  1. Side note - not going to bother trying to fit that Z-tune style fins to the bonnet, it will require a bit of cutting and I can't really be bothered!
  2. Got my lazy ass of the couch this weekend, made that bonnet fit - painted it gloss black, looks really good. had to raise the front coil-overs a little just so i could get out of my driveway. and was noticing it was becoming increasingly more and more difficult to start - I put this down to the E85 and cold weather but turns out the little battery just wasn't keeping up, turns out if these cars don't see a good amount of voltage they won't fire. I had already moved the battery to the boot so had plenty of room, I just upgraded to the biggest battery i could fit/afford, then used "0" gauge cable on it. going to upgrade the starter and alternator wires to "O" gauge in the future. Pics - Battery before and after (exciting stuff)
  3. Get onto Tao from Hypergear, he's on Facebook and in the link above ^ cost was around $850ish I think (don't quote me)
  4. Not to mention the things that would break from such a failure, a poor man pays twice. to OP - you've asked for feedback on cheap coilovers, you have received such feedback, the general consensus is that they are shit, but the current situation you're in with cut springs is also of concern. I have a feeling you were hoping for answers such as "yeah they ok" they all right" but in reality they will cause you more headaches than they're worth. Good advice here would be to take car of road till decent suspension components can be installed. Cheers.
  5. Not the best news about it being loose, have you noticed a lack of power? Is it NA or turbo? Also if the gasket you currently have is shagged them use the new one, unless you wanna buy a metal gasket. But I would use a broke gasket. also are you hanging to a FFP? Maybe just when you put it all back back together just make sure everything's tight, nothing should be loose enough to allow air to escape.
  6. Don't think that's acceptable man seems pretty poor on there behalf, I've used them a couple of times and it's kinda hit and miss, sometimes the guys can't help you at all so you've just gotta know exactly what you need. went in there one time had a guy spending ages trying to find the right fitting for me, said we needed to use some adapter and all up was going to be like $80 for a right hand bend fitting from like dash 5 to dash 6 the other side, I went to a place called "Enzed" and they had exactly what I needed for $10... and it had a psi rating too (Enzed is a hydraulic hose fitting specialist) I usually go there first before Proflow now.
  7. Update - bought a second hand bonnet, cut the lip off, and it fits perfectly with the front bar. then cut out the Z tune fenders and threw it on! looks like i could make this work.... now for some more cutting and bogging. I've been adding regular videos to youtube just based around my 34, heres something i threw together after a day down the Great Ocean Road-
  8. Haven't done much recently, but still playing around with the body kit, I've sprayed up my side skirts, rear bar and fitted them. I'm pretty happy with it. I'm still looking into a new diff, then perhaps later down the track a plazmaman cooler new coil packs and a re tune. added some photos i took with my mates too. I'm gonna say for the first time I am considering building the motor... No fancy 25/30 stuff either just straight up 25neo built.... maybe one day if the wallet allows. stay tuned.
  9. Went for a bit of a boost today while giving my new camera a run, and the Z-tune bonnet i had repaired ripped apart from the skin that was fun. heres a video of it happening - and some photos when i got it home.
  10. mate I'm totally guttered you're not going with a forward facing plenum and 3' piping! it'd look so much neater and you'd have no clearance issues with your injectors! also just a side note - the tomei FPR isn't supposed to work with E85, the diaphragm inside it will eventually eat away, I found this out when the sales rep from Tomei told me while i was over in Japan on holidays, so i switched out to a turbo smart FPR.
  11. welcome mate! any plans on future mods? will you be like everyone else and turbo it one day? perhaps some body mods for now? - Dan
  12. does the car feel like it drops 14psi? you'd certainly feel the cut or decrease in power, if not its probably a setting within the boost controller, look into how to set it up correctly.
  13. Whilst at the tuners - he noticed a slight exhaust leak, also was told my intercooler isn't flowing to well..and then later to have a problematic CAS makes me think that I should go back for a re tune with a better cooler, probably plazmaman.
  14. andddd because today was such a nice day i got some painting done so happy with my devilbiss SGK 600! I fan it out a bit more when laying down colour, and then concentrate a tiny bit more for clear, and it comes out great! it was still a little cold when i did my bonnet but nothing a block back and buff won't fix
  15. I had been having drama's with the car - it occasionally after a bit of a drive refused to start when warm... 5 mins later it would start. as it got worst it started miss firing at around 3k rpm, eventually it refused to rev past 3krpm and just had ignition cut! It turned out to be a faulty CAS! the disk inside the CAS had scratches and wear marks on it, so replaced with another one and it came back alive
  16. since the freddy went on i had to dodgy up some piping so i could drive to the exhaust shop to get my cooler piping made up, I was also in the process of mounting my battery in the boot as i wanted that space free'd up for other things like my BOV, FPR and oil filter. I used the same battery mounts - just modified, a little. its really firm and in a good spot, kinda like the r33. I also used a 100amp fuse right next to the battery ( in the spot were the cable ties the cable down) i got 3" piping made up, and right before the plenum i had my adjustable GFB BOV mounted, along with the idle control port. the BOV can still recirculate wasted air as the exhaust shop has made up a small 1" pipe that carry's the air from BOV back across the radiator and plumbed back into turbo. when I was able to drive the car again i noticed my acceleration pedal was rather "sticky" that was due to a crappy throttle body, i tried modifying it and tried to make it better but it was hard to crack open and it liked to stay open after you take your foot of the pedal. anyway my tune was booked in so i took her in and it was tuned with a dodgy throttle body on, shortly after replaced with a HyperTune Q45 throttle, and it was fantastic! made just under 350kw's I did still however have a high idle (1100rpm) with my idle adjustment screw wound in i found the only way to bring the idle down was to disconnect the electric adjusting motor, which i later put in a switch so i could keep the higher idle for cold starts. Next up was re-going over my braking system. I was using EBC blue stuff pads which didn't do too bad for the price, but i need something more reliable and something with more bite, so i switched over to Project U's HC 800 pads, coupled with some DBA track rotors, and HEL braided lines. I got the pads and rotors in, but haven't yet done the brake lines when changing over pads i for some stupid reason decide to throw out my anti squeal shims *angry face* so when i put this pads in they squeal like crazy! so I did purchase some new anti squeal shims, along with seal kits for all 4 callipers, which i plan to instal soon. This low KM 250GT popped up for sale real cheap, so it became the missus new daily!
  17. Got my adapter plate today, cheers Ben! This will help retaining the Idle control on my 34.
  18. Port and polished the Plenum today, it definitely needed porting there was bits of Aluminium slag all over it, and inside the ports too, nothing the dremel couldn't take care of. Probably going to regret painting it oneday, but the colours are so shiny!
  19. Leave the pink bits on! Adds character lol
  20. Used for only 6 months, heard they shouldn't be used for e85 so I've gone with turbo smart. pickup geelong or will post for extra $20
  21. Selling Takata Harness brand new in box, Cams approved Note these are fake copies however they are cams approved, they lock in very well with a secure pin bolt 5 way locking hub, these have been tried and tested by myself and others. Quality fabric used, strong stitching and they also come with eyelet bolts that simply bolt right into your existing seatbelt holes. Will sell them at $120 each shipped. Thanks.
  22. thanks mate ^ went from fast n furious fanboy to track day and practicality parts in about 6 months. Sound system is long gone now. Got my exhaust manifold back from havoc after 4 weeks, firstly they told me the manifold I sent them was cracked, so they charged me $70 for a new second hand one, then when I got it back it hadn't been ported and polished like they said, it didn't have the Havic plate welded on - not that it matters but it'd be nice! And then it didn't fit! I had to drill out the holes and attempt to port it myself, needless to say wasn't very impressed, then later realised there were bits missing my from external gate, so yeah that was frustrating but got it on in the end. HD cooler looks so neat inside I hope it makes a difference. All the goodies I have to install I took of my Tomei FPR and changed it for a turbosmart FPR because Tomei apparently aren't recommended for use with E85 Had to relocate my windscreen wiper bottle to get the new intercooler piping through. ended up heating up the bottle with heat gun and re-shaping it. Now it looks like an aborted potato. Heres my Plenum, its all "Freddy" to be bolted on (see what i did there?) unsure about using the throttle body as I've heard I may be better off using the standard one (unsure why will do more research) but this one looks awesome it'd be a shame not to use it. I bulk orded a heap of fake Takata harnesses as I am now selling them so hit me up if you want one for $100. they look awesome and are Cams approved At the weekend just gone I had my Tomei 256 cams installed by a pro mechanic, was also going to get him to instal the Cam gears and clear cam cover, however he ran into a problem when the Cam gears didn't actually fit!!! Mega pissed off! then i realised i bought the wrong ones (R34 GTR) Turns out R33 gtst, R33 gtt 33 gtr and 34 gtr all share the same part number so i think i had the correct cams just don't know why they didn't fit. however Cams went in no probs. Got a Boost gauge connected into the turbo hot side outlet to see just how hard its working, also will be good to see pressure drop across the cooler. Thats about all for now, will get the Freddy sand blasted before installing it, and ill hit it with the Die grinder coz its rough as guts. more soon - Daniel.
  23. what a nightmare! lol sounds like you're having a few issues, when I changed my pads over i had my disc's machined, did you bleed your brakes? and when you bed them in never come to a full stop. Also when i went to change my turbo the other day i only had 3 bolts lol! so yeah track days do loosen them ahah I was gonna come to Calder spewing i didn't
  24. Just a quickie - Hypergear made up my ATR45SAT today, Getting my external gate thats been welded onto manifold from Havoc tomorrow, and just bought a HDI intercooler. happy days ahead! now to eat fried rice and noodles for a few weeks aha
