  1. So yesterday I finally put in my new head unit that I bought a few months back. The head unit itself is a Clarion CZ702A, which itself reviewed very well by MEA (http://www.mobileele...02a_cd_tuner-1/) and I used all Aerpro harnesses etc to get it installed without fuss. I also got the harness in readiness for steering wheel controls. Essentially the harness gets you from Nissan to ISO format, then you go from ISO plugs to whatever your deck is. Aerpro Harnesses used as follows: - Clarion to ISO Harness 15 Pin (APP8CLA) - Clarion to ISO format - Clarion Adaptor Cable Suits Control Harness A (APCLAA) - Clarion SWC connection - Control A For Nissan 350Z 03, Navara 06, X-Trial Sport 01 (CHNI3A) - Main harness including steering wheel control component - Nissan D/Diversity Lead (AP348A) - For Antenna connection Another reason for choosing this specific deck was because the LCD display can be completely changed in colour, unlike many that tend to keep part of the display/front in their corporate colours. There's a preset colour for orange that is close, but the User colour setting allowed for more finite control of RGB values (in 8 steps). There might be better instructions around for the removal of the centre section of the console but I used a combination of photo instructions and YouTube video used for the Infiniti G35 (so assume its all the same for M35 Stagea and V35 Skyline): - http://www.sound-rep...l-instructions/ The Clarion headunit itself came with a mounting cage, and after scratching my head a bit on how to use this, I realised I didn't need it. Instead, after unscrewing the factory H/U, I slid the Clarion in and used the same holes and screws to mount it up. I was also hesitant as to whether this unit would be able to control tunes on the new iPhone 5, so I just went down and checked with the sync cable plugged into the USB connection (that was run over into the glove box for now) and all worked as expected. Win! All in all pretty happy with it as is the wife unit. Cheers Brendan

  5. HELP! I've spent the past week trying to nut this shit out, but I'm getting no where. To skip over a lot of details and cut RIGHT to the chase. I am trying to complete my stereo install on my 1989 R31 GXE. I have re-run speaker wiring to doors/parcel shelf etc. I cannot for the LIFE of me (Without fear frying my head-unit) figure out which is 12V constant. And Which is 12v Accessories/Ignition. After looking on multiple pages/sites/forums, I now know that BLUE/BLACK are the Accessories/Ignition & WHITE/GREEN is 12V Constant. However, I have 2 white/green and 2 black/blue wires: Also I was told investing in a Voltage Tester would help. I have uploaded a picture of the one I have which works on 240V accessories but will not register ANY current on any of the wires on my car. Is this perhaps due to the type of Tester I have, as it doesn't have a "ground lead"? So ultimately, buying the tester has gotten me no further along with something that should be so simple. If anyone at ALL can help me with nutting out these last 2 wires, it'd mean the world.

  9. Need it gone to repay a mate. Works great, sounds killer. Had in my datto ute but wont fit anymore due to larger trans tunnel. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/221206265518?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Cheers, Daniel
  10. Hi, I have a problem with my +12 V battery supply that goes to my aircon and stereo on my R32. The stereo stopped working and going through the cables I found that I didn't get power from the battery, ie. not the ignition one, but pin E on the diagram below. Strangely, when I switched the iginition on I got some power but not 12V from that cable. As I couldn't find any other way to fix it, I wired up another permanent 12V connection and the stereo was sorted. www.installdr.com/harnesses/nissan-wiring.pdf But after I put everything back together and drove the car, I realised my aircon now has a memory problem, which means it goes back to default every time I restart the car. I assume the aircon was supplied by the same wire that feeds the stereo and keeps the memory alive. Now my question: Is this something obvious that is broken which someone has come across before, or does anyone know which pin on the aircon supplies power from the battery so I can also rewire that? I've been looking but haven't come across a pin out diagram for the aicron. Any help is much appreciated, Cheers, Chris
  11. My M35 runs an aftermarket headunit direct to speakers and I've had this issue since I bought it years ago. Basically if I turn my music up loud it lasts a few minutes (sometimes a solid 15 minutes or so) but eventually all quality is dropped, volume decreases and gets fuzzy/low end gets cut etc. I always thought it's probably just a faulty head unit but I've since replaced it and I have the exact same issue. Any thoughts on what it could be/how to fix it? I don't even know where to start? It's just a standard head unit wired in (no amps, subs etc) Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  12. Hi everyone, Does anyone know if you can get a 'Bluetooth minidisc' aux input - similar to the old cassette tape aux devices, where you put the cassette tape in and plug your device into the cable to link to the cars speakers. No idea whether they exist but I'm after a minidisc version that is Bluetooth, to replace the cable! Cheers Luke
  13. im looking for a new stereo head unit to put in my v35 and i just keep getting confused by all the options. all i want is something that is compatiable with my sony xperia z1 android phone so i can play spotify through it and that will fit in nicely in the interior looks. probably a 2 din too. does anyone have any suggestions on a good head unit or any that i should stay as far away from as possible. cheers tom
  14. For sale I have my used Kenwood eXcelon car audio sound system package. All the components were used for about 6 months and were taken out of the car when I sold the car. I purchased everything brand new. All components are in working order and worked as they should when they were removed from the car. This package works very well together and provided ridiculous sound at volume. The clarity this audio system put out was unreal. Keep in mind you will need to get a good battery if using this package as it does draw some big amps. The audio pack includes the following: 2 x sets of KFC-X1730P component speaker system, carbon glass fibre honeycomb cone, 6.5" woofer and 1" tweeter, peak power 330W, rated 110W RMS at 4 ohm, 86db /w at 1m sensitivity, 63Hz - 24,000Hz freq response. 1x P-XW1000B 10" slimline carbon glass fibre honeycomb cone subwoofer in box. (this thing is very powerful and provides a nice tight base. I had it turned down), 1000W peak, rated 250W RMS at 4 ohm, 90db /w at 1m sensitivity, 35Hz - 900Hz freq response. 1 x X500-1 monoblock class-D amp. 300W RMS at 4 ohm, 83db. 1 x XR-4S 4-channal class-D amp. 120W RMS X 4 at 4 ohm, 73db. 1 x KDC-X996 head unit. 3 high voltage 4.0v pre outs (front L+R, rear L+R and sub pre outs). Works with iPhone/iPod, Pandora internet radio, Bluetooth + parrot, HD radio and USB input as well as CD. Also advertised on gumtree : add id 1079605186 and boostclassifieds: add id 2636659. Asking $1400 for the lot.
  15. Hi, I'm looking to buy a stereo/climate/gear surround for my r32. I'm after one that hasn't been painted or anything, is in good condition and has the clip part that attaches to the gear boot. I'm located in Adelaide, but will pay for shipping if interstate. I've attached a photo of what I'm after because i know i suck at describing things. Cheers

  18. Android powered double din units Hi All, I was browsing eBay because I'd like to update my head unit soon. I was stunned by how many super cheap ($150ish) Android-powered double din units there were. They seemed pretty good with a fair bit of memory and 1080p screen. What are these units actually like? Surely you can't go wrong at $150 for a unit with as much as these have. I'd only be worried about hardware failure I think. Check this guy out; http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/like/6-5-Double-2DIN-Car-Radio-Stereo-DVD-Player-GPS-Quad-Core-Android-4-4-3G-WIFI-/232176282348?roken=cUgayN I'd also be worried about startup time and whether the head unit would just resume from where you left it (ie, still tuned in to the same station). I'd hate to have to select my music every time I got in the car. What's the general consensus with these?
  19. M35 Aftermarket Stereo - Brisbane Hi, So my stereo has been dropping in and out for the last 6 months or so. Started with the NAV screen deciding it didn't want to work (which took out my parking cameras), then the stereo refused to operate when on accessory power (with engine off) and dropping out intermittently while driving. Today is finally gave up completely and has died. Unfortunately it has taken the air-con controls with it and so the air-con is stuck on very cold and high fan speed. Rather than get it fixed, I figured it might be more cost-effective to have an aftermarket stereo put in. Can anyone recommend someone in Brisbane who can supply and fit a stereo into an M35 Series 1 Stagea? I'd prefer to have it done by someone who has actually done it before and won't charge me an import premium. Thanks in advance.
  20. xanavi.ru Xanavi.ru seem to have available kits for Japanese to English conversions (including Australian, but not New Zealand, maps). Pricing seems ok - I am just wondering if anyone had any particular cautionary tales to tell in terms of them taking money and not dispatching, or sending the wrong things? I'm more than happy that I have the skills to remove and replace the unit - more concerned with whether or not I can trust the Estonian company. Thoughts? Cheers - Neil G
  21. Newbie !! Whats the go with radio? 1 station?!! Hey All ? First time Skyline owner. Just bought a 350GT V35x 2006 model. Has a great sounding BOSE stereo system but can only tune into 1 station !! Choice of either FM1 or FM2 & both of them will only tune between 70 to 90 bandwidth. Most of the stations I listen to in Melbourne are 101.9 or 105.3 etc. Anyone else with an import had this problem? Is there any way to fix it without putting in new stereo ?
  22. PM35 centre console stereo Just pulled it out of my 350rx. $100 Cable from the screen has been cut, so not sure if screen is still usable now. I have the disk drive console bit which sits under the seat as well. Good if you want a new stereo and want to whack an empty pocket in place of the screen. Will fit m35, v35, etc Located 2203
  23. hello everyone. i recently broke/ damaged the cassette player in my 32 gtr. yes my car has a cassette player, and no i don't want to upgrade it to a cd player. anyone with one laying around please let me know and ill be happy to buy it off of you. thanks heaps.
  24. Hi All, I'm picking up my new daily tonight. The Bora died and I'm getting a few-year-old Mazda 3. I'm thinking of ditching the integrated stereo and installing an Android double din. I can have Bluetooth and maybe even a reverse camera which I'd like. My question is, if I park the car and go into a shop, when I come back and turn on the car again, will it resume from where I left off? I don't want to have to start the music/radio manually every time I start the car. Has anybody installed one of these? I'd love some feedback. Thanks, Christian
  25. M35 Nav/Stereo console Pulled this out and replaced with a double din. CD player is jammed but radio,A/C and Nav screen worked fine. (pic pulled off web because I'm lazy) I was going to bin it but i'll throw it up here for a few weeks. $75 including postage Australia wide. PM Brendon or contact on 0402 seven zero two 102.
