  1. I too had a similar issue, however my experience was quite the opposite. It was taken care of thoroughly and rapidly by the dealership and Nissan Australia. They both exceeded my expectations. So well in fact I can barely remember it. I wasn't running a cobb or any miracle oil, and after reading of your experience don't think I ever will. Were you running the cobb with the TCU option as well as the ECU? If the tcu was not configured to suit your tune & mods it will lunch the cog swapper and, I am sorry to say Nissan Aust. would be right to politely knock back the claim. Upon further investigation of the vocal cases in the US it seems that the majority of the cars were also once running tunes, often ECU only. (you may need to use goggle cache to find them as they seem to be otherwise deleted from forums & blogs) An early sign of this could be a "not so snappy" change into even gears. The TCU controls the ECU to turn the power almost off during the shiftand only turns it back on after the clutch is bound again. If the power comes back on too soon or didn't turn down low enough it WILL physically destroy boxes. Keep an eye out for the lame shift! Really we cant expect any manufacturer to back a third parties dodgy firmware / software. Out of curiosity, what warrantee does Cobb or others offer on the performance of their product? Choose the performance products that offer the backing! If their warrantee is short or limited, we should ask why? We want confidence and if the manufacturer of performance stuff has no confidence in their products I sure won't have confidence. Enjoy your car, they are awesome.
  2. My dealer is trading my 09 in for just over the 100 mark, I assume they will turn it around to the next buyer for about 110 ish. My advice: 1. You may have to up your budget a little, maybe by as much as 20 - 25% 2. Dont worry about the number, it only happens once, after that it is all about the car, and what a car it is! You will be delighted, go on, do it!

    Phatso's first track day

Phatso's first track day At 8 weeks of age, 2000km on the dial..... A Nissan GTR owners day at Barbies
  7. The good news is that your transmission has the full suite of strenthening parts in it, so that any of the random failures you see on GTR transmissions from the FWD gear falling off through to the clutch baskets popping apart simply cant happen to yours. Look on it as a good insurance policy that doesnt need constant renewal So Martin, does that mean that ADM model does not have these, and is therefore a lesser gearbox?
  8. My experience has been quite the opposite. I had a floor mat that wasn't perfect and it was no trouble to get a complete new set of four, done in no time at all. As for track days, the dealership has taken me to two. They confirm track days are all good, oils must be replaced if cooked, at my expense. Otherwise they encourage it.
  9. My house mate drives both the 32 and 35 from time to time, her usual ride is a lancer.... (Tommi Makinen evo 6)
