  1. Hi hypergear I hear what you are saying, but I still can't exactly work out in my head what the issue will be with the boost spiking. Is it just impossible to hold the boost at a stable number? Your setup and numbers look good, but I was hoping for even less lag than you have and not as much top end, is it right thinking that it's a waist having a turbo that could produce more than you want? Or do you think that's about as good as its going to get, because if you go smaller you have the boost spiking issues?
  2. They were r34 gtr n1s Were never dynoed, they would have been alot better if tuned properly and stuff but I just wanted single for the ease of working on the car. The n1s got on boost at about 4-4500 which I was not stoked with.
  3. Hey guys, been doing some reading and found this old old post. Can't find to much more on the subject. I am currently setting up a small turbo on my r32 gtr, after putting n1 turbos on and hating them I decided I was never going through the twin turbo shit fight again, and I couldn't see why one turbo, wouldn't spool up better than two that are similar size combined, you have less mass to turn, in one turbo, and less bearings, less friction, maybe I'm wrong, but I couldn't find a straight answer anywhere so I decided I needed to do it myself. I have a STD engine so won't be chasing big power, so I decided I would go for response instead, I have a very low budget and have done all the work myself. The turbo I chose was a kinugawa tdo6sl2-20g ($1000) This is t3, internally gated and has a 8cm rear housing. It came with all the gaskets and hoses I needed to fit it to the engine, didn't have to buy another thing in that area. Have heard alot about these turbos and really wanted to give one a go. This is bolted to a ebay manifold ($350), and did some custom intake piping from some silicone joiners off eBay and some alloy pipe laying around at home ($50) For the dump pipe, I used 3 inch flexible stainless truck exhaust ($60), down to the cat, this is welded onto a vband flange which came with the turbo I know some of you would be cringing by now at this set up, but I'm into trying somthing Different. I brought a second hand adaptronic e1280s off my mate for $500 and wired in a map sensor ($60) The set up hasn't run yet, just in the final stages of setting up the adaptronic, I have heard of people making 300kw with these turbos on sr20s and rb25s, so I don't see why the 26 won't do it, and it should have very little lag which will make it awesome to drive and look after my STD engine, not having to rev it hard to get ssomewhere. Or it might just not work... Haha we'll soon find out. Let me know your thoughts guys

  5. hey, I have done as much research on this as I can and cant find the answer Im looking for. I need to change the head gasket on my standard rb26, and I want to put on the smallest one I can, for highest comp. I have found apexi make a 0.8mm. my question is will this be fine for a standard engine or could I have interference problems. Also does anyone know of any thinner gaskets? and whats the lowest I could go without having problems? thanks.
  6. at the end of the day if they want it they will get it. but it didnt help that i had no alarm at all. they would have thrashed it for sure, its a stolen gtr! but i am a mechanic and have sussed it out a fair bit, and seems to be running as normal, to tell you the truth i dont want to know the compressions, there isnt much you can do about it anyway, and my wallet isnt ready for a full rebuild at this stage.
  7. hey guys, a mate on mine found my car parked in Broadway shopping center on tuesday of last week, by complete coincidence. i had a few people contact me that had seen this post and a few posts on facebook pages, they had witnessed an armed robbery that my car was used for. i went to the carpark where my car was and called the cops, they towed it to an impound lot and investigated it, i then got it back last thursday. it has some damage to the body and one wheel, but nothing to major, and mechanically it seems to be fine. after talking to police i found out it had been used in several armed robberys around the city and was likely just dumped in the carpark. i must be the luckyest guy out to ever even see this car again. thanks for your concern and help, and it shows that putting it up all over the internet helped, i think social media did more in this case than police ever could have.
  8. never parked there before, was on a side street in the city, pretty busy, a person saw it happening and told the cops but they didnt do anything at the time.
  9. hey guys my much loved r32 gtr got stolen today around 3pm from the side of the rd in ultimo, sydney city, it is fairly standard looking, midnight blue, spaced stock wheels, got a few little dings in the bonnet and passenger guard, the wing has paint chipped off it, has r34 n1 turbos, blitz turbo timer, innovate wide band in the glove box, oil cooler behind front bar, oil relocation kit, nismo 555 injectors, amr chipped computer, amr fuel reg, turbosmart manual boost controler, hks jazma catback, stainless y pipe from turbos, front lip is pretty railed, has a chrome tow bar, not many have a tow bar! there are holes drilled in the chassis rails at the back for the tow bar, pretty obvious. if anyone sees any parts being sold please let me know, the rego is bmf-76e and yes, i will be crying myself to sleep tonight. also sorry if i posted this in the wrong spot.
