Rb30 Turbo/non-turbo Bottom End

Recommended Posts

as the discription say, i was wondering if there was any difference with a RB30 turbo bottom end and N/A besides pistons, crank & conrods?

and is there any difference between the skyline 3L and VL 3L bottom ends?

cheers Tim

The RB30 strength are the same for the turbo and non turbo. The non turbo has the provisions for the water and oil lines blocked off (except for the very first series one's)

The oil pumps are the same between any series II and above for turbo and non turbo. only the series 1 non turbo has the small pump.

The turbo has a different cam but you get more response out of the NA cam.

so is there any other way of telling the difference between series 1 and series 2 besides the turbo feed lines? and are the series 1 and series 2 in both VL and dr30's? and is the oil pump interchangable?

cheers

doubtful, seeing as the dr30 has an FJ20, not an RB.
