hi guys, currently making 390awkw @ 20psi with my gtr, rb26 with hks gtrs setup, pump fuel. im planning to nudge 400awkw on pump...will i need to upgrade my injectors as im thinking about the injector dynamics id1000's which have been highly recommended. i'd rather not change them unless i need to. if i decide to go to e85 1 day i know i'll need 1000cc, but i dont think i'll ever do this & will stick with pump fuel. thanks

What Intank Pump Will Deliver The Most Flow? Nismo?
Marko R1 replied to Marko R1's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
another update - spoke to efi performance once again & he personally runs fuelab in his drag car & also quotes "they are the ducks guts in pumps!" however, pumps run different applications & the fuelab is a 'push' (i.e. blow) pump hence it needs a surge tank so it wont suit me. the pierburg is a 'draw & push' (i.e. suck & blow) pump which means it operates very well without a surge tank & can even run externally with just a pick up line with filter! the fuelab also can run variable voltage but it needs to be controlled by the ecu, i have a vipec so i'm pretty it can support varying voltage (i.e. ruin 9volts @ idle). if its runs full voltage, the pump is incredibly noisy which is crap for the street. fuelab also needs speedflow fittings ($$$) whereas the pierburg runs barb fittings where u can fit the fuel hose with hose clamps. how can i resist a 'suck & blow' pump HA! -

no probs -
hey adam - i spoke to rick @ efi performance in qld. he said i could remove my surge tank & replace my lift pump with the pierburg pump on its own (either run it in-tank for a factory appearance OR under the car with a simple bracket) & this will support 500awkw no problem. also is alcohol & ethanol friendly he explained that the 044 is rated for 200lph @ 5bar & the pireburg is rated for 360lph @ 3bar, most pumps loss efficiency with higher pressure however the pierburg remains flat & says easily maintains over 300lph @ bar. they use these in mercedes sports cars & the bugatti veyron actually runs 4 of these pumps (1 for each bank) in the tank as they are submersible.

i spoke to these guys this morning & they dont make surge tanks for the gtr

What Intank Pump Will Deliver The Most Flow? Nismo?
Marko R1 replied to Marko R1's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i want to retain my factory fuel lines & factory fuel rail so the A1000 may not be suitable (ive been there & done that with my other gtr). also the idea of single speed from the A1000 may not be ideal for the street & it probably is a noisy pump as well 1 would assume... i spoke to rick @ efi performance in qld as he is a pierburg retailer and he swears by them. he said i could remove my surge tank & replace my lift pump with the pierburg pump on its own (either run it in-tank for a factory appearance OR under the car with a simple bracket) & this will support 500awkw no problem. also is alcohol & ethanol friendly he explained that the 044 is rated for 200lph @ 5bar & the pireburg is rated for 360lph @ 3bar, most pumps loss efficiency with higher pressure however the pierburg remains flat & says easily maintains over 300lph @ bar. they use these in mercedes sports cars & the bugatti veyron actually runs 4 of these pumps (1 for each bank) in the tank as they are submersible. i think this is perfect for my application! -

^ looks like a beautiful car bobby -
I sold the light switch a while ago. Its 1 of those high demand parts though, speaking of high demand - I think I received dozens of pm's on front end parts, in particular front bar and front reo. I can see an opening for a business venture, source aftermarket front end bits for an r32gtr and u will be a rich man!

haha go michael -
i am looking into this setup myself & will confirm tomorrow if this pump can run on its own - surely this is the way they run it in their high spec mercedes cars?

My calculations are based on 5bar moving forward & here are my options... 1. Bosch 044: 200lph @ 5bar (more info: http://www.bosch.com.au/content/language1/downloads/fuelpumps.pdf) 2. Pierburg E3L series (700228510): 330lph @ 5bar (more info http://www.compsystems.com.au/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=106:pierburgefp&catid=2:ecu&Itemid=14) 3. Aeromotive A1000: 700lph @ 5bar (more info: http://aeromotiveinc.com/products-page/fuel-pumps/11101-a1000-fuel-pump/) 4. Aeromotive Stealth: 250lph @ 5bar (more info: http://aeromotiveinc.com/products-page/fuel-pumps/11140-340-stealth-fuel-pump-center-inlet/) My concern with the aeromotive A1000 is if i can make it fit in the oem fuel pump cradle as it looks massivein comparison to the other pumps, there no dimensions available... Pierburg flows 66% more than my 044 which is awesome...will the pierburg support 450awkw? what are peoples thoughts? thanks in advance -

ok. so my calculations should be based on something closer to 5bar fuel pressure as im running 21psi
