"pit" On Nav Screen

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had this flash up before on their nav screen? it appears every time i start the car..

i assume it obviously means that i've reached a service point, but i want to know if there's a way to get rid of it?

any ideas?

cheers,

Warren

Hehe. Pit eh? Can't say I've seen that screen before, but I reset all the service interval stuff mucking around when I first got the car. One of the menus just off the main one has a service interval monitor on it(it's the one with 1500KM on it and graph lines on it) you can reset this through there I'm guessing.

Ok checked it out and yeah it's definitely that menu cause i have it too now!

On the main menu, it's the 3rd menu down on the right hand side.

You can program 4 different service intervals.

It's pretty obvious from there but when you go into each one:-

The first button is the reset the KM's to 0 for that interval.

The second button you can specify the number of KM's it warns you at.

The third button turns that particular reminder on and off.

I have a Scan Gauge II coming from http://www.prospeedracing.com.au/ which hooks up and gives a lot of readings, I haven't used one before so I will see how it goes but it clears codes and heaps of other things.

Info is below and about $230 to $240 delivered.

TRIP COMPUTER

Trip Computers

The ScanGauge II automatically tracks

and stores data for 4 Trips.

The TRIP modes in the ScanGauge II can be used to save gas. Improved driving habits can improve fuel economy by up to 30% according to a US Government source. The ScanGauge II lets you try different driving techniques and routes and gives quick feedback on how they affect fuel use.

» Maximum Speed

» Average Speed

» Maximum Coolant Temperature

» Maximum RPM

» Driving Time

» Driving Distance

» Fuel Used

» Trip Fuel Economy

» Distance to Empty

» Time to Empty

» Fuel to Empty

Scan Tool

Check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes

The ScanGauge II can check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and if found, can display how many there are and the Trouble Codes themselves.Using the internet or repair manuals, these can be translated to the failed component and repairs can be made.

Data captured when the Trouble Code was set can be recalled to help troubleshoot the problems (was the temperature hot or cold, speed high or low, etc.). The ScanGauge II can be used to clear the trouble codes and data which will turn off the warning (Check Engine, Service Engine soon, etc.) lamp.

Some states now require that vehicle self tests have been completed since the codes were last cleared, before running emissions checks. The ScanGauge reports this "Readiness".

» Reads Trouble Codes

» Reads conditions that set the Trouble Code

» Clears Trouble Codes

»

Turns off "Check Engine" light

» Tells you when vehicle is "Ready" to pass OBDII testing

» Make and store up to 10 rewritable special codes

to send to the vehicle computer

Digital Gauges

12 Built-in Realtime Digitial Guages

The ScanGauge II can display up to 4 of 12 possible gauges at one time. The units of measure can be changed and the rate of update can be increased or decreased.

» Fuel Economy

» Fuel Rate

» Battery Voltage

» Coolant Temperature

» Intake Air Temperature

» Engine Speed (RPM)

» Vehicle speed (MPH)

» Manifold Pressure

(not available on some vehicles)

» Engine Load

» Throttle Position

» Ignition Timing

» Open/Closed Loop

Interested to see how you go with that scanner. Make sure it doesn't just work on OBD-II only mate cause the car doesn't use OBD-II protocol it is a combination of KWP2000 and CAN. I had that problem...
