hey guys,

I'm looking for an auto electrician who knows rb20's to help me out. What i have is an RB20DET in a vl calais, that wont start. It also has a problem with the turbo, but we'll deal with that once we get it going!

I've tested the CAS, ignitor, and the 2 relays by the ECU on another car, and they all work. Tested the ECU itself, and the car i connected it to wouldnt start . So replaced the ECU with another one... STILL wont start!

I dont appear to be getting any voltage at the ignitor.

Can anyone reccomend someone who can come out and get this thing going?? It must be something simple , i have tested so many components i cant think of what else it could be.

hey, yeah its turning over... the problem is theres no spark...

check the wiring from your ignitor to your coilpacks could be a short somewhere but sounds like a wiring problem

well im not getting any voltage from the ignitor going into the engine. so yeah, sounds like a wiring problem to me too.

Just cant seem to find it...

Why its easier to pay some one who knows what there doing ... Get it to a workshop that knows there stuff

yeah well thats what i wanna do, i mean obviously i cant drive the car. So im hoping to find someone who knows what there doing i can pay to get it going. So if anyone can reccomend someone or an auto electrician that knows these engines that'd be great

by the way, would the Air flow meter stop it from starting? How bout O2 sensor? maybe i could test these things.

i wouldn't think so, as you said you weren't getting any spark so neither of these should make the difference (unless they are also part of the electrical fault) 1 other thing have you checked all you fuses?

yeah, all the fuses are fine.

hey i got it going! that computer decided to work for some reason.

Anyways now i just need someone to put a new turbo in!

Got the water/oil lines and gaskets? It's fkn easy if you try it yourself

yeah thats up to you you will get charged an arm and a let for it though
