  2. This is a story of how I became broke It all started with a text. " is this this what you've been looking for? One just got dropped of here at the scrap yard!" Meet "Pidge" my 92 240sx coupe junk yard save. The backstory on the car is apparently it was some kids project back in the early 2000 that they had lost interest in after blowing the stock ka24de (you'll see the window in the side of block later on ) and had just left it in their mothers backyard when they left and moved off to college. Well I guess the mother was cleaning her property to get it ready to sell and had dropped it off at the scrap yard a few towns over where I have a friend that works. So instead of letting the scrap yard buy and crush it, he paid her cash for the car so it wouldn't be scrapped and texted me knowing damn good and well he'd be able to make a buck or two off of me. The car its self wasnt in the worst condition it sat as high as most trucks out here in east texas and aside from the silvia front end conversion, and backyard straight pipe exhaust job the car was stock. Which for me was the perfect starting platform. That gave me the a fresh start. Minus the headlights no wiring was hacked up everything was there I could of very easily just pulled the blown ka put a fresh motor in and it would have been back on the road.well that and had a key made. The car had some minor body damage that was apparent upon inspection. The sun roof leaked and the trunks spoiler was almost broken off so the interior was going to need replacing and with the amount of humidity we get out here the under carriage was going to need inspection. Then it was on I towed the car back home and parked her out in my front yard for about 6 months while I tried to find the between two jobs and a family to get all of my parents belongings out of my garage and my garage clean enough to get the car up in the garage Then on December 23rd 2018 it got real the car was finally pushed up into the garage and tare down and a thorough Inspection began.

  5. Greetings, after a long absence, comes time to seek some advice from those more experienced than myself. Must say that I do peruse the site from time to time to keep informed. Anyway, my issue is this; For some time now, especially when travelling on a particularly smooth road surface, and more so at a slow speed, I have noticed a faint thump thump coming from the front part of the car On the rougher road surfaces it was not an issue. It is a great car, used on special occasions, had never done anything that I thought would flat spot a tyre. The car handled exceptionally well, and the issue never really bothered me. The front tyres on the car have done about 20k kms, are of Chinese origin, still have 2 or 3 mms left above the wear bars on them and have never given me doubt in their use. They are 225 40 18's, so a slightly lower profile than std. Looking at the tyres through the wheel arch, I have often thought how well they have served and never noticed any abnormality. I do the servicing of the car, am under it - on my back, every 5k kms and have never noticed anything wrong - this episode makes me wonder. About 20k kms ago, I replaced the lower control arm bushes with Superpro ones, all seems ok there still. Following that, the alignment data worksheet seems to indicate that the measured settings were close to those listed on the G35 Service Data sheet. So, that is the setting, now to the present. The car did the near 2k km return trip to the Bathurst 12hr last weekend. Wasn't the fastest on the road, but it did some spirited driving when conditions suited, like over Falls Creek. On the concrete section of the Hume, between Gundagai and Albury, the thump thump became more prominent. A slight tendency to veer to the left also developed. With the car home, thought it was now time for an investigation. Ha! still never doubted the tyres, took them off the car now up on blocks, and set them aside. Was overcast yesterday, a bit dark, getting late in the day, so I didn't bother getting too involved with looking for issues. Happened to move a tyre out of the way to do something else, that tyre being the worse of the two, and got a BIG shock. I have seen tyres in the past that wear off on edges, but just can't understand how the wear pattern on these tyres originated. The acute wear section is inclined to be more down the side a bit, and on the better tyre of the two, the wear is smooth as though it has been seared with a hot flat surface. Yet then, in some smaller sections the wear is not a smooth flat surface, but looks like it has been scolloped out with a tool like that to get icecream out. The other tyre - wow! I should hang that one up as a momento. There are known issues with these cars scrubbing out the inside of the fronts because of negative camber and there being no adjustment remedy. e.g. http://forums.redflagdeals.com/negative-camber-g35-559280/ That the car has 40's instead of 45's on it could also contribute. But accepting that, it seems to me that the tyres have been rubbing on something, yet there is no indication under the car that such has been happening. Rubbing on road surface?? I just can't get the angles to work
  6. Hey guys Am struggling to find a 2 door / coupe roof spoiler for my 34. All the ones i'm seeing seem to be for a 4 door. I'm assuming the rear glass is different for a four door, but wondering if these wings may fit anyway? Has anyone tried this or knows what fitment issues I may run in to?
  7. $19,000 ONO Selling my R34 GTT Series II Manual Coupe as I just don't drive it much anymore. NSW rego until late August 2019. Located in Dubbo 2830. Have owned the car for about 4.5 years, and it was imported by the previous owner in 2011. It currently has 142,000km. Timing belt was done at 80,000km when the car was imported. Car was completely stock until August 2017 when the turbo needed to be rebuilt. The stock turbo was rebuilt and high-flowed by HyperGear in Melbourne and it is their G2 build with a ball bearing core. I then added a HPI Turbine Outlet and dual outlet front pipe, and had a local exhaust workshop make up a 3in stainless system with a new high-flow cat converter. I have put in a stealth FMIC using a Frozen Boost intercooler and home fabricated piping kit, similar to this guide, with pipes beaded professionally: I have a spare GTT ECU, ready for Nistune to be installed. All the stock parts (exhaust, intercooler) are available if desired. Body is in good shape, with few minor dents and only thing that will need attention is the bootlid as the centre brake light area is starting to rust. Interior is very good except for the driver's seat which needs recovering on the corner as pictured. I'm not very interested in swaps, but could consider it for something from the 70s of similar value like a panelvan.

  14. So I have recently bought a 30det r32 skyline, but the problem I'm having Is that with the big air intake, the 500 hp fuel pump, the 1000cc injectors, the good ecu, along side the giant fkn garrett turbo that's rated upto 800bhp pushing at 18psi with a nistune set at a 7000rpm limit is only putting out 240kw. Sure it has a good tourqe curve with the 3L block with a 25de head but shouldn't bottom line bhp be more? I'll post some photos of work done on it and photos of engine but please tell me how I can get this to the 400 kw animal it should be
  15. Wanted new roof skin or rust and bog free roof cut prefer sunroof type
  16. Looking for a tow bar for my 1999 R34 Skyline GT Coupe (and before anyone says not to, it's my daily and I need to tow my track bike). I've been quoted a pretty high price to get one custom made, so I thought I'd ask around to see if anyone has an existing one fitted to their car that they no longer want to try and save a bit of money. If you have one available or know of any places that could potentially make and fit one for me, please let me know!

  19. 2008 370 GT Type S Coupe for sale I'm selling my '08 370GT Type S. After less than a year of ownership I need to sell my 370GT Type S in order to get finance for a new home. It's going cheap as a need to sell it ASAP. Currently asking $18,777. It has 105,000 kms and has a comprehensive history of work done. It's in good condition, the only issue is, sadly, the A/C stopped blowing cold air, another reason for the aggressive pricing. Tyres are good and a major service was done at 100k. It has the OEM sports grill installed and I still have the original grill. Fire away any question and let me know if you would like to see it.
  20. V35 Drag Racing Hi everyone, As we are all aware, there are plenty of videos out there of R series Skylines running the quarter mile, but not a lot about the humble V35 350 GT. For obvious reasons, they are not often considered for drag/track applications, especially against other boosted JDM imports. When the Perth Motorplex held a Nissan VS Honda theme night (not a fair match-up, I know...) in March 2017, where you could run your Honda or Nissan for $20, I thought "bugger it", and decided to give it a crack. Ill start with a bit about the car first- My Skyline is a 2003 coupe, with a 5 speed A/T gearbox. I have owned the car for 2.5 years and am the first Australian owner. It has the following mods- Tein coilovers, Godspeed front/rear sway bars, vented/slotted rotors, Injen CAI, Mace engineering 12mm plenum spacer and an Apexi 3" catback exhaust. I did a fair bit of research prior to running. According to "experts" on G35 Driver, they should be running around 14.7 dead stock. I was expecting 14.4 to 14.5 based on my mods, if these "experts" were correct. Boy was I surprised- my first run, with my brother riding shotgun and a full tank of fuel, netted a disappointing 15.050 @ 150.46kph, in full automatic mode (with power set to on). I also forgot to turn off VDC until my third run, which may have also cost a bit of time. For the next run, I booted my brother out of the car and saw an immediate improvement to 14.860 @ 152.67 kph. Still disappointing, but I knew I could definitely shave a bit of time by shifting manually as the car was shifting into 4th just before the finish line. I knew if I held it in third, I could squeeze a few extra kph out of it. I decided to let my brother have a run next as per the video below. We still lost, but we were constantly seeing improvement in each run. I believe he ran a 14.8, which was excellent considering I was in the car. He had an excellent launch too. Apologies in advance, as there is a bit of coarse language. My third run suffered from a boggy launch, and a limiter bash in second, so I only managed 14.975 @ 153.87 kph. I cant blame my brother for that one, as he wasn't in the car. My last run was the best of the night. My brother captured it on his camera, so I will link it in the comments once I have obtained it off him. My final run was 14.678 @ 156.03 kph. My car had finally achieved (and slightly bettered) what the "experts" said it should have done. I was very happy with that run, and decided to call it a night. I let my brother have another run, where he managed 14.7xx (again, I will link it in the comments once I have transferred it). By the end. I was fairly happy, especially when I learned that the two 350z's that were there only managed mid to low 15's. Is there room for improvement? For sure. Perth temps suck at that time of the year in the early evening. The temp was still in the mid to high 20's and it was humid as buggery. As many of you will agree, these conditions have a detrimental impact on performance on our cars. I also went down with a full tank of fuel- this would be the equivalent of carrying another passenger in the car. Considering I gained 2/100ths of a second by dropping a passenger, another run with low fuel and colder temps could see a considerable improvement. I may even possibly see the 14.4 or 14.5 I was chasing. When I uploaded my video to Youtube, I came across a few G35 and 350z quarter mile runs, and they were all running in the 15's. It just goes to show that you cannot always believe what you read on the internet, and that a "textbook" run is something that trained drivers achieve under ideal circumstances. I hope this info helps, as there was not a lot out there about what these cars can do.
