/50kgm from the factory setup (std internals, turbo, cams, manifold, surge tank, I/C, etc) with only an aftermarket computer, larger fuelpump, front pipe and exhaust. Course they are super light...completely stripped interior.
  15. Dave, just did some quick sums and I think we should make Justin drive with a navigator . Taking the powerup mods on both cars moderately, the GT-V is 6.23kg/ps and the GTSt is 5.72kg/ps. OK I'll let you drive the Evo, I'm sure Justin won't mind
  16. come on Dave, you've secretly got a turbo hiding under there right? plus don't you have a set of TE37, reduced unsprung weight!...if you take out the spare wheel, jack, rear cardboard, carpets, babyseat etc you should be able to run against Justin...would certainly be an interesting test too
  17. Justin, if I still had the factory airbox like you do, I would have converted it to enclose the pod. The one I have now is a WRC airbox, but look through the books I passed to you...I'm sure you should be able to find some airboxes in there. Are we competing...I maybe leading but your car is still lighter, more so when your carbon bonnet goes on...yikes!
  18. Dave I got a garage to do my shaken, couldn't be stuffed doing the running around unless you have time...a few mates have done it and their advise was how much time do you have. Also you have to get there early with your car and que up...if you miss out you just have to go back the next day and que again. My car had to make 2 trips on the flatbed to Kobe Transport inspection center, (I have Kobe plates, people here tend to perfer Kobe plates instead of Osaka if your a real status person but I actually live closer to Osaka) as I got picked up for a worn timing belt. As I said the waiting...long process...don't know if Garages get an express lane kinda inspection or not but if you do it yourself expect to wait 2, 3 or 4 hours depending on the que...Yamanashi may have less people. Then if you have to replace something you have to return again, which will most likely be the day after as there will be no way you will have time to fix/repair the defect and expect to que up in time for them to re-inspect before the end of the day. I can't quite remember exactly how much I got quoted for but all up including the timing belt was 90,000yen and I remember seeing their fee was nothing compared to the shaken cost and it save me 2 days of hassle if I had to do it all myself. Note: I mention the car was transported down on a flatbed (I wanted it this way), most garages drive your car to the inspection center which is perfectly normal here. But I wonder how the insurance is covered. Anyway a mate got his car back after shaken with an extra 150km on the clock ...yet the garage was only 15km away from the inspection center unless they had to make 5 trips due to multiple defects...beware the dodgy ones or get it done at a garage nearby the inspection center. Brian, I was suppose to send my car back after a year but ended up doing the shaken because you can get some money back even if it ain't much for unused periods.
  19. Justin, arghhh... traffic depending, it took me 4 hours to get to Suzuka during last year's F1 final but that wasn't taking the highway and there were heaps of traffic. But nice traffic...I pulled into a convenient store just a few kilometers from the circuit and there were a few F40s, 360, Lambos, Porkas also going to the race but stopping for a break. I managed to get some attention when a few French Rally fans came over and asked if I was a rally driver :D (taking the back roads the car was very dirty and it rained heavily on the way over, not to mention my mate and I were in our F1 Malboro Racing shirts) Now in comparison if I took the highway heading to other places...it took me 3 hours to get to Hiroshima with light traffic, or 4 hours to get to Takatsu Snowfield North of Gifu or North to Japan sea - Amanohashi 2.5 hours. By right you should be able to get to Tokyo in 6 hours but not with Japan's traffic...10 hours more like it, but where Dave lives I think it is still quite rural...I still say 4 hours including short breaks or 3 hours nonstop. Dave, are you talking about that interchange North of Nagoya/South of Gifu? If you take the wrong lane/turn you end up doing a big loop.
  20. but do you see them in the flesh day in day out... different angles and different colours Neighbour next door use to have a silver one for his wife course it didn't really stand out parked next to his white VIP 167 V300. As I said used to not like it and now I don't mind it even the lights...things can't always be the same so it was refreshing to see a different kind of tail light but it too me a very very very very long time get use to the lights. Ass IMO ain't fat at all but maybe I like J.Lo's ass I mean car's with fat ass . Jake32, not aimed at you...but I find alot of guys place judgement on cars they've never seen in the flesh or driven...but somehow they can give such a great indepth opinion.
  21. The sedan isn't a bad looking car...I used to not like the look but after awhile you get use to it. Understandably you guys don't see these cars day in day out. The revised Sedan will have the same lights as the Coupe.
  22. Justin, time to head up to Rokko for a drive and see how she handles the twisties or up through Takarzuka ...there is also a nice dam just past Sanda. You working Saturday? I'll be heading down to AB 43 to buy a new turbo heat sheild I saw there last time, the one I have now is starting to rust away badly. LOL...400ps is a nice figure for the street. I thought the old girl kept up pretty well on the Wangan last weekend. Or was it the fright I may have gave Kayo on the way home, I didn't think you were just in front when you said you were JUST in front (I was caught up at the last 2 set of lights by slow traffic). The mango shake was too tasty...and before I noticed the stove tops holding in the left lane I had already overshot...ekkk! The lane in front of me was clear from way back though. Dave, Justin's Skyline is going into the workshop for some panel work and rust repair, so I think mid September would be the earliest.
  23. Looking good mate, pity I didn't have the camera with me yesterday along the Wangan. We had a good run yesterday, I see you have a few Nascar moves there .
  24. As Dave said, shaken is why people get rid of their car after before the end of the 3rd year (1st owner), or every 2 years subsequently, reason why cars are expensive to run, but you have to understand we shouldn't ask why but rather if you want a car here this is what you have to abide to have it on the road, there are other stuff as well like registration. Shaken on my car cost me just under 100K Yen, and the car was completely legal still i.e. having no illegal mods...I run out of Shaken again soon . Yukio, easy mate, Rezz just asked a question which you quoted "yankee plates"...I also have never heard of a Yankee plate and why would it be cheaper unless it is registered as a US Govt military car? A GT-R for a US Govt military car...interesting, would the car need to be modify to comply to any security regulations?
  25. Do we need any for this Sunday? I think the radar will do
