R33 Souunds Like A Rex When At Temp

What do ya think???

Started last night..It had been fine all day. I went out and started it let it run at idle for about 5 min

Got in and drove off and 100 meters up the road it started spluttering like a dog.. It sounds like

a WRX with out the performance.. Im thinking coil packs as it sounds like only running on 5..

I got up this morning a took her for a run.. I took off cold (I dont do that at all) it ran fantastic for about 5 min then it got to temp and WRX time again..

Any ideas.............. Cheers

a long shot, try unplugging water temp sensor with car off

and see if that changes anything, it might not start with it unplugged

i had the exactly same prob a while ago, so i took my 33 out n ran it around the streets for like 10mins n jus let it idle then took it bak out n neva had a problem since..

Well i tried Pauls idea.. No go..

So It got the better of me so with no other idea i removed all coil packs and plugs

gave them all a big kiss put it all back together and now its al fine..Fixed

glad to hear that you sorted your problems out.

my friend had the same problem as you. purred like any rb should when cold, but when it reached the operating temp, the car would pop, splutter and sound like a rexxie. this problem seemed to caused him poor fuel economy as well.

all in all the problem was a shot coilpack. since then, its been replaced and no more dramas,
