Interesting read, some results surprising

I have not read the whole report yet but really interesting to see that Goodyear Eagle f1 got top place.

I have these tyres on my 33 at the moment, I thought they were pretty good but I'm supprised they beat tyres like the toyo t1r and michelin pilot sport going on the sort of praise they both get on this forum. I have never tried the t1r or pilot sports by the way.

I got the f1s really cheap as well - ~ $220 per tyre - 235/45/17. The pilot sports and t1r were twice that price.

remember that different countries get different compounds...

not sure that they're qualified to discuss or comment on anything that goes around corners, or what that feels like...

on another site they were discussing a similar test..

Basically there was a consensus that the results could vary greatly depending on the weight of the vehicle in question and what would suit a heavier car might not be suitable for a sportier one. Could be true for a 325i ?

I notice that a lot of tyres that are rated well for commos and falcons never seem to be that well rated by the non-tank performance brigade (i.e. sub 1600kg)

Well ive used the Advan ad07, eagle f1 and currently the older model of the pilot sports, i have to say the pilot sports are pretty good, and its only the older model, the ps2 has been given great reviews but i havent had the chance to try them yet...they are pretty dear fer street tyres i have to say..the ad07 is great, esp in the dry and the steering feedback from the tyres are solid...the eagle f1, well i feel its good in the wet and not too bad in the dry..but somehow i'd still go with the advan or the pilot sport among these 3... I think the point of the car's weight is quite a substantial argument though..

Really results are one thing, how it feels is another. For Id say most of us if we dont like the feel of a tyre, we arent going to like it, and therefore not be confident with it. By not being confident it means we cant use its limit and a tyre which technically has worse performance might be better as you can feel what its going to do.

Also, we dont know if the test was rigged or not.

Not a bad tire review. But one thing is for sure, I rarely see Toyo doing well and the Goodyears are almost always in the Top 3, often winning.
