SAU VIC farewell to a founding member It is with great sadness that SAU Vic committee and members alike say our goodbyes to Bec Pretty who is moving on from her roles at SAU Vic effective immediately. As a founding member of SAU Vic, Bec has been a tireless worker over her 13 years with the club, bringing many events both social and motorsport to the table. She has been a main instigator in our DECA events, which over the years have been one of (if not) our most popular events bringing people from as far as interstate to take part in an event known through the car community as the SAU Vic DECA motorkhana. All up Bec has been more than a driving force behind SAU Vic and we thank her more than we could ever show or say! Bec, We wish you a full and fun future and all the luck in your future endeavours. From the SAU Vic Committee and Members, Thank you Bec Pretty Those that have known and spent time at SAU Vic events with Bec, please comment your thank-you's below.

All Committee positions are up for voting and nomination. However it will only be the Executive Committee who gets voted in on the night of the AGM. The Executive committee will then pick the general committee as they see fit from the members who are nominated here. Nominations can only be made by financial members of SAU-Vic. If you would like to be involved on the Committee, please nominate yourself. If you think someone else would be great in a Committee role - please nominate them. For a nomination to be valid it must be seconded by a current Club Member and the person must accept the nomination. Don't be scared - this is a great way to get more involved with your club. The Committee is currently structured as such: Executive Committee roles: President Vice President Secretary Treasurer General Committee roles: Social Events Motorsport Events Again, this is a great way to be a part of your club. All current financial members are eligible. All committee members have to stand down and be re-nominated and re-elected - so everyone has the ability to be involved. Please post any queries or nominations in this thread. Role Descriptions Executive Committee roles: President This is the clubs leader. This person is responsible for the clubs "public" face appearance. Their responsibility is to ensure the club is heading and following the direction that the members want. They act as a fill in for when the President is absent from meeting, events and other appearances. They also cover any absences for any decision-making requirements and processes. Secretary Responsible for all club mail, notices, memberships, member inquiries, member questions and bulletins. The secretary should also track our various club affiliation agreements (insurance etc) and ensure all of the club information is up to date and correct. The secretary should also handle all memberships add/changes/deletes Treasurer The treasurer is responsible for the clubs trading funds and bankroll. It is their responsibility to ensure funds for events, purchases, stock, merchandise, deposits etc is handled correctly. All money transfers, transactions, purchases need to be logged and recorded for our regular balance checks and yearly reviews. The SAU Vic Go-Kart Championship is back and bigger than ever for 2017! The 2016 Championship had fantastic support with a great turnout to all 3 rounds. This year we have looked to keep the successful midweek formula that everyone enjoyed and we've added an extra couple of rounds, including one coupled with a cruise to Phillip Island and the final is a spring Sunday afternoon at LeMans that has always been popular over many years. The points system for the championship has also undergone a shakeup. We're going to use the V8 Supercar points system which will mean that events with more than one race will score points for each race, rather than just the final. Don't worry if you can't make all 5 rounds - you drop your worst, so the winner is the best performer at 4 events. The championship starts with the fast, flowing outdoor circuit at AceKarts in Albion on Wednesday the 15th of February at 7:00pm. Our format includes 10 Minutes of Qualifying, followed by a 10 Minute Race and a 15 Minute Race. Championship points for this event will be in the Supercars Supersprint format. 1ST 2ND 3RD 4TH 5TH 6TH 7TH 8TH 9TH 10TH 11TH 12TH 13TH Race A Race B 150 150 138 138 129 129 120 120 111 111 102 102 96 96 90 90 84 84 78 78 72 72 69 69 66 66 Entry fee is $90 which includes all sessions Sign in at 7.00pm Drinks and snacks available from the venue.
