While searching for something else, I came across this, and wanted to point out, while the standard states a constant power on the pin, not all manufacturers follow that part of the standard. The standard is pretty loose about how it needs to be followed to be compliant.
But in my work, I've come across plenty of models of cars where the "constant" power, is not constant and follows ignition instead.
