  1. all good nick ... just checking out whose saying what about my car ... I find it all so amusing that people have certain opinions about something they know absolutely nothing about ... be great to catch up ... buzz or text me if you like 0414922209 be great to touch base ... mal ...

  3. ... bit wet for me i think ... dont fancy aquaplaning straight through the armco & landing in a gorge ... ...
  4. ... mmm !? ... "CHOCOLATE" ... 'bout time i got it off the stands & out of storage ... ... ... sounds like fun ... ... if it doesnt look like too much or any rain ... got the semi slicks on ... & if im not working ... ?! ... ...
  5. ... any Silver on an R32 ... & while we're talking about it ... Midnite Purple for an R33 & Bayside Blue for an R34 ... ...
  6. ... i guess my question & answer to all of this is ... forget what happens when you get defected for a third time ... concentrate very hard on not ever getting defected a first time ! ... ...
  7. ... i agree with chris (evil_weevil) ... ... ... i am amazed every time this comes up ... defects arent handed out to people just to piss them off & give them an excuse to say "see the police are out to get me" ... no you morons ... you are giving the defect to yourselves ... all the police are doing is pointing out that youve defected your own car by doing whatever it is to defect it ... every country has "standards" for design & safety & engineering ... if you get a defect it because you deserve it ... its pretty simple to work out that if you dont mod your car up in a way that contradicts the "standards" you wont get a defect ... or i like to say this ... "if you dont want a defect placed on your car DONT place a decfect on your car" ... part of the conditions of your drivers licence & your registration being issued to you is that you comply with what is required "by law" around modding your car in an unconventioinal way ... if you get a moment check out my car in the garage ... its had every component modded in some way but its never had a defect because everything done to it is "legal" ... cheers malcolm
  8. ... interesting !? ... where did you first see it if you didnt see it in the thread ? ... i havnt driven it for a while it did less than 100klms between regos last year ... am looking forward to getting it off the stands & out of lock up sometime soon ... cheers malcolm
  9. ... nice one ... ! ... thank you that's very kind ... ...
  10. ... try calling Pack & Send i use them all the time between Sydney & Brisbane ... ...
  11. ... fuel injected late model camry is meant to be good !?! ... ... i like the fact it's still original so im goin got leave it as is ... i quite enjoy putting around in it ... & to start spending any real money on it like an engine conversion defeats the purpose of getting it so cheap ... ...
  12. ... you can say that again !! ... you can jump out going up a hill run over to the nearest tree take a leak & jump back in all before it's covered 15 meters !!! ... hahah !!!! ... first thing i did was fit extractors & a straight through 2in exhaust which has helped heaps ... my skylines just under 300rwkw so I don't mind having the exact opposite in something I can go beach fishing or camping in ... ...
  13. ... had it been in sydney it would have been $5000 for sure ... it's got the 2 litre petrol ... what a bargain hey ... i reckon there's $1500 worth of tyres on it !! ... ...
  14. ... speaking of which i just recently bought this 1980 Hilux 4WD ... yep 31 years old ! ... spotted it in car sales in wagga ... rang the guy & flew down there ... no real idea of how many klms because the odometer on those first model 4WD's only went to 99,000 before it clicked over again ... he was a genuine guy & the second owner ... the first owner worked in the mines & had it for over 20 years ... the truck is in great shape with the original engine & gearbox ... it has no rust anywhere ... used but not abused id call it ... everything works & it has no issues at all ... i paid $2000 cash for it ... ...
  15. ... unless a car is obviously mint & in unused condition with low klms to match i personally wouldn't take much notice of the odometer reading ... a car can have more than average klms on it but been owned by a fastidious person who services it properly & often & be a good investment against some cowboy who has a car with genuine low klms but thrashes it senseless never checking anything ... a car with 150,000 more klms on it can easily be a better car if it's been well cared for & serviced often ... my brother in law for example does a service & changes the oil & filter on his entire families cars every 3000 klms religiously ... some of them are in the 400,000 klms & still going "sweet" ... i wouldn't buy a car without giving it a thorough going over looking at every conceivable aspect including a compression test ... If you spend enough time in it & under it you quickly get a a good all round picture of how the car has been treated ... the odometer can only tell you how far it's gone but not how it was treated during its travels ... you need to look at everything else on & in the car to accurately appraise its "worthiness" to own ... ...
  16. ... gosh really ? ... well I still have it ... hope you could think of something nice to say !?!?! ... cheers malcolm ... ...
  17. hi nick hope ya well ... it was actually me who sent some pics off to matt & duncan of Clarecetown as a cruise destination ... so it looks like its in the pipeline I was just wondering if it's been locked in yet ... 18. ... if I had plenty of dosh id love an ORIGINAL Torana GTR XU1 or SLR500 just for the nostalgia ... my dad who is so not the the car man had a brand new early 70's LC Torana 2 door 2850cc straight six ... man that thing was a rocket !!! ... ...
  19. " QUOTE" "We're in the stickiest situation since Sticky the stick insect got stuck on a sticky bun." ... he needs to talk to my mate "Silky" the silkworm who could easily help him out of that sticky situation ... for nothing goes as silky smooth as "Silky the Silkworm in his silk pyjamas" ... ...
  20. ... damn !! & thought the no shoes & too small vinnies ripped track pants look was coming back in ?? ... ... ... my cars clean alright ... & I havnt spent big money on it for years ... I get around that by driving a 31 year old hilux ute i paid 1900 bucks for & don't have any kids ! ... ...

  22. ... hi duncan ... hope youre well mate looking forward to catching up ... yep spot on been around 'bout 8 years & counting ... yes I'm sure you're right I will need to reestablish my membership it's probably just recently relapsed ... do i contact treasurer michelle or is there bank details i can transfer to ? ... i can do that today no probs ... I'm really looking forward to a drive with other members - cant wait ! ... seems I'm always working on the weekends they're on but I'm determined to finally come on one ... im re rego'ing the car this week & was shocked to see that it had done driven less than 350klms in the last 12 months ... & 100 of that would have been driving to & from oil changes that i do twice a year ... as I sais it's time for a cruise ... catch ya soon ... cheers malcolm ... ...
  23. ... for most of us our cars are like a passionate hobby ... & it's important to have these things in life ... my car is like therapy for me ... I could sell it too & do something else with the money but I'd be a cranky miserable old f***er ... don't underestimate the healthy & positive side to having a passionate hobby ... anything that puts a genuine smile on your face is a good thing ... I suggest hanging onto it ... all money is the same & you can always earn & save more money ... but your car is as individual as you are ... logic tells me that a healthy activity that brings you happiness is as every bit important as cash in the bank ... & you sure can't take a "share portfolio" for a drive to the Blue Mountains with a hot chick for a picnic ... ...
