  1. Hello guys! This week’s car problem isssssssss the fuel gauge is reading incorrect fuel level (always at full or close to full) I have an RB25DET wired to a S13 hatchback fuel sending unit. I have double checked that the fuel gauge is grounded properly and connected correctly. So, next step was to check the fuel sending unit which I found is reading 0-2 ohm in both fuel and empty. So! That means it is reading the incorrect resistance. Is there a way I could fix this without buying a whole new sending unit, perhaps a resistor? Thank you all!
  2. I know it's not a skyline but I've owned a and built a few so I thought I'd put this here. At the rate I'm going I'll be lucky to finish this project in my lifetime, maybe this will keep me going.. Anyway unfortunately I don't have all fancy pictures like other threads, everything looks rough and dirty now because it is. I got some parts last week so that's why I thought I'd get on here and make some progress. Just a bunch of random stuff in no order. Gearbox (Z33) crossmember, just finished welding this, needs to be cleaned up and painted. 350z DBW pedal and VQ37VHR throttle bodies. As you can probably tell from the above picture I am going dual throttle, this came about because the stock inlet plenum won't fit under the bonnet/hood (for you Americans) and it looks ugly as hell. So I've decided to go for for something similar to the R35 GTR plenum. Here is the flange for the inlet manifold and exhaust flanges as well, I'll start working on the inlet soon. And here's the part that makes it TT, I'm sure a lot of people will be disappointed here by these small turbos (R33 GTR), but they're really just to use for test fitting and I will get some gtr upgrade turbos later. My next step is inlet/exhaust manifolds.
  3. Hey all, New to the car scene (be nice) and I'm interested in buying some wheels for my R33 S2. I'm looking at the following. The seller says it's 5 multi stud and came off his 180 sx. Aren't they 4 stud? Will this fit my Skyline? I'll copy and paste description below. Still no problem with spark blowout as I previously did with the old coils, and still plenty of power! Done 2 HARD track days with no problems at all. Even added extra timing. Now at 28deg at 8000rpm WOT! Over 320+kw now! I have now bought a second set of Yellow Jackets for a mates R32 GTR which had a constantly changing misfire, even after gapping the plugs to 7mm and replacing them. He wanted to upgrade the turbo's for higher boost, so I said he would have to change the coilpacks. He was dubious that this would fix ALL his problems, so the turbo's were fitted. No improvement of the misfire after installing the turbos, running them in and resetting the ECU. So I fitted the coils, gapped the plugs to 1.1, and reset the ECU. He didn't believe me that this was going to work, but low and behold, smooth idle, acceleration, and cruise! He couldn't believe the difference in the 'seat of your pants' feel in acceleration (stock boost). Going to do a dyno run soon to see what the difference at stock boost is compared to original figures. Then a re-tune and add a boost controller. Bang for buck, these Yellow Jackets cant be beat! Unfortunately, out doing a "road test" in the R33 GTR, with the street tires, and now with bucket loads of extra torque, managed to break second gear. Same sort of use/abuse with the old coils packs couldn't produce the same 4 wheel power slides, just under heavy acceleration! Luckily I had a spare gearbox, so I could make it to the track days.   7. 2x Nismo LH Engine Motor Mount 11220-RS540 (fits 180SX S13 S14 S15) I have two nismo engine mounts for sale - model 11220-RS540. They are both located in Adelaide, SA - but I'm happy to post at buyers expense. They have stickers on them incorrectly marking for an R34 GTT, but as per the nismo model number they're the front left engine mount on a Nissan 180SX PS13, RPS13, S14, S15. 30 to 40 Percent Stiffer Reduces Engine Vibration They're brand new in the box - never used. They regularly list brand new on eBay, etc for $150+. Please note, this is for the left-hand side only. Picture for reference (I can post pictures of the actual items/boxes if you'd like).

  9. Okay, so i have decided to sell my 180SX, most people like a reason for the sale, and that is that i just need the cash. $8000. It is as follows, not the cleanest one on the market but also not a modded piece of crap Drift Rig with a million dents and scratches. I will picture the bad areas of the car, and list the good aswell It is a 1993 Manual 180SX, running an SR20DET with an s14 T28 Turbo, strong gearbox never heard any sort of crunch at all. There may be a stage 2 clutch put through it i dont remember. I bought it defected and put it through regency first go, because i went through the whole car and did nearly everything i thought they would pick on Includes the Following All seals and gaskets in the motor, minus the head gasket as there was no need including turbo dump gasket, gearbox mount and all swaybar/boots/joint rubbers around the running gear, 4 wheel-wheel alignment about 200ks ago The motor when i bought the car had 55,000 ks on it after a rebuild, but i dont have the papers and that was at 138,000 ks on the car. The car now has 155,000 ks so you do the math on the ks on the motor. The body on the car isn't perfect but it isn't bad either, i can upload more daytime pictures if anyone needs them, and yes the car does come with a steering wheel. The carpet on the drivers side is worn with a bit of a hole but otherwise very clean. I have uploaded pictures of the car with 2 sets of rims, it can come with either set if you choose but the alloy finish ones need tyres, not wear from "burnouts" just wear on the inner side from camber, which was from the skyline in the background, if anyone is interested to, the skyline is for sale aswell, basic info: Non turbo 1995 R33 with 153,000 ks.   11. Thought I'd start a thread for the s-chassis folk. Digital hanging scales are are my favourite toy at the moment, trying to get as much weight as possible out of my 180sx and think I can get it close to 1100kgs with stock panels and glass windows with an RB25. Already know trying to corner balance the is going to be alot of fun and I'll do a more detailed write up soon.

I am putting my beloved 180sx up for sale. 1996 180sx Type-x, OEM white 115km The car was sourced and imported myself from Japan after searching for around 6 months. The car was brought in 100% stock, no rust no accidents, non smoking one owner and with genuine 75km on the clock. I have all the japanese paperwork and books. Currently the car has 115km and is still in amazing condition with a few simple modifications. Interior is in mint condition and exterior is still all original with a few blemishes expected of a car this age. I am the only Australian owner and the car is regularly maintained and not thrashed.   17. Hey guys, so I'm new to this forum. I'm looking to buy a 180sx, but not many options are arising. I'm willing to build it myself to an extent but I'm unsure. There is one car available, good condition, body is straight and engine is good, but it isn't registered and it's yellow stickered (ride height and a few other little things). The other options is a 180 with a built engine, but needs a big end rebuild. The body is straight (needs a good deal of paint work) and the interior is good too. So I'm stuck between the two. So which one would be easier to do? Registering and taking the yellow sticker off? Or buying the other car and buying an import sr20det and slapping all of the mods from the broken engine on?   21. Hi All, I decided to make a bit of a build thread for my 180sx. I sort of figured I'd tag it onto the end of my Stagea one, but nothing much gets done to the stagea these days, except carting a baby round and it seems a bit silly. So a dedicated build thread it is! This is primarily a track car. While still rego'd, it pretty much only gets driven to and from the track, and around the block occasionally. So, I'm going to copy some stuff out of my Stagea thread, cause I've got about a year and a half to catch up on. Well, I've been wanting something to have a bit of a crack at some motorsport in for a little while. Even though I had a ball in the stagea at the CAMS come and try day, it was clear to me that tracking this car regularly wasn't going to be possible. I was after something cheap, with plentiful parts, at I could tinker and work on in my spare time. Best of all, it meant if I broke it, I wouldn't be driving the Mrs around because we were down a car. So I started the hunt. I intially thought I wanted a HCR32, that suited the bill. I looked through lots of adverts and still didn't find something that was in my price range, with the condition and mods I wanted. It was then when a long time member of SAU NSW made a passing comment in a chat thread about selling a car. I was interested. The car was proven in motorsport events, had a lot of work done to it, and was at the top end of my price range. I went and drove it. It went like stink. Scared the shit out of me. There were a couple of little things I got the owner to fix up, but after agreeing to that, I put a deposit down. The deal was done. I drove it back home and garaged it. I have been working on it since, fixing up little niggles here and there. So here's the teaser.

  25. Hi Guys i am quite new to the car scene i recently just purchased a 180 shell which i overpaid for quite a lot for since i didn't really know anything about cars. Previously i owned a honda integra dc5 type S which was both my daily and weekender toy. I have currently purchased over 10 grand in second hand parts which have not even been installed yet. The shell has a fair bit of rust when i purchased the shell as did not check under it as i was suggested to buy this shell by my best mate who owns a black s2k . I'm planning on paying for a 3 grand respray which includes dent repair and rust repair. There is a hole caused by the rust underneath the chassis but i was told that a plate is going to be welded to it so it should be fine. So far i have spent 12k on the car and it is still not running right to the way i want as it is in need of an oxy sensor and afm. I am only a P plate driver so i want to keep the car P plate legal. I want the car to make at least 250kw at the rears and i am willing to pay for parts needed. I was told sr20de engines easily make 400kw. I was told of several places that can do this is Garage worx, Edge motorworks, Jak motorworks and Chasers Motorworks as these shops are considered nissan specialist and can dyno tune my car for 250kw. i don't really trust jak and chasers so i won't take my car to them. I would like your thoughts on Garage worx and edge motorworks.
