  1. The mechanic used consult 2, I have just asked if we can get a consult 3 to hook up to it. In the G35 manual it appears that the brake switch is apart of the vehicle stability system and the switch most would classify as the brake switch is in fact called the vehicle stop light switch. So we are seeing what we can find in relation to the wiring for this ASCD Brake Switch to see if it could be this. Hopefully the consult 3 gives us some more information.
  2. Unfortunately I had already bought the car. The general consensus from all who know a thing or two about them is our issue isn't the transmission. Appears we have a wiring issue with communication going to the transmission. So looks like the transmission isnt the bad guy this time.
  3. Hi, Just wondering if anyone has had brake switch as an error code come out of their V35 350GT-8 before. The transmission service has been fully completed and computer reset but she is still not changing gears and we are getting brake switch error coming out of the tranny. Have been corresponding with CVT NZ and Nuwan but we are all at a bit of a loss now. Cheers
  4. I am more than happy to pay for their time in helping us. This has been going on for 6 months and we are officially at our wits end. I am willing to pay in whichever method they prefer. I have recently purchased fluid for the car in japan so have no issues with international transactions. Do you have any idea of where i can start looking to find somebody?
  5. Hi there, Can anyone tell me if they know of any english speaking V35 specialists in Japan. Specifically one who will be able to help diagnose a CVT problem. We have exhausted pretty much all of our options in Aus and NZ. Cheers
  6. Thanks for that. That definitely is a big job, that was changing from the 5AT to a 6MT. We figured that that would a much bigger job than the CVT to 5AT conversion due to the clutch, park brake move etc.
  7. Hi, I was just wondering, I have seen a number of topics that have been started about people starting the processing of converting their 350GT-8 from the CVT to either a 6MT or 5AT. None of these topics have noted whether or not the conversion was successful. Can anyone tell me, has this ever successfully been done? It is an option that we are considering, changing our CVT to a 5AT. If we do this will we need to change the drive shaft, ecu etc? Will the triptronic still work or will we need to change the gear lever also? Our car also has the paddle shift on the steering wheel. Will these be rendered useless with the change? We have attempted to do our own research, we have found alot of information that people have posted in relation to talking about it what they thought they would need to do, but have not been able to find anything that confirms what will be required or if the change was even successful. I would rather find out now before we start the process of spending big $$$ on the car. Would much rather just scrap it out for parts if we cant either fix our problem or successfully change the transmission without needing to rob a bank. Cheers (Also for those that are looking for it, here is the doc on how to correctly change the fluid in a CVT)oil change REOR4A.pdf
  8. Just letting you know, if you take the instructions that I messaged to you and the car to MV Automatics in Blackwood they are able to change the fluid for you. They were really great with our car and the service was second to none. Will be taking the car back there for any future tranny services.
  9. Ok I have a piece of interesting information. We have a friend in Japan who has contacted nissan in Japan for us. Apparently there was never a CVT Nissan V35 Skyline released in Japan for the Japanese market, so they are saying that they dont know anything about them. Yet to take the care to Sinergy, hopefully get it there next week.
  10. Please personal message me, I have a document which I can email you from CVT NZ which shows the correct way to change the fluid. It will take 7 - 8 litres of fluid. I had mine done, but the change was done as per other instructions and apparently this is incorrect when I have discussed with the NZ guys. So looks like I am going to have to do mine again.
  11. MV Automatics did my fluid change, they did confirm with me when it was done that they unfortunately do not have the information required to do a diagnosis from an error code. I have contacted Sinergy and they seem pretty confident that they will be able to help me work it out, so hopefully I am on to something here! Thanks for the suggestions guys, will let you know how we go
  12. Thanks Scotty, any suggestions on who I could contact? My mechanic is not having any luck with the Nissan dealers in Adelaide, non of them like to go out of their way for an import owner unfortunately.
  13. I am in Adelaide. Snow mode is definitely not on. I make sure of things like that when I drive the car. The code that has come out is "CVT Function" I was given the print out from Southern Hi-Tech but no numbered codes print out on the docket I was given. They took the car to Nissan for me so they could use the correct scan tool. I didnt take it to them myself as I havent had a very nice experience with their customer service, thinking I am a silly female!
  14. Hey I was wondering if you guys knew what ended up happening with this car? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/167659-help-help-help/
  15. Hey, I know that this is a really old thread, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me if kleenbeats fixed the problem he was having with his car? I have attempted to PM but it appears that he no longers comes onto the forums. I am currently having this same issue with my car and the same error code, but nobody seems to know what exactly is causing it. I spoke with CVT in NZ but they have said that it is because my car needs a tranny service. Problem with that, this has already been done and with the correct fluid before anybody rattles on about this. The fluid and instructions were provided by Nuwan at Import Revolution. I have searched the forums but have not been able to find a thread detailing how he fixed the issue.
  16. I was just wondering did this workshop manual get translated? If so I would definitely be interested in purchasing one We have one for the G35 from America but would prefer a true V35 one.
  17. In my car it is for the mirrors folding in and out when locking the car.
  18. I have searched through the forums and haven't been able to find anyone that has had the same issue or error code come up. We will continue our search for a reputable mechanic in Canberra or try to call our mechanic in SA to see if he can help us as to what the code may mean. Found lots of bad remarks on the CVT box though. As i mentioned above we had it confirmed by the scanning that the gearbox is still fine and the fluid has been changed and fully serviced with the liquid gold. That was only 3000kms ago and there was no sign of wear or damage to the box.
  19. It is difficult to explain but we have had it confirmed that the error is definitely not from the gearbox. Sometimes when you first start driving the car it will get stuck in first, after a few mins it will change gears by itself. But when it is stuck in first you can't even change the gear manually. The person who got the code for us said that even with the car off one of the sensors was reading 62rpm. Do you think this could be a gearbox issue or steer me to someone in Canberra that could help? We haven't had much luck calling around or asking the ACT boys in this forum thus far. We tried the Nissan service centre and they said they can't help with an import.
  20. Were you meaning that I try posting in the Stagea section?
  21. Hey, We have managed to source a person who could read the engine error codes on our V35. We have got the engine error code of C1132. After doing some research we have found that it means: Engine signal 3 - Based on the signal from the ECM, ABS Actuator and electric unit (control unit) judges that the fuel cut system is malfunctioning. We have also been advised that one of our speed sensors is not reading correctly - which they think could also be causing this error code. Not knowing any import people in Canberra - coming from SA on holidays - we are having a little difficulty working out what it all means and how to fix it. If it is just the speed sensor we are able to replace this as we have a spare but would like to be certain before we drive the car long distance. Thanks in advance.
  22. I have a dilemma, we are stuck in Canberra with our V35, with an issue that nobody can seem to diagnose and we have searched on the internet via google and the car trouble website with no such luck. So thought we would try here. We drove the V35 - CVT to Canberra with no issues whatsoever, the car was an absolute dream. Arrived in Canberra and two days later the car seemed to go into "failsafe" mode ie stuck in first gear when driving. This was happening every time we drove it and so when it happened when first driving the car we went straight back to where we are staying so as not to drive it a long distance. We saw a mechanic the day after it happened and they did get the error code and cleared this and the car drove fine for a short amount of time. The issue of being stuck in first gear happened again. We sourced the IPS sensors from Melbourne to change these over (as the failsafe issue happened in the past and this fixed the problem). When driving to go and get these replaced - after nursing the car for a km or 2 driving at 40km so as not to over rev the car, she started changing gears and purring like the kitten she is. We changed the sensors and the problem persisted, we drove out to a friends workshop with a scan tool and the problem happened intermittently when first driving the car, but the scan tool was not able to read the issue at all. The mechanic who could read the issue is now closed until mid January and we are due back to SA well before then. Do you guys have any idea as to what could possibly be the issue? We have spoken on the phone to the guys at Import Revolution in Melbourne, they are saying that it could be the solenoid in the CVT, which would mean dropping all the fluid out, changing the solenoid and replacing all the fluid in the gearbox (costing thousands) or it could be the fact that the wrong fluid has been put in the CVT in the past (this I dont think is possible as we changed the fluid completely about 3000kms ago and the fluid in there was still the original fluid with no issues at all) or the fluid could possibly be a little low - this we are checking today. We are wracking our heads and it is driving us a little batty, we would like to try all other options before dropping all of the liquid gold out of the car. I know that not many of you know the V35 and loath the CVT but, thought we would try our luck.
  23. Hey guys, We are currently in ACT from SA visiting family for the holidays. We have encountered a minor issue with our V35 and dont want to risk driving the car home with the current issue. Can any of you guys recommend a mechanic in the ACT that will be open on the business days during the holiday period that have a scan tool that can read the V35 engine and CVT transmission? Thanks in advance, Newv35owner
