I've been asked to see if my pad is flush with the rotor. i'm not too sure what he means.

I'm getting custom hats made up to suit an off the shelf rotor easy replacment rotor (but not dba as i hear they wear quickly)

I'm guessing to see if the pad extends up higher than the rotor top? or too far down??

if it's protrudes above the top of the rotor you'll get some knock off and if it's too far down it may interfere with the hats.

hey but custom hats will only change the location of the rotor along the axis of rotation - if the pad sits high or low only the caliper adapter brackets will change this

i.e. the bracket must be changed to move the caliper up or down from the rotational axis (hub centre) to rectify this.

Yeah well hes got the rotor, all he needs to do is make one exactly the same right? it cant be too hard! haha

everything else on the car (caliper bracket and caliper) will be staying the same. as the kits well made. i think he was just asking me these questions to see if it might be worth while changing the caliper bracket also (if its poorly made)

it should be easy enough to replicate the same offset hat for the new rotor/bolt pattern

thats ok. mine are 15mm tall. and it was a f40 kit. same ofset. its important that the pad uses the whole surface of the disc. otherwise it will crack.

who did you end up using?? haha yeah i feel your pain. stupid f40/50 kits.
