So basically I've had this r34 gtv skyline for a while Its a 2001 / Coupe / Manual / GTV / NA / Imported On the rear it has a red rear fog light where the drivers side reverse light should me on a r34 skyline The option to turn it on in next to the light switch on steering wheel Research seems to lead me nowhere Is this special or just standard?

  3. Die$eLs R33 GTSt build Posting this here now that I found the correct section. I'm Nishan from South Africa. I know this is an Australian forum but it seems you guys are in the know on the Skylines and it's extremely difficult to find anyone here in SA that knows them well. I've just got myself a 95 R33 GTSt. I've always wanted the GTR but after getting the GTS I'm satisfied. Just the sound of the RB25 puts a smile on my face. Current mods include: Milltek exhaust, button clutch, manual boost controller, coilovers and 18" Lenso wheels I have a LOOONG list of to-do items. All in good time though. - the clutch is weird. It sometimes does not come back all the way up. We stripped the master cylinder and tried to get new seals but could not so we reassembled it. Clutch does seem better now but not perfect. I've been promised a brand new clutch master and slave from a guy who is breaking his car. Waiting for him to find the parts as he is moving house. - small coolant leak from water pump - bought a new one but it's in cape town (over 1000kms away). Just need to get it shipped up to me. - machine polish the body as it has lost some of its lustre - Did a hand polish and there is a Huge difference. Will get it clayed and detailed once the pressing issues are sorted. - oil service - Done! - check and clean spark plugs - Done - check and clean brake system - Checked but did not clean yet. - replace rear tyres - Done - engine bay cleanup and tidy - Partly done. Still lots more to do - strip and clean entire air intake system including ISCV, MAF etc.- Started. I've cleaned part of the intake system and the MAF. I've never seen a MAF that dirty. Previously the fumes off the car made your eyes burn and there was a strong fuel smell. This is now sorted after I cleaned the MAF. It does however idle a little high. I assume its just the ecu that needs to re-learn. I also found a tiny fuel leak on the pipe just below the fuel filter. Tightened the clamp and that is resolved. - restore the headlights - They were polished along with the car and are Much better. Still need to do another polish on them though. The speedometer was not working. I found a plastic wire connector from the speed sender on the gearbox that broke and was undone. Zip tied it together and now it works but not perfect. The speedo gets stuck around 60kph and then when you are around 120kph it jumps and catches up. Sometimes it just dies and then comes back to life when it feels the need to do so. I also fiddled with the manual boost controller and got it boosting at 0.75bar (11psi). I believe this is still safe on the stock turbo. It however sometimes starts boosting more than that and I need to readjust it. - remove the super dark window tint and replace with a light grey/black - I started on this. All the side windows are now clean but the rear windscreen has the tint baked on because of the sun and it proving really difficult to remove. - coolant flush and replace (will do when i'm repairing the leak) - replace diff oil - replace gearbox oil - replace fuel filter - chassis clean - grease axle, U-Joints etc. - polish intake manifold - replace cam belt and all the bits that go with it. - there is some weird noise at times. Its difficult to explain.I thought it was the power steering but now I'm thinking it could be the releaser bearing (throw out bearing). It only does this when the car is cold. - the dash surrounds around the radio etc have been plastidipped and bits are worn. I will be pulling it off, cleaning it up and recoating it.

  5. Hey guys! So I am currently working on my new project which is an auto r33 gts with a yucky rb20e inside of it. I was looking at a couple of options to do an engine swap. I have a choice to go with an rb25de or an rb20de (as am currently still on p plates in QLD) If i am to go with the rb20de option i would like to look at going turbo in the near future as it will still remain p plate legal. I would like to know what is required to swap for both engines and would like to know your personal thoughts on what I should do. all help is much appreciated thank you!!!
  6. Okay so I have a r33 NA rb25de motor/ gearbox that I’ll be putting in a turbo r33 shell and was just wondering if I can use the same loom or will I have to change it to the NA one ?
  7. Hi SAU, As title says, looking for a p-platers skyline for my brother. Will be used as a daily, so a reliable example would be most desirable. - must be manual, coupe, and n/a (GTS or 25GT) - maximum budget of $7500 - must be healthy mechanically for age (no leaks in engine, no gear crunching, etc) - not to fussed on interior/exterior condition (a bit of color fade not an issue) - r32 and r34 would be top preference, but r33 which meets requirement will also be considered (already have an r33) - any color - registrable in VIC - prefer it come with RWC, or at least in a condition where RWC would be easily obtainable - VIC located cars only please Contact me through this forum or PM me.   8. Hey, sorry if this has been covered but I couldn't find it if it was. I need some help identifying the rear calipers on my R32 GTS (NA). It has the 4 lug hub and single piston real calipers. Does anyone have the part number of the caliper as well as those for the associated parts? My problem is that the lower slide bolt on the left hand side won't move freely, no matter how much I clean and grease it. It seems like the pin sits in a rubber sleeve that goes all the way through, is that right? If so I think I need to replace that sleeve as the pin looks to be in good shape. Does anyone know the associated part numbers or can otherwise identify the caliper assembly? I've attached a few pictures, thanks in advance!
  9. hey guys So i just bought my first car and its a 1995 r33 gts coupe with an RB20e engine in it. The car is completely stock and has no modifications done to it. I would love to make the exhaust sound much louder than what it currently does and I would like to know what else i could do to it. Im very new to skylines and have no idea what parts to get to make the exhaust sound better so any help would be very much appreciated. Cheers.
  10. After doing a 5 stud conversion + brake upgrade (r33 gtst brakes) onto my r33 gts I cant get my brake pedal to feel firm. The car used to have ABS but everything has been removed including the sensors on the calipers. I have compared my brake setup to another non abs r33 and its exactly the same so theres no reason it shouldn't work. Ive already had a mechanic look at it, tried to bleed it, but still no improvement on the brakes. Besides that I have also tried to bleed the brakes and master cylinder using the brake pedal and a hand pump vacuum bleeder. With the car not running, the first 20% of the brake pedal has play, and the last 80% of the brake pedal feeling solid as. With the car running, is literally the opposite, 80% of the brake pedal is useless and the last 20% is when the brakes stop the car although i haven't tested it at speed higher than 30km/h. Theres no leaks, every connection is tight, fresh brake fluid etc. The brake booster is also from a turbo r33 to match the turbo gtst brakes. Could the master cylinder be broken? is there a way to test if it is? the brake booster and master cylinder both worked before installing them. I read on a forum from someone who did the same brake upgrade, same car, and had to upgrade to brake booster and master cylinder cause the brake pedal always felt soft/spongy. But there was no information on the upgrades he made? Any help would be appreciated!

  13. New to the #nissangang from Washington! Couple ?'s Hello all, the names Mike! im taking the plunge and having a fresh, 46xxx mile '92 gts25 sedan brought over seas for me. Theres a few things id like to have clarified as I've done a fair bit of searching and either find vague answers, deleted posts, or opposing answers. First off, the rb25 and re5r that is coming in my car, same engine trans as the r33 or an earlier rendition of the two? is it possible to do a simple r33 lsd swap into the 32 assuming the trans is the same? I've also come across a couple threads of some seriously modified auto's to handle massive power. Will a stock trans with an upgraded converter hold on to 300 or so whp? What does everyone do about tuning when having an auto? I assume in these the ecu/TCU are one unit? Guessing that kills the possibility of using a haltech or some standalone? last Q! Yes or no, the gtr front bumper fits right up? I've seen both yes and no answers. Some say you need the fenders others say it fits right on the gts.

  15. R33 gts-4 brake upgrade Just after some advice to whether there is a way to upgrade the brakes in my R33 gts-4 without doing a 5 stud conversion, It Doesn't need to be anything spectacular just a good upgrade for alittle track use. Any ideas?

  17. 4 STUD R32 GTS brake questions I've been reading thru the forum trying to get information on replacing brake components for my 4-Stud R32 sedan GTS. Before anyone suggests, I am staying 4 lug and do not wish to go 5-stud! From what I've gathered so far, I can use S13/240sx Rotors and pads for the front no problem, My issue is trying to find REAR rotors and pads. Because they are in-drum, I'm not sure what I can use/ cross reference to here in USA. Iv'e found that I will use non-turbo 300zx e-brake shoes but trying to replace rotors and pads as well. Any Info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

Its difficult to explain. I'm assuming its the power steering pump/system. Will flush and replace the fluid. Any suggestions on how to to this and what fluid to use? Other than that my to-do list includes: - machine polish the body as it has lost some of its lustre - oil service - coolant flush and replace (will do when i'm repairing the leak) - replace diff oil - replace gearbox oil - replace fuel filter - remove the super dark window tint and replace with a light grey/black - check and clean spark plugs - check and clean brake system - chassis clean - grease axle, U-Joints etc. - engine bay cleanup and tidy - polish intake manifold - strip and clean entire air intake system including ISCV, MAF etc. - restore the headlights - replace rear tyres - replace cam belt and all the bits that go with it. What I"ve done to date: - the car is currently at the mac to refurb the clutch master cylinder. He is having issues getting the correct size plungers etc. Its really difficult sourcing parts for this car in SA - fitted a battery isolator as I won't be driving the car daily and want to save the battery - did a quick engine wash. I only had about a 1/4 bottle of engine degreaser. will do a proper wash when the car is back I'm a big fan of preventative maintenance. Is there anything else that I should be giving attention to?

  21. 1996 R33 GTS (non-turbo) Auto (small damage) Hi all, Up for sale is my 1996 Nissan Skyline R33 GTS Series 2 (non-turbo P-Plate legal). Unfortunately the car has some damage to the rear left and wheel has been replaced with stock for the time being, along with front fog light cover damage & badges were stolen. Car is being sold whole and as is and will not be parted out, please refer to pictures attached for the car's condition. Local Pickup only. RWC was completed and passed 4 months ago, with new battery and new brake pads fitted (prior to damage).   23. Unfortunately I need to sell my car. A lot of time and money has gone into getting it the way I wanted but I need to clear some space. It is a 1994 Nissan Skyline R33 GTS non turbo Manual JDM import. Perfect P plater car. Odo says around 128***kms but it was converted to manual so the cluster has been changed. Previous owner kept it well serviced and the timing belt hasn't been changed, which leads me to believe the kms are closer to 100k ish. It has: 18x7.5 wheels with decent tread. Lowered on King springs. Added gtst rear sway bar (never had one from factory and really improves rear stiffness) Roof wing/lip. Replica GTR spoiler. Nismo clear indicators. M-spec front bumper with skirts and pods. Custom "Nismo" front lip. Just Jap weather shields. Hella Supertone horns. Short shift kit. Alarm and immobiliser. Nismo shift knob. Good condition R32 GTR front seats. No tears which is hard to find. Nismo front floor mats. Good condition series 1 steering wheel. Pod filter enclosure with 50% finished cold air intake (will need to add some piping) Front and rear strut braces. X-force dual tip muffler, sounds really good. Sound system that includes a Kenwood head unit, kicker fronts with tweeters, pioneer 6x9's at the back and a custom made fiberglass sub box that fits into the side of the boot. All running from two amps. Sounds great. Also has reverse camera and screen. Replaced front and rear rotors recently. Fronts are slotted with plenty of pad left. Spares it will come with: Have some rotors but I don't know what car their for. Do what you like with them. Original front floor mats. S14 front calipers (project I never got around to) Stock springs. Another stock steering wheel, pretty beat up. Was planning on doing the timing belt change myself so it'll come with a gates timing belt kit with water pump. Cost a few hundred alone. THE BAD: paint is fading on the roof, was going to wrap it black but I don't have the time. Some other dings etc as expected for its age. The gearbox makes noises...I've been told that it's either the thrust or throw out bearing. Still runs fine and smoothly Again, timing belt needs to be changed. Air conditioning needs to be regassed. Always been regularly serviced by me and my brother (oil, spark plugs etc) hasn't really been driven too much or even too hard as I've been on my L's.   24. R32 GTS Rb25de stock air cleaner setup Hi all, I have a R32 GTS Rb25de that needs to go through a NSW EPA inspection. The issue was excessive noise, which has been corrected with a new muffler. But I also need to refit all the stock emission control stuff. I've done everything except removing the pod filter and reinstalling the original air cleaner. This was already off the car when I bought it. I got a box of bits with the car but I'm not sure everything is there. My question is can anyone supply a photo or diagram of how the stock air cleaner, ducting and hoses that go to and from it should look. Thank in advance.
  25. Looking for a P plate legal R32. More specifically something that has minimal modifications, would prefer the body kept stock and in good condition (pls). Manual is a must.
