can anyone explain the benefits of bigger camshafts and Adj timing gears?

How will they affect

1. low RPM power?

2. High RPm power?

Does anyone know if camshafts for RB25det are available here from Australia?

For the power gains provided, do you think they are worth the money?

Ahh....so many questions 8O :?:

BD4's in Sydney have quoted me $280 for a HKS adj cam gear.

Check the for sale section as there is a topic re cams.

Apparently you can only get the exhaust shaft as the inlet has variable valve timing. This is for the R33 GTS25T. You get roughly 10rwkw from the exhaust cam swap. You will trade some bottom end response for top end power and you probably should leave this mod untill you are running out of things to do. Every mechanic I've spoken to has told me the same.

I was wondering why my search for RB25 camshafts didnt work out 2 well. I did notice that RB26DETT cams were the only ones listed.

Thanks again steve and Onarun for Ur help. Heaps more homework 2 do. Lucky I'm in no rush

Up until now i thought that cam timing gears and a lightened flywheel could improve bottom end power and freer revving. Is this incorrect?
