  1. Hi, So I'm moving to Adelaide in a few weeks, and need to get connected. Will be looking for landline phone (if required), mobile phone, internet, TV (maybe). Looking for recommendations on reliability and cost. Not looking for any huge packages (maybe 10gig/mth downloads), mainly basic plans on the cheaper side. Coming from the Territory we don't have much choice and as much as i hate Telstra, I have found they were the best option for me to run with up here. But I have cut all ties with them now except my prepaid mobile, and looking to start fresh. Does anyone else do package bundle discounts including TV? Do you have to have landline to have good home internet at a reasonable price? (The mobile dongles are more than I want to pay for the downloads) Thanks for your advice!
  2. Started a thread last year in the member's section, but decided that now series two has just been announced that it's time to launch a general thread too. If you haven't already seen series 1 - you can download off ABC website. It centres on a family of Top Fuel drag racers [i think they use Darren Morgan's car for shots] that are re-united with their daughter after adopting her out at birth - it's a comedy that is interwoven with drama. Unusually, the cast of actors is rock solid. There is not a bad actor amongst them. Standouts are Michala Banas as Amber, Patrick Brammall as Danny and Robyn Nevin [who I am certain channelled a certain member of my family for that character], Annie Maynard is really good too - tough scene with the epi-pen and the Za[sic]mba lol Anyway, it's a really good Australian show that is written very well and worth a watch.

  5. Hey everyone! I have done a couple searches on the forum and it seems like the popular choice is installing an Asuka TV tuner into the stock TV tuner, unfortunately I am having issues finding one to buy online. I am wondering if anyone has installed a mirroring box instead? I have been able to find the Asuka mirroring box and similar units for sale, my only concern is how the screen will displayed mirroring a smart phone specifically for downloaded netflix shows. Having digital TV does interest me but I feel the amount of channels I will get in Canada and road tripping into the US it would just be better to mirror my device into the TV tuner. A little info on the car if that changes anything: 2002 Nissan Stagea 250t RS, it has an aftermarket japanese head unit in it, the TV tuner works as much as it can without an analogue signal and I am located in Canada. Here are two mirroring boxes that I am considering: asuka mirror Generic mirror
  6. Anybody else seen this episode with the r33? I normally like this show but this is so painful. They are "building" a "drift car" and I am struggling to watch it. They put on a"massive" intercooler that he refers to as a radiator that would be maybe 2/3rds the size of a gtr one and he covers half of it with the number plate. He's also put on a horrible aluminum wing and filled the standard wing holes with grommets. No more power to be gained (not even increased boost), they're setting the suspension up. It's killing me!
  7. I was appalled at how horrible the Wheeler Dealers Skyline episode was. It really put me off the show. On the flip side, I've always found the less-showy Car SOS to be a better watch, even if they don't show quite the level of mechanical work that Wheeler Dealers does. I caught the 2nd half of an episode where they were SOS'ing an R33 GTR. I had to do a double take because I'd never seen them work on anything newer than mid-eighties. It was so nice to see them restore the car rather than "modifying" it. They replaced the exhaust (3.5" maybe) with a fresh built exhaust, they replaced the Nismo wheels with a new set (that looked questionably "Nismo" to me) and then they cleaned and repainted. Nothing silly. And holy smokes it looked *so* good afterwards. Sounded great too. Anyone else seen this episode?
