wiring my power antenna on my r33

Recommended Posts

ive got my head unit up and running, except for the antenna. when i connect the blue wire for the antenna to the red/green wire, nothing happens. when i connect the blue wire to the red/green and the red/white wires next to it, the antenna goes up. when i connect the blue wire to just the red/white wire, the antenna goes down.

im stumped. can anyone help me out?

antenna goes up and down each time 12v is applied. If you connect it to the accessories, or battery wire it will go up and down yes each time u connect it.

When i can think i'll get back to you :P Not all stereos have the antenna function..

The antenna only requires 1 cable which off hand is the red white.

Connect your blue (remote) wire on your deck to the red white. Turn the deck on anttena should go up, turn it off and it should go down.

Works like a charm in my R33.

I think the red/green is actually your instrument lighting too.

My Sony only powers the antenna wire when the radio is on. If I change source to CD the antenna goes down. No good for switching an amp on/off then!!

Sounds like all you need to do is connect the blue antenna wire to the red/green and the red/white to a constant 12v.

That way when u switch power on, red/green has power as does red/white = antenna up.

When power goes off, on red/white has power = antenna down.

The factory headunit would only put the antenna up if you were using the radio feature, if you were using the tape feature then the antenna went down.

When I had my new headunit installed, regardless of whether I was using the cd feature on my headunit or the radio feature, the antenna stayed up. It only when down when the whole headunit was powered off. Very annoying
