  1. If I was to do it for the women...your sig says it all FD all the way .
  2. fatz, I know where you coming from...to be honest I too wouldn't choose a RZ for track work as there are better cars to choose from. But that is not to say they can't work the track. I mention JGTC as an example, and don't say you guys weren't comparing the extreme as you have just above...if money was not a question. When your talking about circuit racing, when has more power always resulted in a faster car, that's just a plain silly comment as well as how the suspension are setup as they are driver dependant. There is only so much power one should run in a circuit car between different circuits. I can give you plenty of examples where a 400ps car has clocked a good 3-4 sec faster than a 750ps car of the same make and model...could be driver skill, could be tune and setup etc. I too love the Supra, like any street car...good 400ps setup is enough and plenty fun. Plus the car looks sexy and as already mentioned the chicks love them .
  3. I like how all the expert opinion between the a Supra and a GT-R is coming from people who have never driven or owned either car. You can argue if you wish but both are different cars and don't even start on the GT-R being the ducks nuts as the quicker cars around a track...the Supra wasn't built to be a track car but plenty of them running around JGTC. Also the stock internals on the 1JZ...before we even talk about the 2JZ will hold 500hp+
  4. echo...big deal...grow up boys or you still all little 13 yo FFS.
  5. their f**king common as...:D Why do you care what they say? ...and even if you did find out how many, it's still not a fair comparision as you know. It could be the fact they are easily spotted now because they are different to what is available locally. God I gave up looking at Skylines after one year here, except for BNR34...BCNR33 and BNR32 aren't a big deal to me no more. I don't see that many skylines on the roads among all the other JDM cars. Human nature you don't need to see 5 a day...just seeing 1 different Skyline...week in, week out it's enough to say they are common. Why go to all the trouble just to prove a few knuckle heads...is there a prize to be won?
  6. Just made the announcement Dave you gotta bring the R34 mate. http://board.performanceforums.com/forums/...readid=67178830
  7. straight or around corners?
  8. IIRC from the latest news, Phoenix Corp now owns and runs MMC not DC anymore...they recently have pumped even more money into restructuring plan....correct me if I haven't been updated. MHI and Mitsubishi Corp both have always been a major share holder, but your right prior to this Mitsubishi Chemical and Mitsubishi Electric (us) were both approached to help inject funds into the rebuild...there was never any insecurity they were going to be sold off as a loss. But they were considering delisting from the Stock exchange which is a definite - No No, if they wanted to keep any credability to secure more funds. Mitsubishi Corp, Mitsubishi Rayon, Asahi Glass, Kirin Brewery/Beverages and Mitsubishi Chemical all posted hugh profits last financial year...there is alot of sister companies to seek finance from.
  9. How much boost you want to run? Do you have a AF controller?
  10. If you racing comp yes you need a license, if you just doing track days you just rock up. It's reasonable in the cost 15,000 for two 30 minute sessions. Given the temp now, I don't think the factory oil cooler is going to hold up. Justin will have to take it easy with the Skyline I think unless he wants to temporarily fit my factory oil cooler . Will be my first time on Ti, previous to this only a couple visitors lap around Central circuit, been on Montegi and Suzuka but not in the Evo.
  11. Yeah it's pretty bad here too, but I think they will bounce back in no time. Many are speculating what will become of MMC, most articles and motoring journo are saying it will blow over after a while. Once they fix all the recalls they will get back into the game like every other Japanese maker who has suffered a hickup. They have acquired a shitload of finance and support, they also getting Govt support and benefits to get back on it's feet like the others did.
  12. ahhh that is what you know, but trendsetters dominate the market...which is why Toyota have been so smart all these years into building cars for different driver needs to weather trendsetters...also they have the capacity and funds to do so. Every euro maker is building a car with 4WD capability regardless if it ever sees the dirt track, it's what the buyer wants. As I said if they were smart they would have done so ages ago, Holden and Ford have the Adventra and Territory respectively...they have been tested to be no major contenders offroad but hey who cares the people still buying them.
  13. Autowatch is good too. Else go the Viper...if you later choose to go for a Cliiford you can still use most of your sensors, they all belong to DEI. I did just that, changing the brain only and was able to use all my original sensors plus a few new ones. Note: but check some models don't allow due to the number of inputs/features which need to be programmed by a bitwriter.
  14. Dave, yeah no worries...the cooler the better the summer is playing crazy. I'm getting a larger oil cooler fitted for the track, possibly going twin setup if the temp stay too high.
  15. Turbocharge it or drop in a 6A13 TT...like what other have always and been doing here with 4WD Diamantes...back well in 1995!!! Don't know why they never brought it out earlier, personally I think it is a simple case of too little too late. The US Galant is proposed to replace the outgoing Diamante design which as you can see is almost 10 years old FFS! MMC have primarily been a passenger car manufacturer with the exception of their participation in Rally Motorsports...(which is why they never needed to build any fancy flash interior, gizmo pumped Evo when it's going to get stripped...but everybody thought they needed to compete with all the other 4WD sports cars. It's a bloody race car but you all can't understand that). Passenger cars includes them as one of the few who build OEM Kei cars. Mazda, Nissan and Toyota under OEM license rebadge other makers Kei cars for their line up. Thus targetting the greater global market MMC cars have always been either FWD or 4WD, also why they suck in building a GT...they are small capacity engine makers (with the exception of the Pajero which is a truck engine anyway). Typically Japanese and at that technological era they failed to understand by fitting every gadget possible to the GTO, the Evo is packed with more punch the GTO will ever have minus all that techno crap. But why on earth would they be as stupid as the yanks in giving Aust a FWD Diamante for all these years...they are the leading Japanese makers in 4WD system design, why didn't they build on that! I'm also glad I don't have to see that ugly dam happy face Magna here.

    Tas 2005

were we late last time...everyone else was early, don't forget we had to come over from Kansai...catching the 7am skinkansen .
  17. Dave, I have it on video and will bring it over when I'm over. I hope to drop by soon...what are you plans for 14th-15th weekend?
  18. it's interesting to see how they are comparing cars in their ads in Aust...here it's just the car itself...with a very catchy music and scenery is there any online streaming video I could download like they have on the makers website here?
  19. I was going to say has anyone noticed why none of us J-guys have bought a GT-R, apart from them being expensive, insurance etc etc...or is it because they aren't what it's hyped up to be and any turbo car could whip it's sorry ass...first year memories of astonishment to see a Diahatsu Opti Kei-car with 3 pasengers onboard whip an E3 and 180SX along the wangan...how is that possible?!?! Now your right about don't bother about the GT-R, unless your a diehard fan...but why an Aristo? I like them too but with the 147 being so close to 15yo...I'll wait for that. Forget the Z33, you can get them in Aust. In the current Nissan stable the only new car I'd go for is M35 Stagea, they aren't expensive and look super!!! and the VQ25DET makes so much more torque then the Neo RB25DET . Or the V35 Coupe...but they are rather expensive for low km and good condition ones. The wisest thing to do is to buy if possible your favourite car for a reasonable condition and price...and mod the crap out of it, they can't touch you for mods on a personal import when you bring it back. Most of you I believe will not want to be throwing away thousands of dollars on 1st year insurnace (keep in mind you have no driver history in Japan) or fixing up a rough example.
  20. then you need to live out West...Osaka way , Mie-ken or Wakayama-ken has good diving spots or out Kyushu way. Okinawa is also very good, else SE Asia - Thailand ain't too expensive to fly over
  21. and if you do chose to buy one...no matter what, buy one with ABS or brake upgrade. For something which can be made so powerful from the back wheels you need upgraded brakes. Well unless your a very good driver and very aware of your surroundings including the car in front of you has stopped!!! I hope my mate doesn't read this but he locked up his MR2 just centimetres from my rear bar at the lights 2 weeks ago, and mate did his brakes smoke up!!! Going for a bit of a squirk afterwards, a slow Celica pulled out in front of me and while I have the luxury of Brembos...I was a little worried my mate wouldn't be able to pull up. Me indicators on early crossed over to the next lane early giving him plenty of space just in case.
  22. not ARC...probably custom. but looks like the one JUN used...else check out the Stream, Esprit or Advance GT-Rs they all have have airboxes IIRC.
  23. not ARC...probably custom. Esle could be Stream, Esprit or Advance...but looks like the one JUN used...check them out.
  24. I guess Stevie is NOB then...cause I sure don't look like him .
  25. The Chaser has less aftermarket parts then a skyline...which planet are you from? Chaser for sure, I will hoping to jump into a Chaser next...after the Evo. Wow, I never noticed...I see just as much plastic in every other car Now your making sense...the Evo is very hardcore, I too wouldn't recommend it as a family car.
