  1. whaaaaattsssss up guys!!!!!!! so my r34 4door is part of a friends movie project for their studies. ive bought some gauges to put onto the car for shoots but am lost at the moment. i bought an exhaust temp and water temp gauges to hook up just cause they look nice haha. now its only going to be a temporary thing and they dont actually need to read anything, just illuminate if that makes sense. then ill take em out. but im wondering whats the best way to go about that??
  2. Howz it... Hello all! Signing in from Texas, USA... love skyline! first cars that took my eye at an early age was the Datsun z series and as I got a little older found my love to the z32 and then the skylines from new to old. I like the 90s but the 70s and 80s really have an odd impact on how I envision my cpv35det could and should've been optioned. well maybe not then it wouldn't be as fun for me and this long road. I've had this car since 2005. I currently drive a 2003 g35 coupe 6mt, but I have gathered as much JDM items between interior, exterior, electronics I've gotten myself to a point I'm needing harnesses to make certain components to function, or making it work lol. That is actually the reason I am even here on the forum, i'm looking for instructions for the JDM Buttons on the navi. I'm not the pretty car that out shines the rest, i'm the car in the corner or off to the side you secretly keep you eye on to see what it does. so Hi all... I'm here for knowledge, questions and hopefully can contribute to some degree or another. I would load some photos but I am on a laptop I rarely use as my phone is dead at he moment. -Axel
  3. HI guys. Just joined the forum because I'm planning to buy a skyline 300gt sedan, and I found very useful information on this forum, BTW im all the way from Sri Lanka. Cheers
  4. To everyone on SAU, I'll start off by immediately saying that I do not own a Skyline of any description. BUT- I've heard many good things about them and much high praise for all generations. I am a car enthusiast, I love all things RB and all things JDM. I'm looking to buy a facelift R32 GT-R soon (NOT R33 or R34!), so I thought I'd speak to the people who know the car the best and know all of its quirks and common problems, so I know to make the decision to buy or not, completely dependent on what I hear over my time on the forum. Cheers! A.
  5. R34 First time owner WA Hey Guys! Marc here from WA. I am really excited to be collecting my 1998 r34 gtt tmr and I'm so glad there are really helpful people with a fountain of knowledge here on this forum. The r34 that i'm purchasing is actually stock with factory nismo, but with nothing done to it. However, i was wondering if there was anything really essential to change/modify to the car's engine whatsoever or is it alright to run just stock? I'm not gonna race or track it but maybe just the occasional runs, so i don't need it too hardcore (for now haha). If there are any r34 owners in perth do hit me up too, i've just been here for 4 months (from Singapore previously), would love to make some new friends! Thanks, Marc
  6. Help with buying a V35 Hey Guys! So like many i am new to these cars. I have read many of threads on the forums to inform me of the V35 Skylines. I have currently found a 2003 V35 with 83,000kms for $10,000. The car unfortunately has no paperwork. It has a service history of the last 20,000kms the owner has owned the car. Would you guys recommend looking at the car or ruling it out completely due to having no books or service history.
  7. Buying a r33 gtst Hi all, So recently I drove my mates r33 (first rear wheel car I've ever driven) and that was enough to make me buy one. I've got about a 25k budget and I want to space out the mods for the car so I don't kill myself. Just want answer pls What mods should I start with What is the most psi I can run any suggested mechanics (North Perth) And anymore things for a newbie to know. Thanks
  8. Buying a GTR, and I need your help! Hey guys, I've been looking for a clean BNR32/BCNR33 for a while now. I've mostly looked on carsales and it left me with a few questions, hopefully you guys would know the answers, The price range of the cars? How much do they go for these days? Didn't make sense to me how a V-Spec33 would be cheaper than a normal BCNR on carsales... Importing? Costs vs benefits? What should I look out for when buying a GTR? Never bought a car this age before. For the long time owners, reliability issues? Thanks in advance, I'm looking forward to your replies.
  9. Dear ladies and gents, I have my heart set on purchasing a Skyline, and have decided that it will be either an R33 gts-t or an R34 gt-t. I understand buying an old turbo import isn't a sound financial move, so i'd like to rationalise the decision. (This will be a daily driver) I've heard mention of the 'market', where sometimes the cars are easier to sell at higher prices than at other times. Where do you (the experienced experts) feel that the market is? Ideally I want to buy a car in decent condition, drive it and love it for perhaps a year, and then sell it without having significantly reduced the value of the vehicle (let's exclude fuel, scheduled maintenance and government costs). Am i being completely naive to think that i can get most of my money back? If the answer is "that's plausible", then what vehicle would you suggest I look for? I.e. will a lightly modded R34 Gt-t hold it's value best if purchased currently for $14k? Or should I go for the best deal i can find for a R33 ($8K) and see if i can sell that? It seems the R33 market is relatively saturated, meaning it's easy to find a nice vehicle, but is then harder to sell later on. For those that say 'it's your own personal preference', I want to point out that I am not particularly skillful as a mechanic (but i'm alright at research!) and have never before pushed a car to it's limits, specifically at corners. I am very eager to learn and try things out. This is one of the main reasons for getting into the skyline - take a few advanced driving courses, see what levels my skills are actually at. For this reason, I am not interested in buying a highly modified, powerful vehicle - stage 1 modding is more than enough for me (for now i guess haha, judging how hard the modding bug bites) It seems that an R34 will be the best for me, with little 'creature comforts' such as traction control and advanced safety features (being a newer car). However, they seem to fairly rare (I'm west of Sydney, NSW) and command quite a price premium over R33s of similar condition - R34s are currently listed around $14,000, whereas the better R33s are closer to $10,000. I'd love to pay less, of course, but would you say that extra few thousand dollars is worth it for an enthusiastic new-comer? Should I shell out the capital (i wont need finance) on the newer R34, or will I have the same experience with the R33 with less financial risk? As i said, I will be more than happy emotionally with either car, and can refine my tastes for specs and performance and upgrade later on. Thank you for taking the time to read all this crap that I've just written, and I can't wait to be a part of this legendary club. Mick
  10. Hi all, New to the forum/site, just recently purchased my first skyline. 1989 R32 GTR love the car a lot already! Don't know to much when it comes to these cars i can do the basic's here and there but nothing to full on, hoping that you guys will be able to help me with any problem i may come across with the legendary RB26DETT. If anyone knows a good spray painter in Perth that they could refer me to i would really appreciate it. Brief list of mods that came with the car when it was purchased: Engine: Apex'i Air Filters Silicon Hoses Exedy Single Plate Heavy Duty clutch Superspark ignition coils 3" Kermit engineering Stainless Custom made catback and cannon 3" Front pipes High flow cat Nismo sway bars (front and rear) Nismo strut braces (front and rear) Suspension: Tein Flex Coilover Whiteline Bushing Exterior: Desmond Regamaster Marquis Promada Super Forged 17x9.5 +18 V-Spec Body kit
  11. Purchasing an R-33 G' Day all members of SAU Community. I'm looking at purchasing a Nissan Skyline R-33 GTR, I'm only 18 however I live in the ACT and the laws permit young drivers to own the responsibility of high power / Turbo cars. Skylines have been a long dream of mine, originally the aggressive R-34 was my dream but, the R-33's overall seem much more capable than the R-34 and the difference in weight catches my eye quite a bit. insurance will be a lot on my hands and I don't want to purchase it in my dads name to avoid the excess cost, but rather see that cost as a contributing factor to really respecting and loving the vehicle. It would be my first car, I've got a mate who owns an R-33. He introduced me to this website a while back. Any information on an R-33 would be greatly appreciated, price range from 15,000 - 25,000 I really don't want to hit the 30,000 mark but if its a damn mint car I'll probably put in everything I've got to pay it off. especially if under 100,000 Kilometers (they're dead by 190,000 right? seen a few for sale at 240,000ks, they wanted $4,500. Hahah things defiantly a rebuild project. personally I'm looking for an R-33 with close to 90,000ks) Still in year 12 I finish off in June. not particularly enjoying school although, I plan to use every hour of my time provided I'm not exhausted to work during the day in a few jobs as well as becoming a security guard working long nights at civic. Currently in Canberra, that plus I want to move out but, everything I'm earning I want to put into the car before any other plans. I want to fit a full leather interior to the 33 as well as putting decent cash into a gorgeous sound system. I recon after a few years I'll sync close to $50,000 into it. I can understand anybody's perspective of a kid wanting a skyline, "oh hears some hot headed lead footed gear knob whose going to get himself killed" but in all honesty these cars have been such a dream and respecting the vehicle is so important to me. Not just a kid with dreams, but a bloke with achievable goals. If you can help me find some info on R-33's you've no idea how much I'd appreciate it. Cheers Jerry
  12. Hello New here! :D Hi All, My name is Mike, I'm from Philippines. I just bought a non-running 1994 r32 GTR and looking to have it restored to its full glory. I'm looking for some parts and maybe help in figuring out how me and my mechanic can restore it back. And maybe I can also help you guys source some parts as well
  13. Hi to all members.... I have no idea what I am doing atm. I have never been on a forum before for anything, but I am very aware of the info and general advice and opinions I can get on this type of platform. I am keen to purchase a r32, and whether it be a gtst , or an gts4... As I get more cash down the track, a gtr would be nice too.... As I will be looking at cars wanting to purchase, I was wondering what are common things to look for in regards to wear n tear, warning signs and anything like that.... Please leave a comment and thankyou for the add!!
  14. Hi!! From Sydney Hi everyone, I'm Loris from Sydney, I'm Italian and I'm an happy owner of a Skyline cpv35. I'm a Painter with a passion for car mechanic stuff, I grew up in a mechanic workshop from my dad. That's where my passion come from.
  15. Gday lads and ladies, I've just recently Purchased my absolute dream car, Skyline R33.. obviously like most of us I'd love to own a GTR but atm with the cost of them sky rocketing, and simply the GTR tax as we are all very well aware of, I have chosen a GTST.. and couldn't be happier. After doing some research into what the GTST is, and the history behind them, I have fallen deeper in love, and found a new respect for what a young stupid self thought was a cheap GTR.. idiot I am I know.. Anyway I have recently found out through the reading of Forums that I have some how managed to purchase a former If not current SAU forum members R33 since his ownership I think she has gone through some rough hands and hasnt been treated as kindly as in the past, however she's in good hands now and I'm looking forward to dumping ALOT of money into her and sharing my journey with you all along the way. Cheers guys Regards Willyboy
  16. New Here Introduction Hi Im liam posted in ere a while back been snooping on this page for a long time I use to own a r34 GTV now own a r34 GTT. Cheers
  17. New to the #nissangang from Washington! Couple ?'s Hello all, the names Mike! im taking the plunge and having a fresh, 46xxx mile '92 gts25 sedan brought over seas for me. Theres a few things id like to have clarified as I've done a fair bit of searching and either find vague answers, deleted posts, or opposing answers. First off, the rb25 and re5r that is coming in my car, same engine trans as the r33 or an earlier rendition of the two? is it possible to do a simple r33 lsd swap into the 32 assuming the trans is the same? I've also come across a couple threads of some seriously modified auto's to handle massive power. Will a stock trans with an upgraded converter hold on to 300 or so whp? What does everyone do about tuning when having an auto? I assume in these the ecu/TCU are one unit? Guessing that kills the possibility of using a haltech or some standalone? last Q! Yes or no, the gtr front bumper fits right up? I've seen both yes and no answers. Some say you need the fenders others say it fits right on the gts.

  21. Hey Sau! I'm Tom and have a fairly stock R32 Gts-t that I've owned for a year and a half now. Mods are basic reliability and cleaning up the car/ making it legal mods but now I'm starting to move into power and handling. Will start a build thread soon so stay tuned!
  22. Hey everyone my names kyle im from Newcastle, NSW just got my first skyline. Its a s1 R33 gts25t .. pretty rough. Got a few bolt on go fast bits. I swapped an unfinished ae86 project for it with September rego. Haha keen to know everyone
  23. Hey Guys, My name is Niroo and I am a 21 year old kid currently studying full time in Melbourne. I plan on purchasing a Silver Spec 2 R33 GTST. If I can't find a clean car with reasonable KMs on the cheap over here, I might have to start saving up to import a clean car down. But till then going to start saving! Feel free to leave any advise or tips you have for me, have a great one! ?
  24. Hey everyone, I don't yet own a skyline but I'm wanting to learn everything I can before I make my first purchase. I'm still on P-plates (in qld, AU) so I'm waiting until I'm on opens to have more freedom to pick my car. I'm looking to get an r32 or r33 (however more towards r33) gts-t skyline but have no clue where to start looking/researching etc. So yeah
  25. Hey all. I am a newbie here but i currently seek advice on the best places to find a decent r32. I looked around my city and can only find a couple for sale rn. My question is i guess is there anyone who wants to sell their car. If not is there a skyline specialty yard in WA? Is importing that hard? I see a few interstate for sale all the time. Also if not a skyline would you recommend any other jdm car? I have had a few nice jap imports before but the market seems to be a bit all over atm. I am wanting one in grey and as good original condition as i can find. (Not chopped up) i considered other models of skyline but just not the 33.( I never liked those theyre a tad oversized for my liking. ) I am not looking for a gtr specifically as just a gts-t will do me fine. Also leave any ideas if you like. Such as similar sized cars etc. Cheers.
