  1. i recently bought my old car back which is an aust delivered r32gtr, number 60 of 100. my brother has an r32gtr which i can almost guarantee nobody on sau can find information on...its an 89 'scuderia' which has the scuderia dash, scuderia rear boot lid badge, scuderia compliance plate & a few other things which aligns to an aussie gtr. it is an australian delivered version as it was sold here & 1st registered in 94, it is extremely rare with only 1 of 6 (his is number 001). he bought it off a gentleman by the name of chris smith, then went to paul whitmarsh who runs the wharf business in pyrmont & raced in the porsche cup - then my brother bought it back in 2000. under 100,000km & last registered in 2004. apparently skaife bought 002 & 003 went to another high profile...the remaining 3 of the 6 were used for racing! if anyone can find any other info on this 'scuderia' gtr, please share it with me
  2. for the 26th of april if its a syd cruise, it will only be myself & bob right?
  3. how many aust gtr owners are there thus far? i also wonder how many are actually left on the road v's those that are written off/stolen etc 1. Ken 2. Marko 3. Bob 4. ?
  4. bob & ken - im up for an 'aussie' meet. where do u guys live though as im based in syd? here are some pics - the plates will replaced soon with my custom plates 'GO21LA'. my plates are currently red with silver lettering which would be an eyesore, should i get silver plates with black lettering OR black plates with silver lettering?
  5. Hi All, Quick update: I recently sold my rb2630 engine to a mate of mine who is setting up an R32GTR circuit car (that engine belongs on the track TBH, too angry for the street). As soon as he sets it up, I’ll report back here with results. This guy is a demon behind the wheel...used to pull 1:08s around wakefield with a stock gtr running higher boost. I now have a replacement Bathurst Winner which is piece of history & icon – I bought back my old Australian Delivered R32 GTR
  6. Over the weekend, I finally purchased an Australian Delivered GTR (which I previously owned) as it was always my intention to buy it back (hence why I stayed in touch with the owner for 5.5years). Originally my mate owned it for 7 years (1996 – 2002) then I owned it for 3 years (2003 – 2006) & I bought back after it was meticulously cared for 5.5 years . It has only traveled 5000km over the past 5.5years. Colour: Jet Silver Metallic KJ1G Delivered: Aug 1991 Sold: Aug 1994 Number: 60 of 100 (16942) KMS: 102000 (with full service history, log books & original spare keys) Dealership: Nissan Hobart TAS Owners: 3 Purchased: Apr 11 Locale: Sydney NSW Currently the car has a few bolt on mods, however, the stock bits which have been swapped out are retained.
  7. i totally agree with you on this point
  8. i also remember the vl group ss & looking at a new 1 in a holden yard back in 87 with my dad (he had a torana ss 5ltr hatchback) what was the split between the red, black & silver when released in terms of numbers?
  9. hi bob, in response to your pm from a few weeks ago (as i want to share this with other aust gtr owners) - i finally found a reference in regards to only 67 of 100 aust gtr's were sold in aust refer to paragraph 6 which states the following: "In 1991 and to capitalise on the car's competition success, Nissan Oz imported a batch of road-going GT-Rs. Just 100 of the 2.6-litre, twin-turboed 'six' with 4WD and four-wheel steer were in the first boatload and priced at $107,000 each. At a time when the cheapest Porsche 911 in the book was worth a neat $60,000 more than the Nissan, hopes were high that those 100 'Zillas would be sold within minutes of word spreading. It didn't happen. At the end of 1992 and coinciding with the car's banishment from Touring Car competition the sales tally stood at 67 cars and Nissan announced that no more would be imported. Officially, anyway." here is the article: http://www.uniquecars.carpoint.com.au/portal/alias__uniquecarsau/tabID__203009/ArticleID__5004/DesktopDefault.aspx
  10. In my previous gtr, i built the engine back in 2005 & used an n1 pump as back then they weren’t breaking & there was no stigma attached...to date, that engine & oil pump is still going strong & makes 400awkw. My mate also runs an n1 oil pump in his r33 which makes close to 350awkw & he has covered about 50,000km over the past 4 years, no problem whatsoever! On the other hand though, when i built my most recent engine in 2009 I also used an n1 oil pump (making 405awkw) & the thing broke after a few thousand kms – yes i was revving hard when it let go & hit the limiter, had a ross balancer. From what ive heard & also seen with my own eyes, the old n1 pumps are solid whereas the most recent n1 pumps are crap – there was speculation that the manufacturing plant had possibly moved to china? Not really sure myself...
  11. high revs & hitting the limiter will kill pretty much most pumps out there & thats how i killed mine what do u take your revs up to & do u hit the limiter?
  12. funny u say that duncan - my brother in law gets to see packers aussie gtr's in the garage on a daily basis in bellevue hill, he is a packer employee the lucky bugger
  13. is that a factory sunroof or aftermarket? it doesn't look factory for some reason...
  14. those are tuff wheels - i always liked them! what are they worth for a set?
  15. i didnt find a workshop so did my own inspection in supercheap auto carpark @ coffs hbr
  16. i remember that day on old south head road when i saw your green r32gtr on its roof in the midday of the day, over a brick wall & in the front yard of what seemed to be a house...what carnage!
  17. the is 1 FAT idle - the lumpier it is, the better! i like the commentary as well haha "say cheeeeeeeeeeeese motha f*cker" & "thats what those red neck c*nts in america do" MWAAAAHAHA! i really miss the higher pitch & crisp sound of the rb26 - sooo much nicer than my rb26/30
  18. billet block - that is nice! what do they charge for the block?
  19. those numbers are awesome - i wonder what the official numbers were when released from nissan?
  20. i already have the black gloss finish - if u have the wrinkle finish grey ashtray, i am looking for 1
  21. if u have the original specs list i'd like to see it
  22. pm sent u have some good parts for sale!
  23. 1 of my mates who used to work for an aftermarket bmw specialist had a customer who had exactly that red group a gtr...his explanation of the car was that it was a promo car when the winfield gtr hit the scenes & it was the same colour with single wheel lock nuts etc - about 6yrs ago he wanted 60k for it the funny thing is that he used to park it under a carport as well in his front yard (lived in bowral on acreage), he was more of a bmw enthusiast...well, once he took this gtr to a drive day @ wakefield with his mates who all drive bmw's & they all sledged him "rear wheel is a real race car" blah blah - anyway, this is how my mate met this guy as he built a race spec bmw m3 from the ground up!
  24. thanks - much appreciated
