Summernats is a must....

White top, white top, white top.... been practising the chants...

If you don't know what that means, you will when you walk the cruise route...

Keep a look out for a red commodore ute at the dyno, they are hoping to crack 2000hp street car...

383 stroker twin turbo.... the kind of turbos that suck small animals in...

I didn't see any defect lines the last two years but then again I didn't drive the skyline, maybe I won't this year either....

At night there are huge enormous lines of modified imports lining every street in the metro area, people set up deck chairs and campsites on the street to watch the parade... The showground is for the muscle the streets are for the imports and anyone who has a modified car...

They seem to hang around industrial estates as well for some reason....

God I love summernats.... car heaven

  • 2 weeks later...
Car won't be ready for the 'nats thanks to some einstein express posting a part just before the break so that it will take 5 days to get to me. Not happy.

/rant.

I might still head down anyway...

Oh thats a shame

Why is it $8 more on Saturday then Sunday?? :woot:

Yup sunday is a pretty non-eventful day besides the burnout show in the afternoon. I've never yet stayed and watched all of the burnouts because its generally sooooo hot that after 2-3 days of it you just want to get home out of the heat.

I'm thinking this year I might just go down early sat and come back very late at night after the main showground show is over and save my money from sunday and buy the dvd instead, still unsure.

Just a reminder you can't take alcohol or bottles of soft drink or any eskies into the venue otherwise they will remove them from you upon entry.

Last year I got caught out with a couple of bottles of cold coke (35c days) only to have them removed forcing me to buy $4 600ml bottles all day which gets quite expensive.

I know it is very V8 orintated and can be a bit harsh on the girls

Last time I went to summernats everyone was very complimentary towards the girls. Although, it may have been the particular area I was in, I'm not sure :P

Anyway, I should be there on the saturday. Maybe bump into some people I know!

Many of the local Skyline people will be meeting up at the National Museum before cruising into Braddon or wherever. Meeting time is anywhere from 6:30pm so it is a bit hard to guage how many people will actually show up. It would be good to meet some people from out of town and have a massive convoy of skylines.

you beat me to it!

Meeting place: National Museum of Australia

Time: 6pm for a 6.30pm leave

basically, we all meet there, have a bit of a chat, then at 6.30 we'll all cruise into braddon, find some parking and watch the entertainment.... maybe a little later in the evening we might even go for cruise. should be a fun night....

Oh what skyline cruise :P

Wish you gave us a bit more notice so would of definatly come :w00t: but we came down in the BMW :O

Would of loved catching up with fellow SAUers have seen some cruising around skyline thats it but none have SAU stickers :w00t: whats with that ????

Jess

yeah, sorry about that..... it was a little last minute. but us ACT'ers are quite a close bunch and if something is being organised for that night, word usually spreads pretty quickly.

it wasn't a big turnout anyway. it was a bit early in the evening for most people. but you can be sure that every year during summernats, ACT SAU will be out crusing almost every night of the week! we'll try to be more organised next year....

    • Yes the gear for the R33/34 is different, it is red and has a different number of teeth. My part didn't come with that gear though, so I don't know how many teeth are on the red one. You'd have to reuse the 260RS/R33 gear, as long as it's not destroyed.   Haha, as unfortunate as that might be it was working fine for about the first 1500km I've had the car for now.
    • Update all   thanks to the workshop manual, it lead me back to checking fuses as mentioned central locking and door open lights worked when acc was switched on. diagram attached shows two points of power 1. ACC and 2.  Batt with the later being fused (#28) I did check the fuses using a multimeter but I must have stuffed that up also. Went back and checked the batt fuse in interior fuse box and you wouldn’t believe it… a blown fuse. replaced fuse and everything is now working as it should including the climate control   thank you all with your positive insight and knowledge.
    • Where is the warning "That this thread is super old"   I just went into a 5 year old thread, went to do a reply, and couldn't see anywhere obvious a warning of it being super old
    • Duncan is correct. Pitwork (and Toyota's own cheap brand "Drive Joy") were primarily created as brands to sell other manufacturers car parts. It would be weird if Nissan sold parts for Toyota vehicles with a Nissan logo on it, so they created Pitwork to sell parts for other brans Toyota, Honda etc. They are not the same as Nissan genuine parts, although they *do* meet Nissan's standards for replacement parts. They aren't supposed to be a substitute for genuine parts, but a cheaper alternative that is better than Ebay fake parts from you-know-where.
    • Thanks GTSBoy, much easier to work with it now it's free!
