  1. oops screwed up on the youTube embedding, but here is the link: http://
  2. Ok boys and girls, as promised I have some video of the exhaust http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/158597-unbelievable-pricing-full-titanium-exhausts-tomei-3.html#post1554446 Also - courtesy of Adam at FEAST Auto here in Japan - he spotted me in the paddock and recorded this: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/fIuIRYjscY8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  3. It may be costly if you import it yourself, but I have heard that an Australian dealer bought out the first shipment - in which case shipping costs would be lower, no?
  4. Dude I have no idea how much to Oz. I'm not selling it, just reporting it. All models have the same price. BTW - the tail pipe diameter is 120mm. Catback. (I asume you are asking, whether it is attached from behind the cat converter or whether it bolts directly to the front pipes?)
  5. Thanks Zamnap! Everyone, check out this link please: My linkhttp://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/384534-new-all-titanium-exhausts-from-tomei-powered/ 109,000 Yen for a full titanium exhaust is unheard of! Aki
  6. Some of you may have seen my post on my blog as well as on the UK forum - My linkhttp://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/158597-unbelievable-pricing-full-titanium-exhausts-tomei.html But I'll repeat what I posted there, namely - check out this ad in the December issue of GTR Magazine: The pricing is stunningly reasonable, at only 109,000 Yen. This is for a full titanium exhaust, full 90mm all the way to the muffler... Also - as I point out in the link above - no other tuner/parts maker in Japan can compete with this. The price is even cheaper than many used titanium exhausts I've seen on Yahoo Auctions Japan. The reason why as I've been told by Tomei is that they keep all production in-house. Everyone else, I guess, contracts out the production, hence the high overhead. The most important news, however, is that while demand is crazy everywhere (Japan, UK, EU), guess where the first shipment is apparently headed to? Yes. Aki
  7. NISMO I completely agree. So waxes, polishes, etc. anything petroleum based I think is susceptible to breakdown at heat. So the challenge is to find something that doesn't.... which lead me away from anything wax related. I DO take my car on a regular basis to the track, and the amount of brake dust and melted rubber wheels collect is amazing, so being able to clean quickly is important to me. Just speaking from my own experience...
  8. yeah, I guess I will (if the rules on this forum allow) make a proper post of elsewhere on the forum too...
  9. Yep that's me.... and Dino... Tomei will have a dedicated titanium exhaust for EACH model RB26 GT-R. Pricing will be announced on Dec 1 (in GT-R Magazine).... but a little birdie tells me that <cough> my blog may have that info even earlier, say around November 30? Aki
  10. oops posted twice sorry. DELETE this please!
  11. Ruxis - I found a product called "Glass Coating" - some kind of silica dioxide (? maybe) in liquid form that, when dry, forms (literally) a glass like coating. http://item.rakuten.co.jp/sensya/571291/ Not sure if they have anything similar in Oz, but just thought I'd mention it, as it really has made cleaning my wheels - RE30s as well as stock - so much easier. Dust and dirt still collect, but the wheels feel like they have a slick coating on them that just doesn't wear off... and so I never have to resort to any harsh cleaners/chemicals, just regular car wash (and sometimes, just a jet spray of water) and sponge are enough to do the trick. http://www.r33gt-r.com/2009/08/new-wheels-at-last.html here is how I applied it. HTH Aki
  12. If any of you visit the UK GTROC forum I am quite active there, with the same screen name/handle. But then realized that you guys and gals were almost in the same time zone... so this might be a better place to hang out? LOL Here is a recent photo of my car, I lent my car to Tomei Powered here in Japan so that they could develop a full titanium exhaust for us R32/R33/R34 owners (I've been told that the exhaust IS backwards compatible with non-GTR models!!! - but that has not been verified....). It seems that most tuners in Japan are pretty much focused on the R35, so it was nice to have Tomei decide to support us older Skyline folks. Anyway they decided to use my car not only for the exhaust development but also to put in their catalog/website... heck I'm not complaining. I look forward to getting to know everyone. Aki
