  1. Hey All, Hope everyone is well. Long story short, Bought a 2001 Mazda 121 Metro (Small Size Little Japanese Demon) with the most underpowered motor and feel, but still at a minimum a fun car, which makes a 60 zone feel like a space shuttle launch. The few questions I have are, one, got two oil leaks. One is coming from the sump plug (probably incorrect terminology), and another further behind. I was wondering since it is FWD if this could be trans or something else but got no clue, been underneath but a new oil leak started today but could be aircon or something i don't understand. I know one is defo engine oil, but the other, i didn't have time to check. If anyone is from Perth and has some time or interested (which i doubt anyone is) I'd owe them a life debt to look at the nugget. Two, I am deciding if I am going to be a dickhead as per usual and cut the exhaust just before the muffler on the final 90 degree bend and stick it under the car and point it towards the underside of the side-skirt. The internal questions inside this are, one, if the pipe doesn't stick down or though the side skirt will it cause exhaust gases to pool underneath the car (close to fuel tank) and do i keep the muffler to f**k the cops off or do i just send it? Three, my final stupid question. Now i know all of you hate pod filters and they are useless, but the pod filter i've added is definitely better than the stock 30mm pipe of airflow that the air-box was connected to. I have absolutely sketched the daylights out of this by finding out that adding a pod involves attaching pod to maf, and then i discovered an air temp sensor which i may or may not have drilled into my stock intake pipe and just plugged and walked away (yes i know it is bad and it is my first car sooo, sketchy is all i've got). To resolve this, I have got 3 inch tubing which will connect all fine (i've tested it) and made sure it plugs all together with the OEM parts, instead of the 2 inch tube. This new tubing is mainly stainless steel with silicon joining pieces and a somehow very well non-sketchy hole with a rubber seal for the air temp sensor ( i know, how advanced!). Anyway, back to the problem, the connection pipe i have made doesn't fit in the car.. , so does anyone have any ideas about how to go about keeping the pod, with new piping? Anyway sorry for the headache that is this nugget, but, have to learn on a trash car to do something bigger... Thanks all Billy

  4. Hey, I've purchased a replacement set of bushings for the busted bushings (see pic) in my lower control arms in my 02 C35 (Specific model PV35 350gt8). I'm wondering if anyone can give me a rough idea of how much a standard mechanic will charge for the labour, what price would be a rip off and if anyone has a suggestion for a good mechanic in the Perth region? Hey guys, Photos below: Got this car from the auctions, grey import, has skyline printed all over but rego doesn't specify model, it's listed only as 2002 Nissan sedan so I'm not sure what model I should be looking at for parts etc. It's obviously been modified by previous owner, suspension has been lowered, possibly chopped, don't know for sure. Local mechanic sent me this photo after I took it in for a service and told me the front suspension (mainly bushes) are destroyed, and the steering column is about to fall off... He's said it'll take 6 weeks to source bushes/bushings for repair from Nissan, but doesn't seem sure about what parts will suit... Any advice on what model's parts will be compatible and where to source them? Possibly quicker/cheaper? Or a recommendation for a more specialised mechanic? Any help would be much appreciated, I'm at a loss! Thanks

  7. Hey everyone, first off this is my first post on this forum. I don't know a whole heap about cars as of yet. I've always serviced and worked on my own old, and breaking down honda CRV, but it's time to move to a proper JDM performance car. I've got the money right now to purchase an R34 GTT, although all R34's for sale are all R34 GT's with swaps left right and center. Well, I think they are. Correct me if I'm wrong, but an R34 GTT (4 door or coupe) will always have the 3 gauges above the center console right? So thats the first dead giveaway to tell if it's genuine GTT material. And second, something I noticed, is that the rear end is more boxy rather than round with the reverse lights under the park lights. Anyway, I'm looking to purchase a GTT in Perth. What's the best option? Import or wait for a sale locally?

  10. R34 First time owner WA Hey Guys! Marc here from WA. I am really excited to be collecting my 1998 r34 gtt tmr and I'm so glad there are really helpful people with a fountain of knowledge here on this forum. The r34 that i'm purchasing is actually stock with factory nismo, but with nothing done to it. However, i was wondering if there was anything really essential to change/modify to the car's engine whatsoever or is it alright to run just stock? I'm not gonna race or track it but maybe just the occasional runs, so i don't need it too hardcore (for now haha). If there are any r34 owners in perth do hit me up too, i've just been here for 4 months (from Singapore previously), would love to make some new friends! Thanks, Marc
  11. old stagea mod or keep as is? I have just gotten hold of a 97 RS4 C34 Stagea and I have just been pottering around getting it running normally. Now few things it is an auto S1, approaching 300km on non-neo rb25det but unmolested afaics. This is the first time owning any turbo car, any Nissan so I haven't got experience living with these cars. My question is should I keep the car stock as possible and just work on the maintenance (it was a bit rough at first) or is it safe to mod this engine with high km's? I am thinking about getting a piggyback put in and a boost controller (sorry for being absolute noob) but I do not know what I am really doing, just looking for a small bump in power without sacrificing DD ability. It has a 3 inch dump and front exhaust into standard cat and 2.5, came without a muffler so I bolted on a Blitz one (doesn't fit under the bumper lol). I plan to go down in wheel diameter as it has 20 inch rims and it goes against the gearing I've been told. I have no issue with keeping it stock to DD if it is not safe to modify power. It does need suspension work done also mainly in the front. I got the car really cheap (drive away rego too) so maybe when I've got more cash I could try sell it for a lower km manual version?

Hey, I am new and looking for good places that are reputable with servicing Skylines/Stagea etc. I have just bought my 97 C34 and seems to drive fine but the fuel consumption is just extreme! It's pretty much stock but running 20" wheels might not be helping it I'm not sure... Prefer SOR but not that fussed want to get it done right.

Hey newcomer to Nissan ownership Hey everyone, joined up because I just bought a 97 Stagea RS Four RB25DET that totally works but is very stock and has a few issues being old and maybe not looked after to the best ability of previous owners. It is auto but I can't complain for what I paid for it. Anyway I hope I get to meet other owners of these fine cars to gain knowledge and generally have fun owning this car. If anyone is from Perth I would appreciate some hook ups to good mechanics and places for parts as most aspect of the car needs attention. Thanks all.

  25. hey guys, i got a 2004 v35, and as i was driving the other day, my engine just cut off, when i go to start it, the engine cranks but it will not start, all the dash lights are on as well, i took it to northside nissan and was sold a new battery and told that was ecu couldnt be found with their scan tools... and want to send it off for inspection for $350... plus whatever extra it cost on top to fix. has anyone had this problem ? or can anyone suggest a specialist in perth that specializes in V35 or 350z ? cheers
