  1. Do you plan to keep it after warranty is up? Everyone recommended getting a dog hammock for children. Protects the interior from baby seats and makes cleaning it a million times easier (and spill proof). And still have access to isofix and seatbelts etc https://kurgo.com.au/products/heather-hammock
  2. I get that. Trying to get the mrs to keep the car clean on the inside will be the biggest challenge no doubt. i30 N Line. Hatchbacks are dying so choices were fairly limited, but the i30 fit'n'finish and interior was very impressive (for the price range and being 2023). yep, got floor mats & dash mat. I'll get a boot mat aftermarket at some point as well. We'll see about how hard it can be driven so early. From the sounds of things the gearbox likes to be warmed up and can (allegedly) take a while to run in. good tip about end of warranty. I just have a distrust of stealerships to a) actually fix anything b) be cooperative/attentive when describing issues. Hyundai has 5 years warranty though so maybe at 2 years I'll do that.
  3. Pick up a new family car in a few days. I've had brand new work cars before, but who cares about those. It's fresh off the boat - 9kms in the storage yard, 20kms at the dealership, ~40kms after I test drive it. Obviously a few more once I take delivery. The plan at the moment is to minimise freeway driving for the first 1500kms (being regional that's unlikely) - warm it up properly, keep it within the bottom half of the rev range with varied load etc. I don't trust OEM paint anymore, so often it seems very thin and prone to chips (regardless of manufacturer) so I would like to get a gentle paint detail and then clear/protective wrap the whole front of the car. Eventually get quality window tint. Eventually get some nice wheels for it (OEM wheels suck). What have you done for your new cars? Is there anything else worth doing while the car is still fresh?
  4. FYI - I still have this car believe it or not. The Gloria is gone ( ) but 90s manual cars are worth holding onto and heavily modified pulsars arent worth much. Priorities have changed, my plans for track work have taken a toll on me and the car... now im a boomer and just wanting a street car. Updates since 2017: 2018: I was working interstate and went to start the car after 5+ months: wouldnt run. 2019: get it sussed out and turns out to be a lose wire at ignition barrel. 2nd gear under WOT has issues, not sure why. 2023: move house, go to move car and doesnt start. Looks to be fuel pump. Might look into eventually. The main things are: no rust. rolls ok. I'm going to struggle to get a roadworthy on this thing for classic car rego down the line. Thinking about re-shelling it down the line, not sure if I can be bothered though. So I'll just continue to sit on it and occasionally think about working on it.
  5. see y'all just complaining about skyline things. The rest of us who have never rated skylines all that highly, are not surprised. At least with Pulsar, once a shitbox always a shitbox. But i'll take that over any modern cars for sure. Forgetting to pay your rego and then the car becomes unregistered... thats when it's game over.
  6. I pulled some out on the way down. Planned to keep most for the long haul but I was stupid and deposited a lot into platform(s) that went under. I knew the risk but I had no idea how f**king stupid some of these companies/platforms actually were. In terms of mining, it was kinda profitable but chump change really in the scheme of things. Basically covered transaction fees. NiceHash mining is dead now due to ethereum halting mined blocks. 2022 really showed how f**ked the the industry is. Much more than I thought. I'm proper bearish in 2023 and will sit on the sidelines until some quality people/businesses start to run things or set an example. The damage could be done though, banks won't touch any crypto firm now. Some did pre-2022. There was so much money sloshing around that the big crypto firms were buying tiny banks in jurisdictions just to be able to try and withdraw currency.
  7. have you tried comparing with stagea wiring diagrams? C34s specifically. similar drivetrains, same gearboxes, motors, AWD etc. Not much english info on those RB25 versions, mostly in Russia. Try russian forums.
  8. anyone know how custom plates work? Sold car interstate. I want to keep numberplates. I want to get refund on my paid rego. Vicroads wants a stat dec and money to retain the rights to them? I left the pulsar rego to lapse with plates and no one gives a shit.
  9. Great thread! I have no doubt these cars are tricky to get your head around. Being a grey import nissan AND a hybrid.
  10. This car has been my weekend cruiser since 2015 and sadly must find a new home. Covid has sapped my motivation to keep too many cars. Purchased, shipped and complied via J-Spec Imports in late-2014. I have the de-registration papers with genuine kms and pre-shipping photos of the car. The car has done less than 20,000kms since arriving in Aus. 2003 Nissan Gloria GranTurismo (Y34 facelift) 3L V6 Turbo (VQ30DET) 122,000kms 4sp Auto (RE4) Black with blackwood interior 3-way electric sunroof Electric windows and seats Dual climate control Quirks & features: 6 stacker CD player with remote (can play video via OEM composite RCA input) DVD drive in the boot for loading maps Hood ornament & Gloria badge on the rear Pillarless doors with rear doors that open a full 90 degrees Factory option Bumper chrome trim Factory option lip kit Slimline weathershields Speaks to you in Japanese I have OEM seat doilies & brochures for the car Aftermarket additions: 3" stainless turbo-back exhaust, hi-flow cat Sense brand exhaust tips Shift kit from MV Automatics (shifts nicely, not firm) Helical diff from a M35 Stagea professionally installed Full audio system replacement integrated into the factor unit w/ amp & controller Alpine splits & tweeters in the front, generic speakers in the back 8" Pheonix Gold subwoofer in the parcel shelf (OEM) Sound deadening throughout the car Chrome folding side mirrors with indicators & puddle lights Parking light (illuminates with headlights) BC Coilovers Adjustable rear suspension arms KN's front strut brace 6pot & 4pot big brake kit Roof lip Tinted windows Brand new tyres I believe this car belongs in the peak late-90s Nissan era, before Renault involvement and before Nissan's design philosophy turned a bit ugly (inside & out). While it is not a top of the range Y34, it is a very optioned example without the dreaded CVT gearbox. The only Y34 in Aus with a factory sunroof, plus the rare blackwood interior. It's been a very reliable car, with the only issue being the gearbox speed sensor leaking oil (which I had fixed a few years ago). Many parts are shared with the Z33 & V35 platforms. A winner at the 2016 SAU Vic Show'n'Shine Asking $16,000 No roadworthy certificate Located in Glen Waverley, VIC I have lots of spares, cosmetic items and wheels available which can be negotiated with a buyer. There is a translation print-out of the dash & menus, it's quite straight forward to navigate.
  11. "“Due to the implementation of Australia’s unique pole side impact design rules (ADR 85), the Nissan GT-R will not be imported into the Australian market after October 31, 2021,” Sounds like half of Lexus' lineup will also be axed. Good times.
  12. Rajab racing I came to a conclusion last year: that most car workshops can't run a business and don't actually want your money. Try making a booking at most places... "We're busy at the moment, maybe in a month or two, contact me then" "I'll get back to you in a few weeks" Just make a booking ffs, it's not hard. "Oh my work partner has my hoist at the moment so I can't do the job right now, maybe in 6 months time" If I wanted a turn key job on the pulsar (a shopping list of small issues), my options are pretty much Racepace and a 5 figure hole in my pocket. Trying to book the Gloria in for suspension work: legit can't book something in. Obviously lockdown doesn't help.
  13. I bought a new keyboard last year and wanted backlighting/RBG with a nice wrist rest... rules out 90% of keyboards. Got a Corsair K60 Pro SE, with hybrid switches. The switches are good, actuation is a little bit high for my liking. Would have been good to get some audio/volume control otherwise for the money im happy with it.
  14. Anyone here with newish VW's? I thought cars sorted the leaky sunroof issue in the 90s, lol apparently not. Even cars new on the lost got water stains on the roof. Euro's cheapening up build quality a lot since COVID.
  15. this guy must be loaded since it wasn't worth his time even taking the car cover off for photos.
  16. The more I think about this, the crazier this is. Whoever has done the conversion has literally had to move the turbo from behind the motor to the front of the motor, so that the steering column & rack can fit. The exhaust must be all over the place... the side mount intercooler is still used... did they have to install an electric fan because the clutch fan is now gone?? ....... and also theres the Infiniti M45 in the states, which is very much a similar car and LHD.
  17. converted to LHD... I'm... amazed the car runs at all. Take a photo of the nameplate and we can tell you if the gearbox is a regular auto or a CVT gearbox.
  18. I'm not going to be sending any more emails. see 3 posts above where everything is on google drive.
  19. needs 20mm spacers or GTR offsets. And they put the flares over top of the pinstripes. pathetic.
