now i know i have to attach it onto the worm clamp, but whats the thing with the wire coming out of it? and what do i do with it, do i take it out and unplug it and screw the filter straight in?

Thanks :]

don't forget to make a bracket for the sucker otherwise it will be a trip down defect lane for you, pass regency, do not collect, but certainly deposit $200.

from the cruise wasteland thread:

i have a few times, twice in one night once, and the first thing they say is pop ya bonnet, and just start looking for defects, i got done for a loose pod filter once.

not worth the risk.

hmmm i have a stock air filter and was wondering about that plug when you pull it out while the car is running it stops the engine, anway getting rid of it should i get it removed as i want a different air flow system not the gay standard one.

cheers... michael

'that plug' thing is your AFM (air flow meter) and all external ones like most grey imports are tempermental crap.

if your going to upgrade, a cheap replacment would be a Z32 but your going to need a remap to run it.

installing a pod is one of the easier things to do. take the AFM off the indunction pipe and attach it to the pod while its outside the car, its alot easier that way. then put it all back together. make sure your dont feck the plug by forcing it off the AFM, just wiggle it side to side and should pop off. its like a 10 minute thing to do.

i wouldnt say a z32 afm is a cheap replacement..

haha just remember the plug and the "black pipe thing" known as the AFM [air flow meter] is a must you cant get rid of one but changing is ok i guess but it wont do anything good for your car unless you do the whole intake to eat more air

then you need more fuel

when you pull the plug out the car dosnt know hoe much air is being taken in thats why it dies because the ECU dosnt get the messages

other than that the pod filter question once you do it the first time you will be able to change them in 10min after that

you will get it :D

wing nuts are the best to screw it to your AFM thats all you really need to do (and put the gasket inbetween)
