  1. Weekly Race 4 Real Report: June 14, 2017 Wednesday night Race 4 Real off-street meets continue to be one of the most popular events on the Sydney Dragway calendar and it’s quite easy to see why! Here are some great performances from last week’s Race 4 Real at Sydney Dragway. Top Holden of the Week A statement of class it may have been in its day, but this particular HZ Holden Premier was about something completely different – pure muscle. This beast managed a best time of 13.56 @ 85.25 MPH down the quarter mile. Top Japanese of the Week Looking sharp in an eye-catching coat of yellow paint and rocking a set of nicely fitted Enkei RPF1s, this immaculate DC5 Honda Integra definitely stood out. Pulling out a quick best run of 13.31 @ 220.66 MPH, this little Honda definitely impressed. Top Ford of the Week We never get tired of seeing these old Falcons down here at R4R. This immaculate 1971 XY GT pulled off an impressive best time 14.64 @ 92.30 MPH, proving that it still had plenty of pep in its step. Commentator’s Pick of the Week This not-so-humble 1976 Mitsubishi Galant was bonkers inside out from the bright green paintjob to the massively wide rear tyres and the 5.7L LS1 lurking beneath that big hood cowl. With a blisteringly fast best run of 10.66 @ 125.22 MPH, we’re sure that this Galant leaves its competition ‘FRYTND’. Race 4 Real is on every Wednesday night at Sydney Dragway, weather permitting. Keep it safe, legal and off the streets! Gates open at 4:30PM and racing starts at 6:00PM. Check our website for T&C’s and entry information. Stay tuned for our coverage of the next Race 4 Real event on June 21! 2. Weekly Race 4 Real Report: May 31, 2017 Wednesday night Race 4 Real off-street meets continue to be one of the most popular events on the Sydney Dragway calendar and it’s quite easy to see why! Here are some great performances from last week’s Race 4 Real at Sydney Dragway. Top Holden of the Week This angry HSV Clubsport R8 sounded and looked the absolute business rocking a red and black colour scheme and topped off perfectly with a Walkinshaw bonnet. This beast managed an impressive 13.17 @ 120.41 MPH down the strip. Top Japanese of the Week Less is definitely more with this immaculate S15 Nissan Silvia. Undoubtedly one of the cleanest S15s kicking about, rocking a set of R34 GT-R stockies, a rare set of rear pods and finished off with a front lip and a front-mount intercooler. Top European of the Week Classic Minis are definitely a welcome site here at Sydney Dragway and this one appeared to have some fairly extensive work done to it. Coated in a beautiful hue of blue and clever use of a WRX bonnet scoop made sure that this little hatch stood out. Managing a 16.05 @ 84.76 MPH, this Mini’s straight-line performance certainly impressed. Top Ford of the Week Starting out its life as a taxi cab, this humble FG Falcon was given a new lease on life with the gift of a turbo Barra powerplant swapped under the bonnet. With a best run of 11.93 @ 115.54 MPH, late arrivals are a thing of the past. Commentator’s Pick of the Week For this edition of Race 4 Real, we were treated to a visit from the world’s fastest street-driven GT-R. Capable of running 7-second passes, this R32 GT-R, affectionately dubbed ‘JUN II’, sounds just about as mental as it pulls. Race 4 Real is on every Wednesday night at Sydney Dragway, weather permitting. Keep it safe, legal and off the streets! Gates open at 4:30PM and racing starts at 6:00PM. Check our website for T&C’s and entry information. Stay tuned for our coverage of the next Race 4 Real event! 7. Weekly Race 4 Real Report: May 24, 2017 Wednesday night Race 4 Real off-street meets continue to be one of the most popular events on the Sydney Dragway calendar and it’s quite easy to see why! Here are some great performances from last week’s Race 4 Real at Sydney Dragway. Top Holden of the Week There’s not much else out there more menacing than the front end of this VT Commodore. With a best time of 11.40 @ 120.98 MPH, you wouldn’t want to catch this beast in your rear-view. Top Japanese of the Week One of the more criminally overlooked cars to come out of the Group A golden age of rally is the Mazda Familia GTX. Featuring by a turbo 1.8L with power sent to all four wheels, this unassuming little hot hatch is an absolute riot. Looking forward to seeing more of this rare piece of rally history here at Sydney Dragway! Top European of the Week These fire-breathing Mercs are really starting to take over here at Race 4 Real! This immaculate silver A45 AMG managed an impressive best run of 11.90 @ 113.67 MPH down the quarter mile. Top Rotary of the Week Straying away from the usual RX-3 recipe of candy paint and big wheels, this example took a more subtle approach, sporting its factory yellow paintjob. Not much else about it was factory however as you can probably tell by the need for a parachute and wheelie bar – and a best pass of 10.71 @ 125.04 MPH, of course. Top Ford of the Week This XY Falcon GT looked the goods and was an absolute beast, roaring down the quarter mile to a best time of 10.27 @ 134.63 MPH. Commentators Pick of the Week Not often do we see classic Minis running here at our Race 4 Real events so it was great to see this beautiful light blue example. With a best run of 14.65 @ 90.87 MPH, this Mini reminded everyone of the giant-killer status that these cult cars have earned. Race 4 Real is on every Wednesday night at Sydney Dragway, weather permitting. Keep it safe, legal and off the streets! Gates open at 4:30PM and racing starts at 6:00PM. Check our website for T&C’s and entry information. Stay tuned for our coverage of the next Race 4 Real event on May 31! 10. Weekly Race 4 Real Report: May 17, 2017 Wednesday night Race 4 Real off-street meets continue to be one of the most popular events on the Sydney Dragway calendar and it’s quite easy to see why! Here are some great performances from last week’s Race 4 Real at Sydney Dragway. Top Holden of the Week The venerable VF HSV GTS is an incredible machine right out of the box, packing a monstrous 6.2 litre V8 underneath that muscular bonnet. This silver example however, was on a whole other level, blitzing the quarter mile with a best time of 9.91 @ 146.61 MPH. Top Japanese of the Week Now here’s something you don’t see often here at Sydney Dragway. This lifted LandCruiser 70 Series pulled out an impressive 14.54 @ 97.17 MPH best run down the quarter mile. Not bad for a big, lumbering 4x4! Top European of the Week Mercedes-Benz’s answer to the hot-hatch, the A-Class stays true to the German auto-manufacturer’s habit of building deceptively classy cars with brutal performance characteristics. This beautiful grey example managed a best time of 12.40 @ 113.31 MPH in standard form, showing just how impressive these machines really are. Top Rotary of the Week The first-gen Mazda RX-7 is definitely one of the lesser seen rotors here at Sydney Dragway. Because of this, it was a delight to see this beautiful purple example turn up at last week’s R4R event and run an impressive best time of 13.16 @ 117.39 MPH. Top Ford of the Week Packing Ford’s extremely capable turbocharged ‘Barra’ straight-six, the FG FPV F6 Typhoon is a formidable challenger here at Sydney Dragway. This particular example ran a best time of 11.22 @ 121.20 MPH, proving just how well these engines perform with minimal modifications. Commentators Pick of the Week This VE HSV GTS put on an impressive showing with a best run of 11.20 @ 130.09 MPH. What was even more impressive however, was the driver’s amazing launch, pulling off an amazing .000 reaction time! Race 4 Real is on every Wednesday night at Sydney Dragway, weather permitting. Keep it safe, legal and off the streets! Gates open at 4:30PM and racing starts at 6:00PM. Check our website for T&C’s and entry information. 12. Weekly Race 4 Real Report: May 10, 2017 Wednesday night Race 4 Real off-street meets continue to be one of the most popular events on the Sydney Dragway calendar and it’s quite easy to see why! Here are some great performances from last week’s Race 4 Real at Sydney Dragway. Top Holden of the Week With a best time of 10.98 @ 123.84 MPH, there’s no doubt that this purple LH Torana was packing some serious muscle underneath that enormous bonnet scoop. Top Japanese of the Week The Toyota 86 has proven to be a huge success since they first hit our roads in 2012. Toyota’s chassis combined with Subaru’s boxer powerplant has made for one incredibly balanced sports car. This white example turned up with nothing more than a set of aftermarket wheels and a TRD wing and managed a best run of 15.86 @ 90.59 MPH. Top European of the Week No one builds go-fast luxury cars quite like Mercedes-Benz. Thanks to its 375kW twin-turbo V8, this C63 AMG pulled off a best run of 11.41 @ 122.97 MPH. Pretty impressive for a luxury sedan in factory form. Top Rotary of the Week Standing out with its black and red colour scheme, this unique Mazda RX-2 buzzed down the strip to a best time of 102.69 @ 88.55 MPH. Top Ford of the Week With the Falcon now out of production, it was great to see this Aussie icon here at Sydney Dragway. With a best time of 10.72 @ 129.29 MPH down the quarter mile, this mint XY Falcon was far from standard. Commentators Pick of the Week Of all the classic muscle cars that Australia can call its own, the Chrysler Valiant is particularly rare. This gunmetal grey example was an absolute monster, cracking into the 9s with a best run of 9.80 @ 134.91 MPH. Race 4 Real is on every Wednesday night at Sydney Dragway, weather permitting. Keep it safe, legal and off the streets! Gates open at 4:30PM and racing starts at 6:00PM. Check our website for T&C’s and entry information. Stay tuned for our coverage of the May 17, 2017 Race 4 Real! 14. Weekly Race 4 Real Report: April 19, 2017 Wednesday night Race 4 Real off-street meets continue to be one of the most popular events on the Sydney Dragway calendar and it’s quite easy to see why! Here are some great performances from last week’s Race 4 Real at Sydney Dragway. Top Holden of the Week Breaking into the 12s with a 12.83 @ 110.53 MPH, this bright yellow VX Holden Commodore definitely impressed. Top Japanese of the Week This red Datsun 1200 coupe looked anything but standard with a front mounted intercooler, wider rear tyres, roll cage and the left headlight removed for induction purposes. A more than considerable power hike from factory coupled with such a lightweight body saw this little rocket pull out some fast times. Top European of the Week Of all the things that Mercedes-Benz is good at, combining sophistication, luxury and with brutish performance is way up there. Looking classy and sounding as angry as ever, this E55 AMG ran a staggering best time of 12.16 @ 116.97 MPH. Top Rotary of the Week The FD3S Mazda RX-7 is an amazing piece of machinery, even in its standard form. This, for the most part, unmodified example managed a best run of 14.81 @ 94.33 MPH, proving just how impressive this Japanese icon is straight out of the box. Top Ford of the Week This immaculate, standard-looking XA Ford Falcon looked like something your grandpa would drive around, especially in that factory brown lick of paint. So you could imagine our surprise when it pulled out an impressive 13.14 @ 105.99 MPH on the quarter mile. Commentator’s Pick of the Week With that front mounted intercooler hanging out of its front bar, this Mazda commercial van certainly isn’t one for hiding its true capabilities. A best run of 11.85 @ 104.25 MPH had everyone wondering just what exactly was rocketing this van down the strip. Race 4 Real is on every Wednesday night at Sydney Dragway, weather permitting. Keep it safe, legal and off the streets! Gates open at 4:30PM and racing starts at 6:00PM. Check our website for T&C’s and entry information. Next Race 4 Real is this Wednesday April 26, 2017. See you there! Links: Sydney Dragway Website: http://www.sydneydragway.com.au/ Sydney Dragway Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SydneyDragway Race4Real Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Race4Real/

  16. Weekly Race 4 Real Report: April 12, 2017 Wednesday night Race 4 Real off-street meets continue to be one of the most popular events on the Sydney Dragway calendar and it’s quite easy to see why! Here are some great performances from last week’s Race 4 Real at Sydney Dragway. Top Holden of the Week This immaculate HQ Holden GTS was original as they come and definitely snapped a few necks with both its aggressive looks and beastly V8 roar. This HQ GTS ran a best time of 15.50 @ 85.93 MPH. Top Japanese of the Week One of the most iconic cars to come out of the Land of the Rising Sun, the Datsun 260Z is a legend no matter how you look at it. This 260Z was decked out for the track and managed a best time of 13.11 @ 104.78 MPH with the help of those sticky semi-slicks. Top European of the Week It’s safe to say that straight-line speed isn’t exactly the first thing that comes to mind when talking about the classic Mini. This blue example, however, was far from standard, managing an impressive best run of 15.60 @ 84.32 MPH. Top Ford of the Week The Shelby GT500 is definitely a rare sight down here on our side of the planet. Looking as mean as ever, this GT500 rocketed down the quarter mile to a best time of 13.18 @ 111.88 MPH. Commentators Pick of the Week As you can probably tell, there was a bit of a classic theme going on here at last week’s R4R event. We’re pretty familiar with this humble little Volkswagen Beetle and it certainly impressed, running a best time of 14.06 @ 91.86 MPH. Race 4 Real is on every Wednesday night at Sydney Dragway, weather permitting. Keep it safe, legal and off the streets! Gates open at 4:30PM and racing starts at 6:00PM. 19. Weekly Race 4 Real Report: March 29, 2017 Wednesday night Race 4 Real off-street meets continue to be one of the most popular events on the Sydney Dragway calendar and it’s quite easy to see why! Here are some great performances from last week’s Race 4 Real at Sydney Dragway. Top Holden of the Week If Mad Max were a Holden man, this is what he’d drive. This beast cracked the 12s, running a best time of 12.02 @ 110.76 MPH. Is there anything more menacing than a matte black HQ Holden with enormous amounts of muscle under the bonnet? Top Japanese of the Week The A70 Toyota Supra may not be as popular as its younger brother, but the more angular iteration of the iconic Supra name certainly has its own cult following. This clean example managed a best run of 13.30 @ 115.77 MPH. Top Rotary of the Week Red makes you go fast, right? This may very well be the case with this FD RX7, managing an impressive best time of 13.52 @ 105.39 MPH. Top European of the Week There’s no denying that Porsche is in the business of building fast cars. They’re so serious about this in fact, that even their SUVs are a force to be reckoned with. Take this Cayenne Turbo for example; running a best time of 14.23 @ 99.55 MPH. Top Ford of the Week Cracking the 11s with a best run of 11.36 @ 118.79 MPH, this Ford Cortina is an absolute weapon. Those wide rear tyres and air cleaner poking out of the bonnet show that this Cortina means business. Commentator’s Pick of the Week American muscle at its absolute finest. Not every day do you see a ‘68 Chevy Camaro here in Australia and especially one as clean as this. This beauty roared down the quarter mile to a best time of 13.07 @ 105.78 MPH. Race 4 Real is on every Wednesday night at Sydney Dragway, weather permitting. Keep it safe, legal and off the streets! Gates open at 4:30PM and racing starts at 6:00PM. Check our website for T&C’s and entry information. 24. Weekly Race 4 Real Report: February 22, 2017 Wednesday night Race 4 Real off-street meets continue to be one of the most popular events on the Sydney Dragway calendar and it’s quite easy to see why! Here are some great performances from last week’s Race 4 Real at Sydney Dragway. Top Holden of the Week There’s no arguing that the HQ Holden Kingswood is an Aussie icon and a valuable piece of Australian motoring history. With Holden ceasing to exist very soon, it was great to see this blast from the past strutting its stuff here at Sydney Dragway and running an impressive best time of 12.99 @ 111.65 MPH. Top Japanese of the Week Not every day do you see an R33 Skyline GT-R rocking one of its most desirable paint options, Midnight Purple. This beautiful example managed a best run of 11.91 @ 76.84, but with those plates we’re sure that its capable of much quicker times. Top Bike of the Week It was great to see some two-wheeled action at Race 4 Real. This black and gold Suzuki GSXR1000 broke into the 10s with a best run of 10.16 @ 133.38 MPH, giving the cars a run for their money. Top European of the Week German muscle at its absolute finest, the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG is the perfect combination of European refinement and brutal tyre-shredding performance. This stunning C63 AMG Edition 507 ran a best time of 12.26 @ 117.09 MPH. Top Ford of the Week Managing a best run in the 11s with a 11.32 @ 133.16 MPH, this FG Falcon XR6 was a force to be reckoned with. Commentators Pick of the Week The barebones, no-nonsense Caterham 7 is arguably the ultimate weekend track-day weapon and very rarely seen here on Australian soil. Due in no small part to its ultra-lightweight body, this silver example was piloted to a best time of 12.00 @ 115.79 MPH. Race 4 Real is on every Wednesday night at Sydney Dragway, weather permitting. Keep it safe, legal and off the streets! Gates open at 4:30PM and racing starts at 6:00PM. Check our website for T&C’s and entry information. Next Race 4 Real is this Wednesday March 1, 2017. See you there!
