hi guys,

i notice that washing off the exhaust fumes around the rear bumper/tail section is hard to come off & normal car wash dont take it off!

what should i use...i know that car polish works but its a pain in the butt, so does kerosene but i dont think its good for the paint - i want something that doesnt damage the paint work.

regards,

Maquires Paint cleaner

Maquires Tech wax

Use in that order, perhaps use the paint cleaner twice it removes surface contaminates such as oil, tar blah blah blah. its very good at cleaning headlight lens too.

the wax will put a clear coat of protectant on the bumper to prevent oil and so on sticking to it.. this should be reapplied after 24 hours to provide maximum protection.

Once this is done the fumes will come off 90% under water 10% may require a scrub. The wax will need to be reapplied at least every 1 month, I do so every two weeks.

I've seen carbon style stickers that people have put on around the exhaust area to stop it getting on the car has a silver edge aswell, looked quite nice. no idea where they got them from

geez the brownish haze I get above the exhaust comes off with soapy water and a sponge..

you must have some sort of super staining fumes there...?

im surprised u can wash the fumes off with just soap - what soap & sponge do you use? maybe this armour all car wash i use is crap...the sponge i have is the normal beige sponge stuff
