Looking at two types of heat wrap for my S/S split front/dump pipe and was wondering if anyone knew how hot it gets...? One wrap is rated at 600c and the other at 380c. Would go for higher one but is $50 for 10mtrs delivered and the other is only $30 for 15mtrs delivered... On a budget Any positive comments would be good

500⁰c / 600_⁰ with moments of 900⁰c

The 380 C wrap sounds like it can be used to insulate something 'near' an exhaust.

The 600 C sounds like wrap for exhaust manifolds and dump pipes.

Go the higher rating.

yes you can do both, it is best to high temp paint the exhaust before wrapping to seal the metal from the moisture that can be trapped in the wrap once cooled.

Re the whole moisture thing? How hot is the exhaust? I dont think mine was ever wet. Unless it rains and the bonnet is open. Car is moving, car is running = exhaust so hot no moisture is going to be drawn into the wrap
