  2. Hi all. So, I'm currently in the process of finding the right R33 GT-R for me to buy. I'm familiar with the differences between v spec and normal spec cars (lower, higher spring rates, ALSD, different front rear torque split versus lateral G force map, takes vertical Gs into account according to some sources etc.), but was slightly worried by one recurring comment about the ALSD being weaker than the conventional LSD. Now I'm not entirely sure yet if I want to modify my car or keep it stock (looking to buy stock or close to stock either way probably), but this does worry me if I do decide to pursue mods. Is this assessment of the ALSD's strength correct? How much of a problem is it? Are we talking just more regular maintenance and parts or catastrophic failure if pushed past a certain point? Are there any guidelines as to limits of the ALSD? If it's fine I'd probably slightly preference getting a v spec car, if it's a problem I might avoid them. Thanks in advance for your help, and sorry for asking - I have tried searching both this forum and the Internet more broadly for a solid answer but couldn't find anything definitive.
  3. I hope someone can help with this. Location: Japan Car Info: I recently got new wheels went up to 18x9.5J+15 from 17x9.5J+20. Wrapped in Hankook Ventus V12 evo2's. I had to use spacers in the front to get the wheels to clear the Calipers as well as get extended Wheel Studs. wheels were balanced by a dealer Issue: When i got the wheels on I noticed i had a slight wobble in the steering wheel around 60KPH. So i went in and had the Tires balanced once again, which alleviated the the wobble at 60KPH but shows back up if i hit a hard bump or get up to +80KPH where its sometimes fine. But at 100KPH its a bad "wobble" in the steering wheel. I took the car to a local tire dealer and they said they could not duplicate the issue ( Which i think is BS) I've searched google and forums with no avail. Could this be a Alignment Issue? or suspension issue?? any insight would be much appreciated. Thank you
  4. Hello all I purchased my R33 GTR LM Limited around January 2013. The person I purchased it from didn't own the vehicle for very long, he stated the previous owner had it in storage for five years and that it had a genuine 65XXXkms. He had an auction sheet to confirm this and the interior and exterior condition reflected the kms on the odo. As he was able to swap my existing Subaru WRX Club Spec Evo IV as a part trade I decided on the purchase and my entry into GTR ownership began. I wanted an import that was somewhat rare and desirable and this fitted my criteria perfectly. It came with some decent mods (2860-5 turbos, Power FC, 400awhp) etc though the power bug still bit hard having owned powerful cars before the WRX (Evo 6 TME 2.4 Stroker 400awhp / JZX90 Cresta 1.5JZ 450rwhp) Then after conducting research on the power and type of build that I was after I re-aquainted myself with Jason from Greenline ordering a myriad of rebuild parts. First some pictures of how she looked when I first purchased the car.

  7. Hi all, Due to a setup change on my R33 GTR, I have for sale my excellent condition set of Genuine Tein Control Master Type Flex Coilovers, complete with the Tein EDFC (Electronic Damping Force Controller) These coilovers are top shelf quality and manufactured in Japan, not China, and are suitable for BCNR33 and will also fit BNR34 All 4 are in outstanding condition, and have seen very little use overall - My car came with this setup fitted and in as new condition, and has since covered around 3,000 km's only. Spring rates are 8kg (F) 7kg ® from memory, and provide a great range of adjustment to make them firm yet comfortable for everyday driving, while also being excellent on the track. The EDFC gives you the ability to quickly and easily adjust the damper settings on the fly, from inside the cabin. Technical Information from Tein: Per the Tein USA Official website, the Control Master Type Flex base kit will set you back around $3000USD, and that does not the EDFC, which will add another $400 or so. I am asking $980.00 firm for the whole kit - Note this is DIRT cheap, so please don't haggle or try low balling. Pickup available on the North Shore in Sydney, or alternatively you are welcome to organise your own courier to pick up. First in, best dressed! Cheers

  9. Hi all, I am in the process of clearing out a bunch of parts which I have purchased and never gotten around to installing, and first up is this Brand New Genuine HKS Kansai Monster Front Tower Brace. This has never been fitted - It was only removed from the plastic for photos. These are one of the toughest and most nicely finished strut bars available out of Japan, and are the ultimate way to finish off a tough engine bay. I am asking $499.00 firm for a quick sale, and pickup is available in North Sydney (These are $545.00 new from Just Jap - The Australian Kansai Dealer) Alternatively, postage can be arranged at the buyers cost. Go ahead, treat yourself! This is what it looks like when fitted: Cheers!

  11. Hi all, Unfortunately it has come time for me to clear out some of my top shelf parts stash which I have not yet gotten around to using. This means that I must part with my prized Tein Super Racing Circuit Master Type RS Coilovers for BNR34/BCNR33 As most of you know you cannot buy these anymore, and they are impossible to find in Japan, let alone any even remotely decent condition, and when they do come up for sale they fetch huge money much like the Nismo G-Attack R-Tune setups. I spent a fortune on these and as you can see from the photos they are not your typical clapped out set in desperate need of a rebuild, rather they are in absolutely outstanding condition, i dare say the best condition you could possibly ever find them, if at all. These are about the toughest and most top shelf coil overs you can buy for use on the track, and depending on your preferences are fine for street use and deliver a firm but comfortable ride in my opinion - There is always the option of replacing the springs with something more forgiving should you need to. The last set of these that was sold on this forum were asking over $3k. Due to my unfortunate need to clear office space and recoup some funds I am prepared to let these go for $1650.00 FIRM Pickup available in North Sydney, or alternatively you are welcome to arrange your own courier to pickup - They are packed away in protective bubble wrap and neatly boxed. First in best dressed - No low ballers. Cheers!
