  1. The car seems to run worse on colder air. does this sound like an airflow meter?
  2. I've heard green label, i checked mine and it was green label. Also, today i tried unplugging it and running the car without one, but it ran like a piece of shit. basically ran the same as when it plays up, except when its connected it goes away for a while. (edit) just been informed this is due to limp mode. Ill explain it so i can get a few more opinions; When i start the car up cold is when it's at its worst, the idle will bounce up and down for a bit, sometimes sit at close to 2000rpm for a while, and i have to wait for the engine to heat up a bit before its driveable. if i try drive it before its warm, the car will stutter, and rev's behave as if they're hitting a limiter. if i idle and rev the car while its playing up, it will also behave as if it's hitting a limiter, at around 2500-3000 revs. recently its been quite hot and ive noticed the car has been able to drive straight away from a cold start, but in a cold climate it will play up. The car will drive fine for a while once warm, and have the occasional miss and lose power for a bit, but it comes back. might do this a few times before back to normal. It hasnt been too bad recently in the hot weather. Also, when im idle, sometimes the engine will just die. Thats all i can think of at the moment.
  3. Alright fellas, so, my car has been idling funny, missing and shutting down while idle etc. And it's come to my attention that its most likely the airflow meter. Just wandering, will it make much, if any difference if i put an AFM suited for an rb25det, on an rb25de? im having a hard time finding an rb25de suited AFM on ebay. Cheers.
  4. Possible air flow meter problem. if the car stars to miss, and turn off while idle, AFM is your best bet. I have a similar problem, and so far, every similar story i've read seems to be a dodgy air flow meter. I also got the error code for AFM while getting it tested. I'm still yet to fix it and find out if that was the problem though.
  5. Never have i seen a "good" r32 non turbo for 5k. the non turbo's are much harder to find, especially with 94000km's. Also, the N/A's are going for more than the gts-t's anyways. Though i wouldnt pay 8k, i wish i saw this before i bought mine
  6. Mate is looking to buy an r32 gtst manual. Anyways, looking for a cheap gtst preferably black. for around 5k with or without rego, up to 10k max. He is more looking for a semi project car that needs a bit of work. open to cars complete or not.
  7. It is legal, generally you have to get a mechanically engineered certificate but since r32's came factory with rb25de engines it's legal.
  8. The car is located in sydney. And the guy did send me pictures of the car. I've found out hes not a p-plater himself. He did state that the car was slightly unfinished. It was going to become his daily but lost interest as he threw a rb30det into the old chasis of the rb25 engine and has no need for a second skyline. Apparently, the car was imported by a middle aged woman and then sold to a mechanic and then to this guy, so that means it hasnt been a p-platers car yet, but who knows. You can never fully trust a seller. Then again he didnt try to hide anything (that i know of so far). I've seen skylines of similar condition go for 7k+ on sau unregistered and all. so im thinking this is an alright deal. The condition of the car may only be worth 2.5k but because of the demand they're going for a lot more.
  9. Hey guys, i recently found an r32 gts-t that has been converted to an rb25de to suit p-platers. Im assuming the guy was or is a p-plater as the motor came from his gts25. Anyways, the engine has done 180,000k's and the chasis has done 142,000. Basically what i wanna know is, is it worth buying for $4900. How much longer do you think it will last assuming it has been thrashed a little bit? I could most likely knock off a few hundred aswell. The guy also mentioned it needs a new alternator and is in need of a wheel alignment, and a few other minor things like new fluids, wire up reverse light switch, tiny bit of rust starting on rear windscreen etc. nothing major. The car is also not rego'd and in need of a blue slip. What do you guys think? Should I do it? I'm really keen on a skyline.
