  1. dvs jez has stated he had the same issue with a similar manifold and he replaced the 38mm waste gate pipe with 44mm and ran a 44mm gate so maybe this is my fix
  2. So I need to change to 44mm I'd pipe and 44mm gate and will be all good, and this was with a hybrid performance manifold?
  3. So the waste gate pipe with 38mm? And then you put a 44 mm gate on it and all good?
  4. Yes I think everyone is a bit jealous of Roys 32, i stole his cooler to intake pipe design for mine and whipped one up,

The only issue I have with manifold is I having trouble controlling boost, might not be related to the manifold I'm just after some help, I can take some pics tomorrow and update my phone so I can upload pics to SAU, exhaust setup is 3inch pipe welded to 3 inch dump v band on 45 degree decline down to the bottom of the firewall then flagged joined there to 3 inch pipe with 2 mandrell bends into cannon no muffler no cat, I cut the 2 bolt wastegate flange off the manifold and welded the tial v band on then fitted the 38mm gate to that then from the outlet of the gate a 90 degree butweld and a pipe 150mm long screamer, and the line to waste gate comes out of the inltet manifold down the back of the head to the wastegate 6mm internal diameter line
  6. It works fine on my mates fj after the throttle body but I will give anything a try

I was happy enough with the manifold it took me all of 10 minutes to re weld a couple of pin holes in the collector welds big woop, and a few other reports of warped flanges and it was pointed out to you that a plastic ruler wasnt a good way to check your flanges and they're test fitted, all I'm saying is the exact truth and I'm trying just to get it to work? When I ordered The manifold I told you the turbo setup and everything and still have the email and you recommended your 38mm set up and quote was proven to work so Im wondering why mine won't work.. And as you said it's not the same quality or price as a top dollar manifold so a warped flange didn't bother me the only problem is boost control so I'm just after some advice on how to fix it,
  8. I took another tial 38mm wastegate that works perfect on my mates fj20 on a home made manfold with a 4mm internal reference line from the inlet manifold after the trottle body and fitted to my car and I still had boost control issues thus ruling out a faulty/fake wastegate
  9. Yes it does have a length of pipe and "reverse" angle flow from the manifold but no1 else said they were bad for boost control I will sort a pic

All would be fine if it controlled boost, everyone knew the flanges would be warped I read that in this thread and expected it, although mr hybrid performance says he gone through and changed the way they are made and fixed all his issues, didn't care how it looked rough looking collectors all that stuff as long as it didn't crack an controlled boost, surely other peoples set ups must work?
  11. The waste gate piping is 38 mm, I was led to believe The 38 mm gate was good if you wanted to run high boost levels, I want to run around 17-20 psi but want it to stay at that ha, would a 45mm gate be any good if it's 38mm piping? pics of the gate pipe out the manifold?
  12. There's two ports in the inlet manifold on the cabin side of the throttle body, and the guage port is on the cabin side of the inlet manifold, I know it's not controlling bOost because the gate is on a screamer pipe Which Opens and then still gains up to 15 psi
  13. It was brand new! I fixed it because they were small holes in the collector welds and I welded them up myself. I also exPected the flanges to be warped.. Yea well other people think they work. Yep have to pay for a real manifold now I guess and build and a new exhaust. Easy to say over the moon...

So i got my car back together about two weeks ago, A r32 gtst rb20, got one these hybrid performance manifolds and a kinugawa td-06 20g 8cm with a genuine tial 38mm wastegate, had to weld up about 5 holes in the collector and get both flanges machined due to serious warpage which cost me around $150 trade pricing, heat wrapped it all and fitted up ok.. put a 1 bar spring in the gate and took it for a drive waste gate didnt open until 17psi and kept creeping up past 23psi before i backed off. pulled gate off and changed to 7psi spring took for a drive gate opened at 10psi then creeped slowly up to 15 then flew round to 23 at high revs, so then i thought my gate might be faulty. so i pulled another tial 38mm gate off my mates fj20 and fitted still the same trouble. I am running 6mm id reference line from inlet manifold, It would seem the manifold doesnt have the ability to control boost pressure, Is any else running the same setup with good results? not sure what else to do

  20. My td06-20g 8cm turbo is on the way and I'm going to run it on one hybrid performance manifolds from the "steam pipe manifold" thread, for my rb20 with a tial 38mm external gate can't wait to get it running
  21. So should I buy one of these manifolds to run my kinugawa td06-25g on my rb20 or just do the external waste gate modification to my stock manifold
