  1. Hi all, New to the forum/site, just recently purchased my first skyline. 1989 R32 GTR love the car a lot already! Don't know to much when it comes to these cars i can do the basic's here and there but nothing to full on, hoping that you guys will be able to help me with any problem i may come across with the legendary RB26DETT. If anyone knows a good spray painter in Perth that they could refer me to i would really appreciate it. Brief list of mods that came with the car when it was purchased: Engine: Apex'i Air Filters Silicon Hoses Exedy Single Plate Heavy Duty clutch Superspark ignition coils 3" Kermit engineering Stainless Custom made catback and cannon 3" Front pipes High flow cat Nismo sway bars (front and rear) Nismo strut braces (front and rear) Suspension: Tein Flex Coilover Whiteline Bushing Exterior: Desmond Regamaster Marquis Promada Super Forged 17x9.5 +18 V-Spec Body kit
  2. Hi guys I've had my skyline close to 3 months now and so far i'm enjoying it. It's my second car and only turbo i've owned. 130k kms on the clock but who knows if this is true everything stock apart from turbo back exhaust and apexi coilovers. Looking to do a few performance mods over the months. Hoping to join the NSW crew soon
  3. Hey Guys, Been a member here for a year or so - when I was hunting around some information on R32's, SAU was the obvious choice to expand my knowledge. I am coming to this automotive realm from the happy, innocent and quite often sheltered life of Honda's. One of those things you don't realise how 'retarded' your car views have become until you step away. I will say however owning Honda's has made me appreciate even the slightest increase in power, and at the same time I've become fastidious with cleaning, maintaining and adoring even the most basic of cars. So to bring this thread to the present, I have decided to take a plunge out of the unknown and begin my love and adoration for GTR's, in particular the R32. I have always planned on owning one, but to be honest I thought at the age of 24, this would still be a couple years off. Thankfully, Ive returned from O/S with some experiences and cash still in the back pocket. In particular, I am looking for a very clean, mostly original, and tight R32 GTR V-Spec. Something a little special that I can hold onto and cheerish till my children can then appreciate a fine 'group a' inspired production car. Please let me know if you are aware of any vehicle that meets this very broad description, very keen to start my journey. Thanks for having a read Ben Here is just a little picture of my daily, which I sold before leaving for Canada last year
  4. Dear ladies and gents, I have my heart set on purchasing a Skyline, and have decided that it will be either an R33 gts-t or an R34 gt-t. I understand buying an old turbo import isn't a sound financial move, so i'd like to rationalise the decision. (This will be a daily driver) I've heard mention of the 'market', where sometimes the cars are easier to sell at higher prices than at other times. Where do you (the experienced experts) feel that the market is? Ideally I want to buy a car in decent condition, drive it and love it for perhaps a year, and then sell it without having significantly reduced the value of the vehicle (let's exclude fuel, scheduled maintenance and government costs). Am i being completely naive to think that i can get most of my money back? If the answer is "that's plausible", then what vehicle would you suggest I look for? I.e. will a lightly modded R34 Gt-t hold it's value best if purchased currently for $14k? Or should I go for the best deal i can find for a R33 ($8K) and see if i can sell that? It seems the R33 market is relatively saturated, meaning it's easy to find a nice vehicle, but is then harder to sell later on. For those that say 'it's your own personal preference', I want to point out that I am not particularly skillful as a mechanic (but i'm alright at research!) and have never before pushed a car to it's limits, specifically at corners. I am very eager to learn and try things out. This is one of the main reasons for getting into the skyline - take a few advanced driving courses, see what levels my skills are actually at. For this reason, I am not interested in buying a highly modified, powerful vehicle - stage 1 modding is more than enough for me (for now i guess haha, judging how hard the modding bug bites) It seems that an R34 will be the best for me, with little 'creature comforts' such as traction control and advanced safety features (being a newer car). However, they seem to fairly rare (I'm west of Sydney, NSW) and command quite a price premium over R33s of similar condition - R34s are currently listed around $14,000, whereas the better R33s are closer to $10,000. I'd love to pay less, of course, but would you say that extra few thousand dollars is worth it for an enthusiastic new-comer? Should I shell out the capital (i wont need finance) on the newer R34, or will I have the same experience with the R33 with less financial risk? As i said, I will be more than happy emotionally with either car, and can refine my tastes for specs and performance and upgrade later on. Thank you for taking the time to read all this crap that I've just written, and I can't wait to be a part of this legendary club. Mick
  5. Hello, Most people call me Waz and I'm what you call a newbie to this forum. I live in Jindabyne, I'm a mechanic and fitter & turner by trade and I bought my dream car 6 months ago - R34 GTR which is not very standard - 305Kw atw and just shy of 600Nm, suspension, brakes, semis etc etc. I also have a cressida with a 1JZ that does 12's. I have worked on and modified cars all my life as my Dad used to have an engine building business (now retired but I have most equipment). I took my car, for the first time, to speed off the streets at Wakefield last Tuesday and lapped consistent 1.11's and some 1.10's once I got to know the track a bit more - too fun and can't wait for more!! Ciao
  6. Evening children! New to this whole forum thing so ill try keep this short, my names Steven Edwards i'm from Morayfield Queensland and i currently drive a gunmetal grey r33 Gts25t Skyline running a 4 inch thick front mount intercooler, 3 inch stainless steel turbo back exhaust to a 4 1/2 inch Xforce cannon and 14 psi of boost so fairly stock. Currently work in a engineering shop as a salesman so bearing, nuts, bolts, belts and general industrial supplies hit me up and i should be able to help! Anywho look forward to speaking to you all! here is some pictures of how my car currently sits.
  7. Hi all, I've just recently bought a Series 1 WGNC34 1996 Stagea which is registered and running well, but needs some love to get back in good shape (shocks, springs, aircon, audio improvements, paint is peeling and there are dents/scratched but I don't really care as much for aesthetics as I do mechanics). And I've just recently sold a 1991 redtop sr20 180SX. I guess the reason I never joined when I bought that car 5 years ago was that I didn't have much interest in getting more power out of it. Realistically I should have worked with it more, but I just kind of had different priorities then I guess. I had an AE86 before that which was hands down the easiest car to work on and a lot of fun even on a low budget. Anyway, the plan for the Stagea is to take it from Sydney to the snow a lot during winter! Love snowboarding. And to use it as a functional daily, which is certainly more practical than a 180. Who knows, maybe one day it'll be a tow car for something I wanna smash around the track (if I get a proper garage and funds for a project) but I have no plans to work more power out of the stagea (yet). I've lurked these forums before, and it seems like a fairly active user base and a friendly bunch overall Happy to be a part of it. Thanks for reading! Nye
  8. Hi Guys My name is Lachlan, Im 20 and have owned my R32 GTST for around 6 months now. Its fairly stock apart from the GTR kit which is just what I wanted as a starting point, and I'm already learning a lot through working on it myself and trial and error. I've been a long time lurker on the SAU forums so I thought its about time I start contributing. Will start a build thread for her soon, here's how she rolls at the moment. Cheers!
  9. Hey All , my name is John and I'm 30 in a month , ive owned a few turbo cars through my ealier days including a Evo3 mock up 1.8ltr turbo GSR and an xr6T ute. I grew up loving cars thanks Dad haha and since watching the second fast and furious i have wanted a skyline ... So here I am 12 years later and finally take the plunge to get a skyline, I have just purchased an R33 GTST from a forum member and I'm looking forward to getting amoungst the SAU family. As i said I am completely fresh in terms of skylines and I'm sure I'll be asking plenty of questions, so if they come across stupid please cut me some slack haha. What are the best recommendations for a newbie in terms of must dos?
  10. James - V36 Owner (WA) Hi folks, About time I introduced myself after sapping up so much information from this fine site for so long! I got myself an 08 CKV36 Type SP, 6spd in February (I think) of this year. It has been a faithful daily for it's life and I've dumped 18,000kms on it since I've owned it. It's fully bolted, tuned and sits around 265kW at the flywheel. It's on Cusco springs and shocks, has shitty modded headlights that are a pain in the arse, an IPL front lip, and is sitting on 19" Rays VR-G2s (245 at the front, 275 at the back). It also has a nice carbon fibre rear diffuser! I am looking to get new headlights sorted by OneightyNYC very soon, as well as a brake upgrade and front sway bar, and when "funds" (girlfriend) permit this is getting supercharged. Also, as is the case with 99% of the people with V36's, have my navi looked at! I have a couple of photos attached below, and if anyone has any opinion or thoughts let them flow! I'm always open to new ideas, especially in the wonderful world of automotive. James.
  11. Hi everyone new M35 owner Hi everyone, My name is Bec and I have just brought my first 2002 Nissan Stagia M35 I live in Adelaide and I am in love with my car lol
  12. Help with buying a V35 Hey Guys! So like many i am new to these cars. I have read many of threads on the forums to inform me of the V35 Skylines. I have currently found a 2003 V35 with 83,000kms for $10,000. The car unfortunately has no paperwork. It has a service history of the last 20,000kms the owner has owned the car. Would you guys recommend looking at the car or ruling it out completely due to having no books or service history.
  13. New user from the UK Hi my name is Chris from Yorkshire In the UK. I drive a 1995 Rb25det GTST. I'm currently in the process of fitting a hybrid turbo and link ecu. I have questions but for now I'll just say hi
  14. Hello! Hi, my name is Ellie 24 BNE Officially new to the forum, although I have browsed this site a few times for info Newbie GTR owner but have had a few gtst's in the past. Aspiring to become a half decent drifter although I haven't had anywhere near enough seat time. Currently completing my first serious build with the gtr which I'm incredibly excited about and lucky to have some experinced help with the 26. I spanner on my gtst but not the gtr. Hoping to meet some female enthusiast's, learn and show off my cars here. Iv'e got a weak spot for 33's as you can see, maybe cause they resemble more of a muscle car type which is where my car passion originated as a child. 33 GTR 33 GTST S2 black (new drift shell) 33 GTST S2 white (ex drift shell) 33 40th Anniversary GTST mnp (just sold to build 26 )
  15. Good Day, Australia My Name is WHOP, which stands for White, Haired, Old, Person, and I live in England. By Thursday(4th October 2016) noon GMT I will be the proud owner of a 2003 Nissan Stagea AR-X, which I believe you call an M35? Now, as a retired older person (with a mid life that's running a little late) I know I loved the car the minute I saw it. So by spending the Tax Man's inheritance (No KIDS or Wife) only dependences, one wheelchair for 32 years and a carer for 26 years. I have had my hand controls and a wheelchair hoist in the boot fitted so I'm ready to go. The only problems are I know nothing about mechanics or car maintenance. So I will be asking a lot of silly questions about lots of things.... You have been warned.
  16. Newbie from across the pond Hi all, I'm Nishan from South Africa. I know this is an Australian forum but it seems you guys are in the know on the Skylines and it's extremely difficult to find anyone here in SA that knows them well. I've just got myself a 95 R33 GTS. I've always wanted the GTR but after getting the GTS I'm satisfied. Just the sound of the RB25 puts a smile on my face. Current mods include: Milltek exhaust, button clutch, manual boost controller (i think its referred to as a bleed valve?) coilovers and 18" mags The car seems healthy other than: - clutch master cylinder needs to be refurbed - small coolant leak. I have yet to locate this and resolve. - there is some weird noise at times. Its difficult to explain. I'm assuming its the power steering pump/system. Will flush and replace the fluid. Any suggestions on how to to this and what fluid to use? Other than that my to-do list includes: - machine polish the body as it has lost some of its lustre - oil service - coolant flush and replace (will do when i'm repairing the leak) - replace diff oil - replace gearbox oil - replace fuel filter - remove the super dark window tint and replace with a light grey/black - check and clean spark plugs - check and clean brake system - chassis clean - grease axle, U-Joints etc. - engine bay cleanup and tidy - polish intake manifold - strip and clean entire air intake system including ISCV, MAF etc. I'm a big fan of preventative maintenance. Is there anything else that I should be giving attention to?
  17. MissGTR34 intro Hey just doing my intro, Erin from melbourne GTR34 white XEY483 So hey, ive only had my gtr for 9months still loving every second of it. Looking forward to reading some handy info and help when i need it CHEERS! -Erin
  18. Newbie alert Hi all, newbie in your presence (to this site that is) Location: Perth, WA Check out my first post, any help would be much appreciated! Cheers guys
  19. Hey, my name's Shaun as you could probably guess. I've come across this site many times over the years whenever I've been googling GTR stuff and I finally bit the bullet and bought one the other day, an 89 R32 GTR in gunmetal grey. The car I've dreamed of since I was a boy. I already know what a great resource this site is from my years of stalking, I look forward to being a more active user of it in the future. Cheers. P.S. Don't s'pose anyone's got a stock exhaust for one they're keen to get rid of do they?
  20. R34 First time owner WA Hey Guys! Marc here from WA. I am really excited to be collecting my 1998 r34 gtt tmr and I'm so glad there are really helpful people with a fountain of knowledge here on this forum. The r34 that i'm purchasing is actually stock with factory nismo, but with nothing done to it. However, i was wondering if there was anything really essential to change/modify to the car's engine whatsoever or is it alright to run just stock? I'm not gonna race or track it but maybe just the occasional runs, so i don't need it too hardcore (for now haha). If there are any r34 owners in perth do hit me up too, i've just been here for 4 months (from Singapore previously), would love to make some new friends! Thanks, Marc
  21. Soon To Be Proud R33 Owner Hi all, my name is Erin. Currently living south of Perth I am looking to buy my first skyline in the near future and do some mods and get right into working on cars. My dream JDM has always been the R33 Skyline so I'm keen to get straight into it as soon as possible and bring my baby to life - starting with the basics and building my skills and expereince before moving onto more complicated mods and builds! I'm posting here in search of any basic beginner mods to start with and even just pics of your mods and skylines so you can all show off your pride-and-joys!! I look forward to seeing all the beauties you guys have - Thanks in Advance!!
  22. Greetings from Tbilisi, Georgia Hello everyone, my name is Tornike, I'm from Tbilisi, Georgia and I drive 1996 R33 gts25t 4 door. It is my first and only car(for now), it's daily driven and is basically in factory condition, except Nismo 3 inch catback exhaust, HKS hi flow intake and HKS grounding kit.
  23. Hey Sau! I'm Tom and have a fairly stock R32 Gts-t that I've owned for a year and a half now. Mods are basic reliability and cleaning up the car/ making it legal mods but now I'm starting to move into power and handling. Will start a build thread soon so stay tuned!
  24. Purchasing an R-33 G' Day all members of SAU Community. I'm looking at purchasing a Nissan Skyline R-33 GTR, I'm only 18 however I live in the ACT and the laws permit young drivers to own the responsibility of high power / Turbo cars. Skylines have been a long dream of mine, originally the aggressive R-34 was my dream but, the R-33's overall seem much more capable than the R-34 and the difference in weight catches my eye quite a bit. insurance will be a lot on my hands and I don't want to purchase it in my dads name to avoid the excess cost, but rather see that cost as a contributing factor to really respecting and loving the vehicle. It would be my first car, I've got a mate who owns an R-33. He introduced me to this website a while back. Any information on an R-33 would be greatly appreciated, price range from 15,000 - 25,000 I really don't want to hit the 30,000 mark but if its a damn mint car I'll probably put in everything I've got to pay it off. especially if under 100,000 Kilometers (they're dead by 190,000 right? seen a few for sale at 240,000ks, they wanted $4,500. Hahah things defiantly a rebuild project. personally I'm looking for an R-33 with close to 90,000ks) Still in year 12 I finish off in June. not particularly enjoying school although, I plan to use every hour of my time provided I'm not exhausted to work during the day in a few jobs as well as becoming a security guard working long nights at civic. Currently in Canberra, that plus I want to move out but, everything I'm earning I want to put into the car before any other plans. I want to fit a full leather interior to the 33 as well as putting decent cash into a gorgeous sound system. I recon after a few years I'll sync close to $50,000 into it. I can understand anybody's perspective of a kid wanting a skyline, "oh hears some hot headed lead footed gear knob whose going to get himself killed" but in all honesty these cars have been such a dream and respecting the vehicle is so important to me. Not just a kid with dreams, but a bloke with achievable goals. If you can help me find some info on R-33's you've no idea how much I'd appreciate it. Cheers Jerry
